  1. Something I found out, the new fork tubes from the BMW can be easily disassembled, the upper part makes a great canon piece for mocs, not that LEGO would ever do that.
  2. I think it is cool more people are finally realizing it is okay for an adult to buy LEGO, something I have had no problem with for many years though. Since I much enjoy the creative aspect, I tend to ignore those platforms altogether, no Facebook or Instagram for me, no time for their shenanigans, occasionally I will check out YouTube though. I am guilty of being a set builder but I often throw together small mocs and proof of concepts, in the process of building those sets, especially if new parts are involved. Very few of my sets stay together for more than a few months and quickly end up in the parts bin. May be hard to believe but this forum is about the extent of my social media presence and I really enjoy the way people help each other out, unlike many other places. To each their own, I just do what I like and could really care less what the masses think.
  3. Looking forward to seeing alphabet city
  4. A 2800 piece crawler crane would indeed be monstrous.
  5. Excellent, everyone should have one, your creations always seem to live up to your name. Keep up the great work, I always enjoy checking out your stuff.
  6. Seems like it would be very easy to rebuild it anyway, since there are instructions and not a great number of pieces. I would also expect to see the model in action, proof of function, before purchasing instructions as well. I do know that to turn a two wheeled vehicle, effectively, it needs to lean into the turn. I do like the looks of this model and the entire concept as well and will likely create something similar in the future.
  7. Very good point and crucial for making large shell like structures more robust and appear more substantial, definitely saves on weight and overall number of pieces to make a solid structure.
  8. Interesting article and while I do have a couple of those sets, this one, 42130 takes the prize for me.
  9. Having just picked this set up, I was examining the sticker sheet and accidentally dropped it, when I picked it up I noticed there is two sticker sheets, wow, that's a boatload of stickers. Got me thinking, is this the most stickers ever for a LEGO set? Funny story I wanted this set so bad, I rode my bicycle 10 miles in the freezing rain to get it, what an adventure, lol. Even though I have just started the build, I am very much enjoying it and I really like all the new parts and just the sheer size of the set. I actually expected more fanfare from this ground breaking set, instead of all the complaints about price and looks, still I can appreciate some of the scepticism as this is new territory for LEGO. Also thrilled for many of the new pieces and already have several ideas for alternate uses, will be great fun and may eventually pick up a second set, when it goes on sale, something that is rare for Technic sets here in the Midwest USA. Thanks for the great review, really helped me with my decision to get it.
  10. This news makes me glad I have been holding off getting this set, although it doesn't address all the issues, it is a step in the right direction.
  11. Looking good, nice progress, going to be interesting to see how you keep that whole front from seriously sagging though.
  12. Not sure what you mean, the rear tire is much wider than the front one and even slightly taller.
  13. Sounds like a good system, I will have to remember it. I kind of do that sort of coordinating on other building themes I do though.
  14. Pretty sure it is because of your post count. After a few more posts you will have access. Also keep in mind posts in community do not count, towards post count.
  15. I think one of my favorite recent city scale helicopters is the one from 60281. It really looks sharp, the back opens up to reveal a stretcher, plus the side pods shoot those big honkin water bomb missiles, those are fun. Or if you don't care for the water missiles just don't load them, the shooters blend into the body work and just look like regular side pods. I have a special fondness for LEGO helicopters as my first successful moc as a child was a helicopter. Also first time I discovered SNOT building, way back in the early 70's, before it was a thing, lol. So I do collect a great number of LEGO's offerings but I do try to stick with the better ones.
  16. Just built the new Police Car, my first new yellow pieces, it's kind of an odd color that is going to take getting used to, for me anyway, kept thinking it looked like non-lego bricks, lol. Aside from that I am pretty disappointed with this one, I think it could benefit from about a half dozen more pieces to start with and it reminds me of a mishmash of different cars, not sure why though. Basically it just seems like an odd design overall, oh well still glad I got it and added it to the fleet. I did like the last one better though and I am glad I got two.
  17. Oh yeah, absolutely cool concept, I have actually toyed with the idea myself, never close to anything like this though. And I also didn't consider, no rake on the front wheel, for steering, maybe something to think about for future builds.
  18. It would be nice to know a little bit more about it.
  19. Maybe they could put a dump bucket on the loader that can also be used like a dozer blade.
  20. I was wondering that too, possible it turns just by leaning?
  21. Great little set, well done, I do like the way you used the wires as part of the final model and love the belly shot. Probably the only thing I don't care for is all the holes in the body work at the back. Good job and thanks for showing it to us.
  22. Well I think there is a Formula car coming up, so I kind of doubt we would get another one at the same time.
  23. Interesting idea, never really thought of there being a distinct ratio. I do think there is also a certain style or look, aside from color to build Classic Space MOCS. If you don't find something or come up with something on your own, I would be interested in seeing it as well.
  24. Looks like it belongs there, good job, I really like the idea of the tubing as well.
