  1. Fabulous! The sort of thing I always wanted to do with my lego as a child but the bits and peices were not available. As a child I would experiment making a lego boat with empty bubble bath bottles. Where do the flashing lights come from? I could do with some. At the moment I'm building a remote vehicle, my first so far. Keep up the good building. H
  2. Very nice. I like the interior colour and the underside looks good too. Keep up the excellent building. H
  3. The reactions show how much the members care and how much this site means to them. For me personally, I had totally forgotten about April Fools day and as I logged on early Tuesday morning I was not sure what was going on. Anyway, nice to know it's staying as it is. To the Eurobricks people behind the scenes, this shows your community cares. I think you should buy us all a Lego Technic Unimog for the emotional distress. H
  4. Thanks. I'm finding you can merge studded and studless. It's something i'm determined to do The studless parts, don't know if you can call them bricks, are good for shaping. I will see what I can do with the next one. I think i've got it now.
  5. Very nice. Take some time and tidy up the body. Maybe you could look to hide those battery packs. Happy building H
  6. Thanks. It's interesting that the liftarms add shape and character. There is more to come. I had thought of that. I have a visit to my local lego shop planned for end of the month (payday). I might get some blue bricks. Thanks for embedding the photo. I can't seem to get it right. More practice me thinks.
  7. As I'm playing catch up with the new parts (i've had pneumatics for a good few years now) I'm finding it best to order direct from lego customer service. Find a model that has the parts you require and pick them. You should be able to order a few cylinders etc at once. I've just discovered I now have two mini pneumatic cylinders. Happy building
  8. Hi all, I've been passing the time developing the 8280 chassis and what I could do with it. Look out for the Police box images also PS: I can't get a link to embed the photo's to work as yet Thanks H
  9. Hi All, A thousand thanks for the diagrams, pictures and links to steering configurations. I want to make a six wheeled (4 wheel steer, front and rear) moon crawler type vehicle. Medium sized to run around my floor and give it some terrain challenges. This is for me to practice with the remote and new motor. I will set to work. H
  10. Hi all, just got my power functions remote parts (ordered on the 28th March via standard delivery and arrived this morning. Brilliant service as I was not expecting them until at least friday. You could save me some time, i'm back at work after easter, by giving me some ideas for steering. I'll be using a M motor and a studded steering rack. Can someone assist me with the gearing down from the motor to the rack. Thanks H PS: I am currently working on a couple of models (non RC) to be shown soon. Like most of us I am eager to try my new parts.
  11. I understand the need for "change", but I don't understand the name change. This is an international site, like most websites it can be accessed by anyone in the world with an internet connection so why re-name it ameribricks? makes no sense. interbrick or worldbrick would let it be known is was an international site. Better still, keep the original name. H
  12. A very nice build. You say you don't have the skills to fill it with gear boxes and air suspension but it looks like you are well on the way to developing them. I must make one myself. H
  13. Excellent. Can the figure go inside? H
  14. Thanks. I will order those asap. H http://www.flickr.com/photos/lakop
  15. Hi, I know a lot of you are expercienced with the RC parts and power functions remotes. I was wondering which would be best for me to begin with. I'm thinking of getting the power functions remote and getting a speed remote later on. Your advice would be welcome. H
  16. That's on my list to rework (modify). Maybe you could make it longer, add suspension and a function or two. Use different coloured parts also. Making it remote control is good though. H
  17. Nice. I have a yellow bucket also. Is the black bucket i've seen larger than the old yellow one? H
  18. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lakop/with/8588907895/ Here are my technic figures (link above) at the time I could never afford a set with them. I did not realise there were so many variations. H
  19. The black is a good idea. As a formula one fan I know the tyre manufacturers for the F1 teams sometimes run their test car in black with maybe the tyre manufacturers name on. If you could put pirelli's name on both sides it would pass for a test car. http://www.formula1.com/wi/gi/597x478/sxpd/manual/pirelli_75.jpg here's one
  20. Who needs pin ball machines when you have lego. Why not build a pin ball machine with your lego. Looks like you have enough parts. H PS: Nice home cinema
  21. I am aware. I just could not remember the names of the individual machines. I am working on a front loader. I knew I should have bought one of those sets. H
  22. Thanks guys, I always like to make something that can accomodate technic figures. I've just done model 8459 (pic soon) but it does not funtion as good as I thought and, worst of all, I can't get a technic figure in easily. I'm going to adapt it for another post I saw about excavators and heavy machinary. I will post the pic as it is before I adapt it. H
  23. Beautifull! I was just watching Ice Road Truckers and thought about one of those trucks. I hope to make one some day. Keep on trucking. H
