  1. Here are a few more pictures featuring my printed road designs. These ones were created to showcase my first attempt at designing a MOC modular building.
  2. Is there so far any solid evidence that we definitely will be getting a Creator Expert roller coaster at some point,or is it just an assumption based on the fact that Lego have started producing the new roller coaster tracks in other sets?
  3. I have also read rumors that the second D2C could be an exclusive new jurassic park set. Hope this is wrong though and it does indeed turn out to be the roller coaster.
  4. This looks fantastic. There is so much detail and so much going on, you've captured the hustle and bustle of a harbor/port really well.
  5. That's a brilliant idea to use flippers as roof tiles. Thanks for sharing some of his other pics as well, really clever parts usage. I assume you've seen the pictures of his layout as well, it looks stunning.
  6. I'm very exited about this new LOTR amazon series. Do we know if it is supposed to compliment the Peter Jackson movies or will it be an entirely new approach and reboot of tolkiens stories? It would be great to think it could spawn some future lego sets but even if it doesn't it might popularise castles and medieval fantasy enough that lego could relaunch a Castle theme of some sort.
  7. Well thanks very much, that's really kind. You're lucky to live near such a beautiful city as Paris. If you're first MOC ends up taking inspiration from French and Parisian style architecture then can't wait to see what you come up with.
  8. This one is my favourite of today's picks. It looks a very typical style of building you'd find in London and all over Britain. I like the detailing and decorative elements around the windows. There is just the right amount of detail there to make it look realistic but not too fussy and overly intricate. I also like the way the roof has been tiled.
  9. The roof looks fantastic. I think people often forget about the details on top of the roofs as it's not something we tend to look at in real life all that often. I think you've captured brilliantly what the top of a sky scraper looks like though with all the mechanical elements, ventilation systems etc.
  10. I was in a similar situation to you and have just completed my first MOC modular building. As this was my first attempt I decided to start with a fairly small building that was made up using parts I already had in my collection. So this MOC was basically made up from only the parts found in 3 of my sets. I designed it using LDD (lego digital designer) which can be downloaded for free and is really good and pretty easy to use in my opinion. I would also recommend following this topic by @LegoModularFan This is mostly focused on designing modular buildings but it is a great topic where some of the top experienced MOC builders on eurobricks share their tips and advice. I found it really useful when planning my first MOC. Anyway good luck with your first ventures in to MOC building. It is a very rewarding and fun side of the lego hobby. I must say after completing my first design I enjoyed the process very much and am already underway on creating my second MOC.
  11. Many thanks @LegoModularFan for adding me to your list of MOC builders in the first post. not really sure I'm qualified yet to give tips on building as my convenience store is the first one I've designed. There are a couple of things I learned from building my first MOC though that may be useful to other beginners and people who are just getting in to it. I can definitely echo this comment by @fillishave. I designed my building using LDD which I found very fun to use and pretty user friendly. The whole design came together pretty quickly and it wasn't long before I felt it was finished and I was ready to have a go at building it with real bricks. It was only at this point when I realised the LDD model was nowhere near finished. After seeing the model built for real there were a lot of things that looked good on screen that just didn't look right in real life, so I went back to the drawing board and made quite a few changes until I got it to a point I was happy with. So I think LDD is a vital tool for designing mocs but there are certain things that are difficult to visualise and create without using actual real lego bricks. Another thing I'll say is that since I started designing my own modulars, I have become much more aware and observant of buildings in real life. It's amazing how much inspiration can be gained just from looking at everyday buildings all around us. A few weeks ago I was shopping on my local high street and I found myself looking up at the roof details on the shops and buildings that I normally wouldn't have given a second look at. Some of them were really intricate and I found myself considering how they could be recreated with lego. I actually grabbed my phone and took a few photos much to my wife's amusement. Anyway this has proven to be quite a useful tool for providing me with inspiration and ideas, and I definitely think it helps to make lego mocs look more realistic if some of the details are based on elements from real buildings and architecture.
  12. This looks really excellent. The blue building looks the most detailed but I think my favourite one is the red building with all the flowers on the front. This really sets it off. The interior details and the back of the building are also fantastic. The design of the facade is on par with an official Lego modular. Really great work!
  13. Wow this looks great and very realistic. I really like your trees as well.
  14. This has never happened to me personally but I'm pretty sure I remember reading a review for Assembly Square a while ago where the reviewer mentioned one of the bags was open inside the box. I wonder if it could be an issue with these sets and the particular factory they use to produce them.
  15. This is breathtakingly good. Every inch of the ship is crammed full of details and the rigging and sails look outstanding. Really really great work!
  16. Your station is very impressive indeed. Also your new farm house looks great also. I especially like your brick work and the tiling on the roof.
  17. This is a very attractive looking MOC. I especially like the inclusion of water around the building. Didn't realise until I checked the other pics on Flickr that this is supposed to be a water Mill. One of the other pics shows the wheel at the back. It looks great.
  18. Ok thanks. I'll mark that in my diary.
  19. Thank you very much, that's very kind. I did try to get as much detail in to the small space as I could so I really appreciate that comment. Thanks a lot for your comment, I'm glad you like the model. Thank you very much! I naively thought it would be easier for my first MOC to limit the parts to ones I had available in 3 existing sets. It did turn out more challenging than I expected though. Thank you. As a beginner it is very encouraging to receive comments like this from experienced moc builders like yourself. Thanks a lot!
  20. For me Assembly Square is just about the perfect mix. It has an insane amount of interior detail but is also a big model from the outside as well.
  21. Well now that we're in to April, surely Lego will soon start to release some official images of their summer sets. There are already people who have made up their minds not to buy the new trains purely based on what they've seen on the blurry leaked images. I don't think it would do TLG any harm to give us a couple of high res pics to look at. It would give people a much better impression of the sets than having to rely on dodgy leaked images.
  22. Has it been confirmed yet when exactly this years new trains will be released? I know they are due out in the summer but does that mean June, July or August?
  23. Thanks very much and glad you like it. I think the middle floor is my favourite too. Even though that one wasn't supposed to be the main focus of the building, I still think that floor probably turned out the best in the end. Thanks . I have to say your Piazza Maria is one of my favourite MOC lego buildings. So to receive a comment like this from you is great encouragement. Many thanks.
  24. It might be an April fool but if only it were true.
