  1. I am very excited by this set and can see many opportunities to do it right and load it up with features and great looks. However I will set my expectations low, like I said in another thread, often I expect much and end up disappointed when the final product comes out, lol. Still I can't help but be a little stoked by this announcement.
  2. So maybe transforms between high speed mode and climbing mode. I would sure hope for more than just a simple track setup change but I know better than to set my expectations too high. I always end up being disappointed, lol.
  3. Both decent models, well done. This set has quickly become one of my favorites recently, I find myself rebuilding many different B models.
  4. Agreed, it would be overkill to include a battery box, exclusively to light a few LEDs. So I have been studying this set, as much as we can at this early stage of the game anyway. As much as I really don't care for it as a whole, I am very much looking forward to picking it up as a parts pack, looks like a lot of useful parts. At least in my case anyway.
  5. Impressive and goes to show a model does not have to be huge to be interesting. Very well done.
  6. This set has definitely sparked considerable interest from me, can't wait to see it. Especially looking forward to the new wheels and whatever solutions they come up with to overcome the obvious problems with creating a bike at this scale. What excites me most though is how it will open up a whole new scale for mocs.
  7. I believe it to be true and think it has to do with recent changes concerning safety. Something about the battery box, the new ones will require a screwdriver to open instead of a simply slide lock. There has been speculation that it may be re-released with updated battery box but who can say for sure. Glad I picked up one when it first came out, not really a big fan of the model itself but it was a great parts pack for me and my first and only PU set.
  8. This is my biggest gripe with PU, lol, not the only one but the main one. I suppose many have no issue with it but I find it extremely frustrating, so much so that I have shelved my one single PU set and am currently working on a PF moc with dual remotes and 4 motors. I never have to even look at the remote all controls work seamlessly, just by feel. So much more fun.
  9. Nope, not an option, if they did it would then be a "licensed" set.
  10. Really like the blade on that other one. Something that really bothers me and with all the things that should bother me about this set, my number one gripe is that propeller shaft running on the outside of the tracks. I suppose if it was pretty easy to hide it inside the model, they would have done so, still I think it totally detracts from the looks of an otherwise cool looking bulldozer.
  11. Lol, yeah I skinned my knuckles many a time cranking that Evel Knievel bike up, it was a lot of fun ramping that baby. Wasn't too good in the dirt though, a small piece of sand or gravel and the gears would strip out. Will likely pick up one or two of those stuntz sets for sure, the bikes actually look fun, unlike those stupid helicopters that were previously mentioned, total joke. Which remind me of the old SST cars that were around the same time as the Evel Knievel stunt bike, those were a real blast, they even had demolition cars where parts actually flew off the cars when they crashed.
  12. Great to see, I have actually worked on a couple of similar concepts but never got very far along. Still on my list of things to build though. I have been working on something like that but with actual terrain features, lots of obstacles to overcome, forgive the pun, yuk, yuk.
  13. Tops on my parts wishlist, was hoping the Ducati shocks would have fit the bill but no such luck. Maybe something with some dampening action even.
  14. I would recommend against it, not necessary at all. Sure picked a hell of a set to start with, should be fun, enjoy.
  15. Wow it sure carries a lot of ordinance, no wasted space under the wings.
  16. Lol, I have to say, I have never finished a moc. I tend to always change things around sometimes just a little thing other times, I may tear the whole thing down and start over. A lot of times, I make B models of certain sets those I do actually finish but I consider that to be different than an actual moc. For the most part though a moc is never finished, even if it sits on a shelf, neglected, for years. I almost always revisit it and make changes, large or small.
  17. Honestly, we are going to go through all this again.
  18. Not sure why and I am sorry if this comes off a bit too strong but I hate it, lol, just looks plain sloppy to me. Really not trying to be offensive, not even sure where to start, so much I don't care for. I do feel like it could be much improved though and shows great potential, maybe it's just the style of building I don't like and I would have said nothing if it didn't show promise. As I said please don't be offended, just one persons opinion, that doesn't amount to a pile of beans.
  19. Wow that is news to me, I certainly wouldn't think LEGO has the power to control how many sets you buy from other retailers.
  20. Had to vote no, love my LEGO but I care none for any large corporation, too much greed and wasted talent. Just my opinion and I recognize it is likely a necessary evil but I just can't buy into the hype, that is a major corporation.
  21. Be very interested in seeing how it turns out, can't wait to see it.
  22. The "one" I have is still working, about a year of very light use. Anyway there are two screws in the bottom, so it looks fairly easy to switch out the battery. Just opened up, just a simple 3v coin battery looks pretty easy to change. One thing too, although you probably already tried, sometimes you have to hold the button down for a second or two for it to actually start, instead of the one light coming on for a split second.
  23. My choice for starting out with PU was the buggy, I thought it made the most sense to check out PU with and I still think I made the right decision. Not only for two L motors and Hub but also for those new tires and new Lift arms with alternating holes, the big gear wheel, two soft shocks, two hard shocks and the front suspension components. All stuff I have found very useful for other mocs. Also the new differential. In fact, considering the price of other PU sets, I may actually pick up a second copy, if I can find one, they seem to be getting a little harder to find.
