  1. I built this for the "Taste the Rainbow" contest on Classic-Castle, and figured it worked well for a Kaliphlin scene too. The idea of the contest is to build a castle mainly out of a bright color. I was originally going to build a red/dark bley or bley 'brick' castle. But decided that there had been plenty of those done before. So instead I used blue/tan and tried to capture more of a middle eastern feel. It was a bigger challenge than I expected, particularly because I'm not familiar with the pieces I have to use in blue and tan. I'm not that happy with how the castle turned out, but I do really like the landscape. As always there's a full interior. Credit for the cobble stone design goes to Wat_Tambor. I'd like to receive UoP credit for: life in Kaliphlin [Anthropology], and desert [Geology]= 2 credits Lord Nordan (Glorfindel's father) meets with a Kaliphlin noble to discuss a trade agreement... There are a few more pictures here: link C&C welcome
  2. Thanks, and Gunman's right. It's the evil dwarf CMF torso
  3. @kabel: Somewhat I suppose. I never really stop building, just sometimes I go slower than others And my freebuild is up. And it doesn't have snow
  4. I have a free build finished that I'll be posting in a day or two @yooha: Too bad, I hope you can get back to building soon. I really enjoy your MOCs
  5. This is the second set in my series of custom modular Castle sets. It is similar in size and part count to what an official set would be. The wall can hinge and features a breakable wall panel for the ballista to knock down. The ballista actually works and is surprisingly powerful. Total piece count, including figs is 168 parts. See the ballista in action here: All prices include shipping to anywhere in the US. Price for the complete set is 25$ Without the minifigs: 19$ For just the wall and defending soldier: 18$ And for just the ballista and attacking soldier: 10$ All C&C welcome
  6. Two more excellent Mitgardian scenes I like your snow effect in the first build, simple but effective. The tree in the second build is a nice touch
  7. Sweet wall shape/texture Those windows are very clever as well I've thought about leaving holes for hoarding supports in some of my castles, but never actually did it. Your version looks great
  8. Superb wall texturing and I like the gatehouse shape a lot The dome on its side over the gate is a neat touch. Excellent army as well
  9. You can move on to Phase 2. The links on the first page are only updated every so often.
  10. Neat underwater approach, I like the numerous fish
  11. Sweet build, I think it's my favorite from you so far. The wall design looks great and I like the targets and details behind the archer That cobblestone technique is excellent, I'm going to borrow it for a build I'm working on
  12. Great color choices for the terrain, and those bushes are excellent keep the builds coming
  13. Lovely architecture, the gold/white works really well Cool to see that you included an interior as well, the bley stonework for the first floor looks great
  14. Excellent icebergs and clever kayak design
  15. Lovely ship, that brick built hull is gorgeous Excellent figs as well
  16. @ED-209: Thanks for the ideas, they're very helpful. I'm trying to make these sets as flexible as possible, so I may just have different factions available with the same set for different price points. I've used white/silver figs a few times: and really liked how they looked. So I may try that color scheme.
  17. I like the combination of stone/wood for the gatehouse The chimney on the blue house is a nice touch, and it's nice to see you included an interior. The purple stonework actually works pretty well
  18. Excellent tower the architecture looks good and I like the landscape as well
  19. Glad to see you back in Mitgardia, Etzel Your embassy build back in Book I is still one of my favorite Kaliphlin builds
  20. Magnificent layout, Simon. Your water design is lovely, I like how you did tan underneath the water near the shore this time My favorite building is the harbor, I think I'll try a roof like that myself soon with the cheese slopes I got from you. The stables is a nice addition, especially the corral ,I haven't seen that done much. Did you end up using all of your pieces?
  21. Despite your not feeling real excited/motivated about this build, it still turned out very well. Your use of color, as always, is fantastic and I like the dragon figurehead Great brick-built hull as well
  22. Your castle style is one of the most unique I've seen, it's really crazy yet it still looks amazing Great color choices for the build and training details are excellent. I like the fishing pole/musket style trees a bit better than the ice cream ones, as the ice cream has a bit too much texture in my opinion. Congrats on the frontpaging as well
  23. Thanks Gunman, and yeah I wanted the trebuchet to color match the army
  24. Thank you Thanks! I really appreciate your feedback. I'm going to try just selling the sets myself for a bit, and I'll probably be doing 5-10 set designs. Do you have any suggestions for what color scheme I should give the defending faction? I tried to use colors/torsos that are readily available/reasonably priced. I'm just getting the instructions made, and I'll look into what shipping would be to Australia
  25. Nice use of that large doorframe piece and the bulletin board is really cool
