[Challenge 3] [Cat B] [H08] Awesome Awesomnium Delivery
Garmadon replied to Orange Leader's topic in AG1 Archive
Ah see, you really should have joined Octan! Nice build, your sig-fig does look great like this, though I can't say that the Kawa asteroid hopper wasn't in cooler colors... (Ok, I should never have admitted that! ) -
Nice build dr_spock, great use of the portcullis, and the ladder's leaving me wondering what's up there!

Nice warehouse Bart, I like the piles of miscellaneous ship stuff! Having the building resting on the posts was a good idea as well, and the red roof looks a little better than I would have figured! I would advise you to try to get a pic from a lower angle if you still have it built, it would be a lot easier to see everything that's going on Also, it would probably look better just on the posts without the extra large baseplate down there On game mechanics, you'll pick where you want the warehouse located. You can own property in Eslandolan territory and place your warehouse in a city (just state that you want to place it there in the settlement thread for that city, which we should hopefully be getting up before too long), though there is a very small chance of having your warehouse being taken over by the Eslandolan government. You shouldn't have to worry about Jacob getting hung, but if caught selling such stuff he might be ditched to the Sea Rats (though it appears that he wouldn't necessarily mind that all that much! ), but it is extremely unlikely that something like that would happen On another note, the prefixes in the thread titles are not necessary, just remember to register it via the freebuild webform and freebuild registration thread (which I see you've already done), so I'll go ahead and take it out of yours

The first month runs from the launch to the end of January No, for game purposes there is no need to keep you MOCs built (mine were all torn apart before it even got launched! ), and if you have a limited collection - well, I suppose everyone does! - it would certainly help you with future builds to take them apart. However, if you're planning on displaying them at some LEGO convention layout or something of that sort you might want to keep them built, but that doesn't have anything to do with the game

It is per month, as Captain Dee ably pointed out I believe that all builds (excluding builds for challenges) count as free-builds and will afford the 10DBs (or the up to 7DBs after the first two each month), so that would include any ships or property which you plan on licencing. That is to say, all builds are submitted via the freebuild webform whether they are going to be licenced for the EGS or not. After that you would use the ship or property webform to licence your builds so that they continue to produce DBs for you Oh, and you don't have to wait until the next month to licence the property or ship to earn the points for a freebuild

The History, Faith, and Present of Dearji (and others)
Garmadon replied to gedren_y's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Interesting build gedren, I like the cornerpost and the golden accents, and the first mate and captain are some nice figs as well It would be nicer if you could get some clearer pics though, have you tried taking them outside in the shade, maybe with a tripod? I'm also afraid it is a bit hard to tell the build is supposed to be part of a ship if you don't read it all! -
Very nice build Puvel, great to see you over here! The bookshelf with the vials on top is excellent, and I do like the maps strewn all over the floor! The plant, wall, and border are quite nice as well, so that would be pretty much everything! The only thing I'll have to interject is that you really should have joined Eslandola!

Nice little build, the flesh color works very well, and the white details are a great touch! I'm not quite sure about the light gray studs in the pillars which seem a tad out of place, but I certainly can see shrines like this being all over Oleon's mainland

Nice little build Matthias, though the crops don't look particularly safe from the pigs and rats! The ground might benefit from a bit more texture in the form of 1x1 and 1x2s in tan too, but overall this isn't bad for your first freebuild here!

If you're going bounty seeking, you might want either an armed vessel or a well rounded vessel (since speed and trade capacity are probably not of such importance), in which case you would go for either a Class 2 A or a Class 2 WR. If you went for a Class 2 A licence you could have about 6 - 10 guns max and a maximum crew of about 10 as well. You could probably make that vessel a junk if you felt so inclined. See the chart for further info on what counts as a class 1 or 2 vessel.

You could build a junk like that, but I'm guessing it would fall in the 3 range, and since 1 and 2 are the free ones, you would have to pay for the licence (200 DB, see the chart in the Building Ships... thread, where junks and barges are the last vessels mentioned under 3). So if you wanted a free licence you would have to build a sloop, cutter, galley, row boat, or some other thing falling in the 1 to 2 range. To earn the money needed to licence the junk you could post your sig-fig and a background story and vig, free-build a few times in the course of the next couple of months, etc, etc. Of course, you are allowed to build the ship first, and then build up the money needed to licence it. Yes, if you want to have a medium size fort, you will first need to pay the licence for a small, and then pay the licence to upgrade to a medium. I'm not sure if you have to MOC the small fort if you immediately intend to upgrade it to a medium - I'm supposing you probably would, but I'll leave Ska to give the final answer. As the primary purpose of a fort is to protect plantations/factories/cities/etc in its vicinity, a strategic place for a fort would be the place it would offer the most protection to your property or the property of your faction. Again, I believe you can build the fort first, and then build up the capital needed to licence it if you don't have the money right away (though it obviously wouldn't afford any protection until it is licenced). No, there is no problem bounty seeking all by your lonesome. All you have to do is enlist it in the MCRA (via the webform) before the end of the month (I believe the first MCRA will run during January, i.e., you will need to licence it before the end of January, and the results will probably posted around the beginning of February), so that would be the soonest you could go on your mission. Of course, you could just wait until February to licence your ship and sign it up for the MCRA if you wanted to Hope that all helps!

Very nice builds Simon, great to see you over here! Love the semi-organized clutter in the first build, and I particularly like the weapons rack in the second! Excellent wall technique there as well! -
Excellent build kabel, lovely color-scheme and architecture, and the rockwork and vegetation are superb as well! I'll certainly enjoy watching Nova Terreli expand!

Excellent idea to do a scene like this as a painting, and very nice execution as well! It might have been a bit nicer if you could have blurred the background a little, but I doubt that would really be practical with it so close to the minifig!
