  1. It is good to hear how much you enjoy LEGO, always love a great story, however there are numerous threads on this subject, in fact one on this very page. So I wouldn't be surprised if yours gets little or no attention. No need to lose any sleep over it though, lol, I'm a conformist! and have fun. Fun fact, LEGO significantly changed my life and may have very well have saved it. That is why I love LEGO. Lol, so weird, what I said was censored, not at all inappropriate language. Oh well.
  2. You do have a valid point. Hopefully it doesn't start happening more now. It probably wasn't much of an issue at all in the old scale modelers, though, maybe doesn't go over so well now the two have been combined. Still I hope to see more from this build, really enjoy looking at all the little details.
  3. Lol, not a big deal too me but yes it does seem a bit disingenuous and a slightly underhanded technique. Still there are worse things and I enjoy the presentation.
  4. Yes, you really knocked it out of the park, great job indeed. Planes are notoriously difficult to build in LEGO form and I love seeing a good one but this is a whole new level, it all looks so good it is hard to focus on what I like best, although I am sure there are some not so perfect solutions used, I fail to see them. Above all, way to stick with it and not only finish it but share the great photos, thanks. One question, I assume you used some sort of blue print, this should maybe go in the scale modelers forum. I am no expert but it looks good enough to me, lol. Definitely front page material.
  5. Looking at my Batman display, one thing is conspicuously missing, bad guy vehicles and hideouts, or for that matter anything location based. So I would like to see some of that kind of stuff to go with my Batcave. Really, really not interested in any mechs period.
  6. Lol, yeah I still arrange and organize the elements, prior to building. Not necessary but it gives me a chance to look at and handle parts before knowing exactly what they are for. Gives me ideas of my own.
  7. I believe he does it for a living, so the faster it gets done the faster you get paid.
  8. Something else I have always wondered about your fantastic builds too and you have probably mentioned. Do you ever modify pieces or use glue? I only ask because sometimes I just can't see any other way of doing it. Keep the updates coming and thanks.
  9. Looks like a lot of fun too! I do think to make it look more buggy like though the whole front end should be stretched out a bit and also use different tires on the front. A smaller, narrower tire is usually on the front to make it steer better.
  10. Yes, nice to see you at it again, I always thoroughly enjoy reading the build process and seeing the end result. Do you make the prints yourself, or are they supplied by the customer?
  11. I remember when I first got back into LEGO, almost every set had something missing, lol, so after over 600 sets bought and built, I have only had three issues that required customer service. Those pieces can hide in the darnedest places, sometimes even in plain sight. The good thing is now I have enough spare parts to cover most any missing pieces, which I use as a stand-in until the replacement arrives. As others have already said the other two gears are likely in another bag and no I don't think it's necessary to count out all the parts before you start building. Unless maybe it is a used set and you don't plan on building it for some time.
  12. Argh, feel more and more like buying this set, just for the parts, don't care much for the original model but I do like what you have done here.
  13. Looks more like a tug boat than cutter to me anyway. Regardless nice little simple build, is this a B model by chance?
  14. Not what I was expecting at all, lol. Still looks okay.
  15. Not bad a little rough around the edges, still not too bad for such a simple set. One thing I just absolutely can't stand is those axles sticking out so far, however it is forgivable, not everyone has a half a million parts to work with after all, lol.
  16. Great to see you finished it, something I should do more of myself, I always seem to abandon projects once I get about half done, lol. I am sure that now that you have finished, you are ready to start the next one which will be ten times better, having learned from the first one. Now that you have finished your first one you have opened up Pandora's box, good luck and have fun, that's what it's all about.
  17. Great concept, great to see how you are working out the problems and making it work.
  18. Simply put LEGO is the brand on the box, not the name of the contents of the box, those would be bricks or elements. Not sure why that is so hard to understand, lol. I do catch myself occasionally saying Legos though and I don't correct others any more either. I don't say teethpaste or feetpowder or underarms deodorant either.
  19. Indeed, that is a great B model, very well done.
  20. The way it was for me and I always assumed most people, around 12 or 13 years old, I was done playing. It was just no fun anymore and I remember even trying to play with toys but it was absolutely no fun and seemed pointless. I did however get into seriously building plastic models even to the point of making small dioramas, that lasted a few years then I was done with that. Fast forward 40 years, I needed a new hobby and on a lark I picked up a Millennium Falcon set, liked it so much I bought the Technic Fire Plane next, the rest, as they say is history. Of course the changes to LEGO in forty years was huge and the building process had much improved as well, much larger and detailed builds. My entire way of "playing" with LEGO had changed as well. I used to build stuff and then incorporate it with other toys and actually play with it, now I am more about the build experience than the play experience. I have always considered this to be how it was for most other adult LEGO fans as well, although I am sure there are many variations and reasons.
  21. So now I find another article, apparently this set will be offered for purchase, only 5,000 USD and a limited run of 50 sets. Will be interesting to see if anyone pays the price and how popular sets like this will become. Source, Topspeed.com
  22. Very professionally done, amazing work. I actually just read an article on this, from my google news feed for autoblog.
  23. I have only had it happen twice, just called LEGO and they gladly offered to send replacement part. Fortunately out of over 600 sets, I have only had two issues, once with a common part and once with a sticker sheet.
  24. I would say that question has been answered in your other similar thread. Obtain permission from TLG to do so.
  25. Looking good and nobody is laughing, that is just part of the design process, using temporary stand in parts. I often moc up temporary whole vehicle bodys, just to get a rough idea of what the chassis needs in the way of connection points and size limitations. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
