  1. The new backdrop works great As for the build, I really like the muted color-scheme, the angle, and the different texturing of the old wall vs. the new wall. Neat windows and corner brick effect too
  2. Sweet brickbuilt hull Looking forward to seeing this finished
  3. Sweet landscape, the colors all feel natural and I like the bit of swamp Clever target design, I don't think I've seen that done before. The two crows are a nice touch as well
  4. Really fantastic texturing, you make me want to borrow my brother's tan bricks and try some Kaliphlin stuff The roofs on top are my favorite detail Great crumbled bits as well
  5. Cool texturing with the 1x1 round plates, the dark bley/tan looks very good
  6. I tried to make this build as much like an official set as possible. The wall/tower can hinge at two points, there is a secret door hidden in the wall, and the trebuchet works. See the trebuchet in action here: After receiving so many requests to put Manaor Castle, or a simplified version thereof, on Cuusoo, I got to thinking about designing several smaller builds that could all be hooked together to form a large modular castle. I know a lot of Castle fans have always wanted LEGO to produce something like that, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'd be selling the sets myself. And I'd probably put the idea up on Cuusoo at some point, or even Bricklink now that it's going to have a MOC store. I'm not worried about selling tons of sets, 5-10 a year would be plenty for me. This is my first build/prototype for the project. I purposely tried to make this build like a set, so mostly simple building, a cool secret door in the wall, working trebuchet, and no super piece intensive techniques. I'm using official fig parts shuffled around to make two basic factions, blue/black and red/dark green. This build contains 406 parts, only one of which is a panel. There are plenty of useful castle parts: 18 bley headlight bricks, 4 bley brick modified with stud, 25 bley 1x1 brick, and 28 bley 1x2 bricks, and lots more. I'd be selling this set for 65$ which includes shipping to anywhere in the US. If anyone was interested in the set without figs, that would lower the price to 50$; or for just the wall tower and two figs that go with it, 40$; or just the trebuchet and its two figs, 20$. I'm planning to use LDD to make the instructions for the sets. For those outside the US, I'd be willing to sell the instructions by themselves for around 2-5$. I'd really like to hear some feedback from you guys on what your thoughts on the project are, whether it's feasible, what kind of sets to do, etc. I already have a lot of possible set ideas in the 20-30$ range and a few larger ones. Anyways let me know what you think.
  7. @Wat Tambor: Glad to have you in Mitgardia!
  8. Thank you Thanks, the next section of the story will be up soon Thanks, sitting would have worked well I think
  9. I didn't realize we'd lost anyone to LCC either, and I'm fairly active there As Mike S said, there aren't really any perks to LCC over GoH. In fact I much prefer GoH, more prizes, more established builders and the general maturity level is higher (because EB has a higher minimum age).
  10. Thanks for the critique, Captain, I think you're right in that the house is a bit small to be a manor. I built the base first, and at only 32x24 it was a struggle coming up with a good layout for the house that fit. I probably should have enlarged the base and made the house a bit longer/wider so it wouldn't look so chubby. The windows were actually the most complicated parts of this build, with the half stud offset, SNOT, and stained glass all incorporated. Your comment about "MOC Expert" bothers me a bit though, relatively speaking I'm still fairly new to LEGO MOCing and there are still lots of things for me to learn. Heck, even guys like DC sometimes have stuff that could be improved in their builds. Sometimes it's hard for the builder of something to be completely objective about it, I respect your opinion of builds and would have liked to hear your suggestions.
  11. Thanks Gunman, that pose could have used some improvement Thanks!
  12. Cool pew design :thumbup:The façade is excellent as well
  13. The purple accenting works great for Kaliphlin, and I like the shape of the tower
  14. Impressive landscape! The cliff looks great and I like the bushes
  15. Thanks! Thanks Matthew
  16. Thanks! Glad to hear this has inspired you Thank you, glad you like those tiles
  17. Very cool castle, I especially like the tower with rounded corners and your updated Black Falcon troops
  18. Thank you Thanks Thank you, I started off with just the dark bley framing, but then thought of adding the bley offset a half stud Thanks Carson Thanks Torgar! Thanks Gideon, my apologies that I didn't include a picture showing the interior, I meant to but accidentally put two pictures of the right side I edited it so it's there now though. Thank you, to build the windows you: offset a bley 2x4 tile by half a stud using jumper plates to make the bottom of the window frame, the you use plate modified with rail on their sides to attach the dark bley framing and make the sides of the frame, then you just top it off with jumper plates set out half a stud. I'll probably take some pictures of how I did it when I take the build apart
  19. Really neat idea with the looking through the telescope scene Excellent scroll as well
  20. Excellent phase 3 barracks My favorite bits are: the exterior staircase, I like this design a lot, though a railing on the outer edge would be fitting; the storehouse, and the large Mitgardian flag. The interiors look pretty good as well and you did a good job giving all your figs something to do
  21. Cool little outpost, the pigs pen and little lean-to are nice touches The window on the back near the chimney looks great
  22. I like the swords hung on the walls and the angled corner is an interesting touch
  23. Cool ship, I like the mounted crossbows The front looks a bit blocky, even just stepping back one brick at a time rather than the large jump you have would help.
  24. Interesting assortment of Nocty figs, I like how you filled the Kazaar's sack
  25. Cool lantern and I like how you loaded the canoe I rather like the multi colored roof for this build as well, though I'd turn all the cheese slopes on the roof to face the opposite direction
