[MOC] Chevy K5 Blazer
Igor1 replied to Madoca 1977's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@Madoca 1977, hello again! While assembling your Chevy, I noticed that you're using a combination of old and new gears in many of the connections. For example, a new 12-tooth blue gear comes from the servo motor, and an old 20-tooth tan gear comes from it. Similarly, in the axles, new 20-tooth azure gears come from the center differential shaft, and old 12-tooth black gears come from them. Could you please tell me why this is? Why are both gears in these gear connections not new? -

Thanks again for the reply! I didn't even know the red 2L driving rings were discontinued. I hope the new ones won't be so rare in 2-3 years. I'll definitely be building your Blazer using C+ first. But I'm thinking of converting it to PF electrics later, since I still like them better and I have enough Buwizz 2.0 to get rid of the heavy battery-powered control unit. I also really love all your old PF MOCs. -

@Madoca 1977 Thanks for your reply! There are already some skilled people who have been able to modify this with minimal changes (someone known as Revenant). All three differential locks can be easily modified with an old 2L driving ring 6539: What do you think about this? In this case there is only one new driving ring remains, which will engage the transfer case on the green gears. A simple resource would be to purchase the 42209 Volvo Electric Wheel Loader set and use it as a donor for one rare 2L driving ring 2473 and a 12-tooth green gear (bricklink cancelled Russia). -

Is it possible to replace/fit in rare 2473 parts (2L) in gear shifters with 18947 parts (3L) without sacrificing performance? 2473 -->18947 -

Insane! Аnd welcome back! You can't imagine how many people love you and are waiting for you in Russia! You're a genius and a legend! -
The model as a whole turned out to be amazing, especially in technical terms. In such a small scale, you even managed to make a quite realistic tilt of the car pillars and doors. The view is slightly spoiled by the too small wheels, but this is not your fault. I understand this choice, you made very realistic wheel arches, but Lego simply does not provide suitable wheels. I'm amazed that the company has been producing many car constructors for so many years and cannot make decent wheels in sizes of 55-65 mm. Many DIYers are still forced to install RC wheels. There are no suitable rims with the required wheel offset, no tires of realistic proportions, nothing. This is, of course, our pain.

What's happening with Technic?
Igor1 replied to Amt0571's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
There are liftarms with perpendicular holes inside. I'm really grateful to Lego for this as well as for the new frames, as it has changed the assembly of models for the better. The only thing is that the new liftarms are coming out very slowly and there are still few of them. Although the new micro panels are not so useless if they are used wisely for accents, and not molded from them like play dough. -

What functionality can we talk about if Lego hasn't released a single set with motorization this year. Not counting the misunderstanding under number 42176. And how it all started with C+ from 2019 to 2022. In 2023, there were only one and a half sets with classic C+ motorization, and this year they completely screwed up. The space theme brightened up the overall picture a little, against the background of repaints of their pretentious cars. I wanted to buy the Geländewagen, but the stillborn color in which it was released is just awful. Seriously, I haven't bought a single Lego set of this year this year. -

I had the same problem with BC2. The L-motor from the 42160 kit (Audi e-tron) does not pass auto-calibration in the servomotor mode. After that, correct control of the motor is impossible. The motor itself was connected to the original Control+ Hub.- 1,308 replies

Further proof that Buwizz.chose the wrong implementation for the body of their Buggy motors. The L-motor body is ideal for more powerful solution. MOC is beautiful!

More than sure, I practice this in my mocs ) nico71, I have just disassembled the front axle of the SUV especially for you to show where the axle ends when the PF servomotor is positioned in the opposite direction (the servomotor itself is removed).

To place a new differential under the PF servo motor, it is often enough to simply rotate the servo motor itself by 180 degrees, since it has an output to the axle in both directions. The moc itself is awesome!

Probably, you all can’t watch the toys video because it was initially banned for Russia. Usually we use VPN services from other countries, but not this time - the sanctions should work! )) -

Regarding the connection of pneumatic cylinders, have you tried connecting them crosswise so as to further enhance the work of the anti-roll bar of the suspension? If you connect the top of the right cylinder with the bottom of the left and vice versa. -

Great model! The suspension works amazingly! Can you please tell us in more detail how the performance of the suspension with sway/anti-roll bars changes directly in your model? Have you tried testing/comparing the suspension without them? -
The model looks and technically great, but it seemed to me that the body cargo area is very long. A shorter and lighter version without a winch would also be interesting.

Oh, with Lego wheels something should have been done a long time ago. The model is great!
