  1. @Ved, are you sure that isn't referring only to mines? By my recollection (I could be wrong, it's been a while since I last read the rules! ) you must stake a claim for a mine and pay the licence before building an MoC, and build that after you find out what you have struck - but all other property types are built first and then licenced (I'm sure about that). So no, you did do it correctly
  2. I'll just add to what Captain Dee said about the taxes, that any additional taxes which will actually come out of the players pockets are determined faction by faction by the leader(/s) of that nation. So if Corrington is having a problem with too many plantations which the other nations are not having, Ska and the rest of Corrington's leadership could decide to impose a, for example, 10% extra tax on plantations (which will not be automatic - the players will be actually transferring the DBs themselves) without at all affecting the other nations... except, of course, that that would drive off all their farmers to Eslandola - but now we're getting into economics...
  3. Yes, I'm not blaming you for not being able to read people's minds! I was just trying to clarify what you just said - that the fact that a ship is not indexed as licenced does not mean that the leaders have necessarily made a final decision, but that you just wanted to put them there, and then you would incorporate the final decision when it comes along You just said it very well yourself
  4. Good idea to ask, we should probably add a list to the front page of this or one of the other pinned threads! The leaders are as follows: Corrington: Ska for Hire, Captain Stabbin, Scarst, and Captain Dee Eslandola: Kabel, Kai NRG, and Garmadon Oleon: Sebius I, Phred (though he is more a leader in general than of Oleon in particular), and Blackdeathgr Sea Rats: Dannylonglegs (not very active though) and Darkdragon Although other members may have suggestions, these are the ones who will be making and giving out the final decisions in the game I will have to bring this to the attention of Ska, but I am tolerably sure that the first alternative is the correct one - and Sir Stig is completely correct about the index not dictating rules to the leaders, so until the leaders have given their final answer the question, well, it won't have a final answer! As for ships captured by the factions' fleets, they will be disposed of as the faction (leaders) think best (sold, incorporated into the naval force, etc.)
  5. Beautiful build Gideon, fantastic job on the dark red inset sections, and the roof is just superb as well! Excellent door (great use of that frog! ) too, and I really like the lantern there even though it isn't some new unheard off technique - still, those simple things can often really sell the build (and they do here! - though that's not to say it would completely ruin the build just to take that lantern away )!
  6. So our friendly neighbors are already settling in, eh? Seriously though, very nice build Ska, excellent work with that balcony, and the outside on the bottom floor is textured and finished off extremely well too
  7. Great job capturing the jungle feel, MS, excellent foliage and colors, and your palm trees are just icing on the cake! Wonderful incorporation of the stairs as well, and I'm really liking the posing of those warriors!
  8. Excellent build Capt. Wolf, lovely color-scheme and architecture, and the hustle and bustle fit the scene very well! Great job with the crates and boxes as well, and very nice interior!
  9. Excellent build Blufiji, fantastic work with the foliage and undergrowth, and the tower does not disappoint either! The trans-clear around the border is a great addition as well!
  10. Very nice printing press and printer's shop Ved! So pirates are the ones who invented the news!
  11. Lovely ship Bregir, the color-scheme - especially next to that wonderful water! - is superb, and I'm really liking the rigging, sails, shape, and the use of that net on the front as well! The only problem I can see with it is that it could use some polishing off by way of tiling the inside, which especially looks wrong because of the very smooth exterior - but other than that minor thing this ship is really excellent!
  12. Excellent ship, very cool studs out hull technique, and the rigging and sails are great as well! Can't wait to see that other one finished
  13. Excellent series of builds and story Elostirion, intriguing approach involving an entire rather extensive family! Very nice work on pretty much all of the builds (though the three in the middle could probably benefit from some more texture on the ground), but that last one in particular is wonderful!
  14. Very nice build sir, great use of that tile technique, and I don't believe I have ever seen that kind of tile wall look so good! Awesome weapon racks and suits on the wall as well, it's great to have you in Eslandola!
  15. Ah yes, certainly improved - and even if the reason was just to see the trees better, the tan does look really good anyways!
  16. What, hey? Well, we're open now so you can join the ETWC already Seriously though, I had been planning to open it pretty much ever since the beginning, but I figured it would be a good idea to wait for the start of a new month... guess that was a bad idea! Anyhow, yes, the openness seems to fit a lot better into Eslandola - that is, the more merchants and members we can attract into our settlements, the more gold for us all! Doubloons and country!
  17. I'll give you credit for the good portion of insanity alright sir! Just kidding, awesome vehicle, excellent work with those bellows, and the whole contraption is superb! Great rat-posing and landscaping as well, certainly one of my favorite entries to this category!
  18. Welcome to all ye new members (though you seem once again to have all joined the wrong trade company )! One another note, the ETWC settlement of Pontelli has now been opened to land ownership of members of any faction
  19. Awesome build Angeli, loving the bluish tint in those first few pics! Great job with such limited piece variation!
  20. The ETWC has now opened the doors to builds from all nations in Pontelli, licenced or not. For gold and country!
  21. Excellent build Full Plate, great work with the vegetation and campfire, and of course those trees! Very nice story-telling as well, I'm quite looking forward to more from you! The only thing that I can nitpick here would be that a differently colored background would make the trees a lot more visible, but it certainly is a great build nonetheless!
  22. Wow, very nice dragon here Exetrius, the trans-blue and trans-light green accents are really cool and your story is quite intriguing as well, even if it doesn't actually work with the Frozen Beyond backstory (I'm not sure myself whether it would be possible to add in or not...), and adds a new dimension to the whole Algus thing! Great job getting it built so fast too, though I certainly wouldn't have done that myself!
  23. Excellent flag and very nice dock here, and somehow all those exposed studs actually work! Welcome to Eslandola!
  24. Coming? (It should hopefully replace January's as the pinned registration thread soon)
  25. Great job with this build Exetrius, especially with the lava and the falling Algus!
