  1. I hope not! I plan to still build over there fairly often (at least as much as before) and hope others do too - though Brethren of the Brick Seas will certainly be taking some of my building time away!
  2. Ha, ha, very funny and cool dragon Faladrin, the shaping and part usages are both very good, and the opening and closing mouth is a very nice detail as well! The build's presentation would certainly be improved by trying to get a less distracting background - have you tried with just plain paper? A couple of sheets would probably work for a build of this size, although larger sheets are better for bigger MOCs. Also, while I'm at it, I think the dragon would probably look really good on a blue background (which would make it stand out a lot better than the white)
  3. Lovely cutaway kabel, I must say, for once I'm really liking the exposed studs on the edge (though I might have tiles those by the window)! Excellent furniture, fireplace, and architecture as well, looks like a fitting palace for the king!
  4. Very nice native canoe, Bart, I really like the side arm (can't remember what that's called at the moment, if there even is a name for it ) and the appropriately large sail you've got there! For the water I would suggest either taking out the white pieces or adding a few more of them though, so they don't stick out as much
  5. Nice intro Bregir, the water doesn't look bad, and the island is quite nice! Some great figs as well, especially Cooke It is pretty clear though - ahem! - that it is Eslandolan territory and that they were just planting their flag there
  6. See the special in Challenge II: So if it is for challenge II you will be able to licence it, but in general I believe challenge builds are outside the EGS except for any special rewards given to the winning side or to each faction
  7. Excellent idea Captain Braunsfeld, and very nice execution! The monkey statues and palm tree are quite good, and the family working on the parrots are in very realistic poses as well... supposing of course that they don't have to worry about the birds flying away! I do agree with the others that the olive plants look rather out of place here, and the lime doesn't look quite right either, but I do like the black background as well!
  8. You've got the right Eslandolan spirit all right! Very nice build, the floor and walls are great, and the furniture is interesting and good as well! My main suggestion would be to tile the top of the wall with light gray pieces if you had them to make the build look a bit more finished, and I can't say I'm quite sure about the dark tan tile in front - the doorway, I suppose?
  9. Very nice ship Maxim, the sails, especially the two in front, are excellent, and the overall shaping is great as well, it's good to see Eslandolans at the thing they do best! Nice color-scheme and choice of cargo too! I do think it could use a little polishing up though, particularly tiling the black rails and over the cabin... but it isn't bad
  10. You can do it even easier by using the Link tool on Eurobricks (See the Bold, Italics, etc. After the numbered list comes the Link tool. Grab the text you want to link it to, then click the button and put in the link.)
  11. I just wanted to mention that the first two free-builds could be the residence, business, or ship (remember, all builds are free-builds before they are licenced), though obviously you could do the extra builds if you wanted to!
  12. Excellent build Simon, as others have said, that water technique is great! Very nice landscaping, foliage, and palm trees as well, and I like the idea of bringing the soldier along to do all your work, I'll have to remember that! I'm afraid I can't see much I would change here... so I'll just say ditto to what Gideon said
  13. I completely agree with Gideon - it is quality over quantity that counts, and receiving constructive criticism is one of the best ways to improve I certainly hope more and more members will be posting those sort of comments here. I don't think, however, that the EGS will provoke something like the barrage of builds every week on AG or the torrents which the Kaliphlin civil war produced, both of which made it very much more difficult to encourage quality and post helpful criticism on anything like most of the builds. I really do hope that the EGS will be something extra for the fun of it and a good story-producer, rather than the sort of game where people build almost more just to stay on top than to improve. But as far as I have been able to observe so far, that (the former) and a desire to improve has been the basic idea of most of those who have joined so far, so I think we're headed in the right direction
  14. Unless they already are (the ETWC) Then their only goal is to keep expanding to keep their place as the world's first trade company
  15. Awesome keep, Puvel, great job on the wall textures, and for some reason I really like the gold latices and flames there! Very nice landscaping as well - this is quite probably my favorite build from you yet!
  16. The status on builds and ships made before the launch of BoBS is that they may be used for story purposes to a certain degree but may not be used in the EGS, so no, you could not licence the ship. As to using it in a new MOC for the challenge, I don't think that is allowed either - one of the principle goals of Brethren of the Brick Seas is to improve its members building skills, so using MOCs built before kind of defeats the purpose
  17. Very nice build, Franco Clarke, the bed, desk and chair, and various artillery accouterments are excellent! I do suggest as Gideon did that more tiles or a SNOTted floor would probably improve the build though
  18. Excellent fort Captain Green Hair, the weathered look is captured very well, and it looks like a powerful deterrent to those not invited! The landscaping and palms are quite suitable as well. Glad that you saw the light and joined Eslandola instead though!
  19. Very nice build Maxim, the colorscheme and bands on the walls are excellent, as is the hinging feature and the interior! Good job showing the process of making the swords as well!
  20. Welcome to Eslandola Tuben and Elostirion! Now all you have to do is join the right trading company (the ETWC)! Oh, and great reference with the Manzana-apple in Román's story!
  21. Very nice story and fig MKJ, and good to see some more Sea Rat members! Really, your whole intro is quite funny!
  22. And Pontelli's settlement thread is also up (Ownership, ETWC, anyone may freebuild in Pontelli, but only ETWC members may own property there).
  23. Settlement Name: Pontelli Ownership: ETWC Location: Nellisa Mayor: Lady Asma April (@Captain Braunsfeld) Who can own property in Pontelli: Anyone, from any faction. Who can freebuild in Pontelli: Anyone, from any faction. Fortifications: One large fort and one small fort. Pontelli is also within the protection radius of the Royal Fortress of Nova Terreli. Troops: One platoon (locally raised). See the Pontelli Index. Please post any free-builds that take place in Pontelli in this thread. If you want to license a piece of property in Pontelli, you must be someone (in some faction)! Post in this thread and fill out the web form. The Settlement of Pontelli is encompassed in the defense radius of Nova Terreli's Royal Fortress. Map of Nellisa:
  24. I am under the impression that all builds are free-builds except those built for challenges which specify to the contrary, whether the builder is enrolled in the EGS or not. Licencing is something which comes afterward and does not change its status as a free-build (Ska or someone please correct me if I'm wrong about that). As to the EGS points, they won't be tallied up until the end of each month, so if you wish to know how much you have before then I'm afraid you would need to calculate it yourself, which is encouraged if you're planning on buying a non-free licence for a build before the month ends
