[SR - FB 3] The father and the son....
Garmadon replied to Vedauwoo's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent build Ved, the clean aspect is very welcoming, and the oven and guy glass-blowing are great as well! from me! -
Very nice build Ved, great work on the machine (I really like the trans-clear and gold accents everywhere!), and the pillars and roof are excellent as well! The Nexo Knights shields are used very well too, and those crates of bottles are really cool! The one thing which I would suggest doing is tiling the dock and doing something or other with the water - especially so close to the very clean and neat machine area, it does look quite plain

The Empire of Eslandola: Sign-up and Discussion
Garmadon replied to kabel's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
They have been rather more talkative than the other two lately! The more long-established two are the ETWC (stands for Easily The Winning Company ) and the MCTC (Mechants Colonial... blah, blah, blah).- 780 replies

Really lovely build LJ, and fantastic photography as well! Wonderful color-scheme, the landscaping - rock-work, trees, tan ground, and olive accents, and especially the waterfall and river - is superb, and the house, both interior and exterior, is excellent also! Great job with the little details such as the goat and chicken pens too, and if there is one thing I am going to nit-pick about, it would just be to suggest putting some sort of dark background behind the house wall when taking pics of the interior as the light coming though is a bit distracting. But really, wonderful work with this!

Very nice wagon here CA, though I do have to agree with those who have expressed their opinion that it doesn't exactly look safe/stable!- 14 replies

[COR - Ch1 Cat B] There's a Kind of Lush
Garmadon replied to CelesAurivern's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
As Tomsche mentioned, very nice incorporation of that baseplate, it looks very good in the first pic particularly! Great job with the lush vegetation and trees, though I would suggest trying to introduce a bit of texture/variety into the water (the blue baseplate itself is just a little boring ). Trans-blue studs or maybe some white or trans-clear for foam and waves would be a big improvement here!- 12 replies

The're called privateers or pirate hunters - but other than that yes However, I don't expect that there will be many ships so employed until people start to get more wary about pirate problems...- 897 replies

AoM: Storehouse: Phase 1: Fruit Cellar
Garmadon replied to soccerkid6's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very nice build SK, the cellar door, stonework and Tudor section are excellent, as is the part below! The cat and mouse scenario is quite funny as well, especially given the superior size of the mouse! (I've always wondered how LEGO mice ever get caught by cats that are just nearly the same size! )- 17 replies

Very nice build MKJ, as mentioned above, the arches and crossbeams are excellent, and I really like the small tables and glasses on the wall as well! The brown wall is a bit plain though, it could certainly use a bit more to spice it up

An 8x8 is a bit small, but if the quality was high enough I believe it would probably work - though some restrictions might be enforced if it started occurring way too much, but I rather doubt that that would happen

Excellent build Bregir, awesome shaping on that canoe, and the underwater section is very nice too! I'm really liking the trans-clear and trans-light-blue on the surface of the water as well, might have to try that some time!
-
I believe the leadership has the right to request improvement or a new build if it is clear that they are just thrown out for the DBs and that the quality is suffering. However, there is no minimum size requirements, though the previous statement would apply to that as well

Excellent ship and dock Captain Wolf, the shed is quite nice (great use of those dark gray slit pieces ), and I really like your gangplank and the activity going on in the loading scene! And last but certainly not least, superb work with that ship - the sails, shape, colors, hatch, and cannons are great, and the almost completely studless aspect makes it look like a trim and clean sloop Glad to have you in Eslandola - keep it up!

[COR-FB] The Peregrine (Small Cog)
Garmadon replied to CelesAurivern's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Love the chibi feel here, and that guy up in the castle grinning like crazy as they sail out into the "great unknown" in that ship is really hilarious as well! I like the billowing out sail and the chains too, and, as you were going for the comical look, I'm not sure I can give you much advice - you pretty much nailed it!- 13 replies

Excellent landscaping Titus, the rockwork is really nice! - but then, you can hardly go wrong with rock arches! Good work with the vegetation and posing as well, though I do think the water would be improved with a bit more rhyme or reason I take it that the king doesn't even think An Tolli (it's An Holli and An Tolli, not Pin, btw) and Nellisa are his anymore, eh?

Wow, very nice wall technique Blufiji, that's one I certainly wouldn't have thought to work so well! Though I do think the roof would look better if its overhang was a bit more, the balcony and the rest of the hut is excellent! Great job on the landscaping as well, especially with that tree!
-
Very nice and well rounded ship Faladrin, I really like the bulkiness and the Sea Cow type feel to this! As to your question about approvals you need - the approvals only regulate how many DBs you will receive for it as a free-build. And although the leadership is allowed to approve any build, the players can only approve builds by members not from their faction. Oh, and you've got my approval for this

Excellent FP and very nice intro Gideon, and some cool figs as well (particularly the one that looks like Uridius )! Just out of curiosity, did you shoot these with super macro on as well (I've just been using that for my FP builds), or does the aperture speed alone do the trick?

[ESL-FB] Cotton Plantation in Nova Terreli
Garmadon replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice cotton plantation Elostirion! The sideways board technique works very well on the shack, and the cotton rows are excellent as well - although I do agree that it looks much better with the studs on top Also, the pic you have with the studs on has a good deal better white balance than the main ones... but you've already heard about that Keep it up! -
[CH 1a] And so they first met...
Garmadon replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice work on the foliage and the layers on the base Elostirion, the trees and water are quite nice as well, and the photography is excellent! I hope to see you continue improving in Brethren of the Brick Seas, you have a great deal of potential here! -
Sorry...

The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion
Garmadon replied to Sebeus I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Why was I totally thinking you were in Corrington? Really? (Maybe because you built like 9/10ths of the Corrington intro builds)... but seriously, weren't you the co-leader of Corrington? -
So yes, Bregir is essentially correct - a 0 rating for the guns would mean the ship would have between 0 and 2

Captain's Corner: Dedicated to the hardworking Pirates Staff
Garmadon replied to Captain Dee's topic in Pirate MOCs
Excellent build Captain Dee, lovely color-scheme and very elegant and polished interior! My favorite couple of things are the throne and the row of trans-red diamonds up top. I hope we'll be seeing some more builds from you! - though I admit that your comments are almost as good!
