Full images of the Pirate tree house have now been revealed. https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-creator-treehouse-treasures-31078-revealed/ When the blurry pics of this set first leaked a few months ago I had thought that the secondary builds might be legit Pirate models rather than Children playing as Pirates. This is clearly not the case though unfortunately.

Thank you. Would love to build it for real. Just need to look in to how much it will cost me to order the bricks I need.
-
Well I'm still hoping we might get a new Pirate wave next year. If they weren't planning on doing one then surely it would have made sense to hold back the pirate rollercoaster and tree house until next year and then they could have been marketed as subtle anniversary sets. My hope is that we'll get a complete new wave of sets similar to what we saw in 2015, or some sort of D2C Pirate ship.

Thanks a lot. I haven't made any instructions yet, but this is something I might consider doing. Thanks so much, glad you like it. I'm looking forward to seeing your pub when it's completed. When I first joined EB I remember your mocs were some of the first I came across. I was most impressed to see how it is possible to create digital versions of lego buildings without using real bricks. This was something I'd never considered before so it was after seeing your designs and some of the other great mocs from other builders as well, that inspired me to have a go myself. Yes I did use bluerender to create the images. Thanks for the advice. I will have a go with Pov-Ray, I'll post the results here if I have any success. Another thing I'm considering is making instructions for the model. I'm very much learning as I go along with all this though. This is only my second moc. Do you ever make instructions for your own mocs and if so, can you (or anyone else who might be reading this) recommend the best software for generating the instructions? I've had a quick go with using BluePrint but the default steps it spat out were not very logical at all. It would be a pretty long winded job to go through and customise each step manually. Are there any better and simpler options out there?

[MOC] Big Ben 10253 alternate model - The Lounge modular
Bricked1980 replied to Huaojozu's topic in LEGO Town
This is great. A very nice looking building especially considering all the parts are taken from just one set. -
Wow. I thought the newly revealed lego city hospital looked good, but this is in a whole different league.

So unless I've forgot any, the only city sets left to be revealed are the new trains. I bet either tomorrow or Friday we will have pics of those too.

[MOC] Wedding Hall (10211 Alternative build)
Bricked1980 replied to Inyongbricks's topic in LEGO Town
I have seen this before and some of your other alternate builds on Flickr. They are all fabulous and very cleverly designed. This one looks particularly nice. Great work.- 10 replies

Thanks for pointing this out. Actually I'm a bit disappointed now I've seen a high res pic of this set. It looks a great one for the kids though.
-
Yes you're right. Just been looking at the pictures on "The Brothers Brick". It looks a great set. Pics on the back of the box make it look as if the floors can be separated like a modular building.
-
My money is on it being a Mike Psiaki design. It just feels like one of his designs to me and the brick built lettering is done in a pretty similar way to downtown diner. Hopefully within the next 48 hours we will know all the details.

Thank you very much. Actually whilst I was making this MOC I did consider the possibility of submitting it to Lego Ideas. Problem is it ended up becoming bigger than I'd originally planned and is now well over 3000 pieces. So it is too big to submit in it's current form. I could reduce the size and make another less detailed version but not really sure it would be worth the effort. There are some phenomenal modular building that get submitted to Lego Ideas and none of them ever get selected for production. Also even if mine was lucky enough to get 10'000 votes I doubt Lego would ever produce a set based around alcohol consumption. Thanks a lot. Many thanks for your kind comments. And yes I was definitely inspired by the awesome designs and presentation skills of @paupadros Thanks very much. A few people have mentioned the design of the roofline. It is actually a fairly simple build really. The part you mention that looks like a shield is in fact a technic brick with a flower piece attached to the exposed stud on the front. https://brickset.com/parts/design-47474 Here is a new image showing a close up of the roof.

This is really nice. I love the bright striking colours and the Cafe sign lettering. Also I like the clothes line on top of the yellow building. Great work!

Thanks a lot for the kind comment @koalayummies Thanks very much!

The Brothers Brick have revealed new official pics of the pirate rollercoaster including new higher res images of the 2 alternate builds. I reckon this set looks great. https://www.brothers-brick.com/2018/04/23/lego-creator-31084-pirate-rollercoaster-first-official-pictures-news/

No I didn't mean that to sound as if I won't be making any more mocs. I thoroughly enjoyed designing my first two especially the latest pub design was a lot of fun. I do have ideas for future models so hopefully I will get round to starting on another one soon.

Many thanks for your kind comment. I spent quite a bit of time trying to think of a recognisable British pub name that I could add a lego twist to. This was the only one I could think of that as far as I know hasn't been done by anyone before. The name is inspired by the Queen Vic pub in Eastenders (for anyone reading from outside the UK this is a popular drama show based in London). That's where the similarity ends though. Apart from the name my pub isn't supposed to be a portrayal of the pub in Eastenders .

Black Falcon's Fortress Re-Imagined
Bricked1980 replied to Mark of Falworth's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This is brilliant. Instantly recognisable as the Black Falcons Fortress, but so much more detailed. Great work! -
Does anyone know, are there any outstanding product numbers left over that could potentially be a train station? Or should we all now be giving up hope.
-
Many thanks for your kind comment. Your pub is brilliant. I promise this is the first time I've seen this MOC by you but even so there are quite a few similarities. Even the names are quite similar.

[MOC] Star Dust Drive-in Theatre - Lego ideas
Bricked1980 replied to fillishave's topic in LEGO Town
I've just read your comment on my MOC, many thanks for that. Your pub is also brilliant. Regarding the renders. I expected it was probably some professional quality software you'd used as the images are photo realistic as far as I'm concerned. For my pictures I just used BlueRender which is pretty limited in what you can do but at least it's free and fairly simple to use. For the signage on the pub I just added these in afterwards using photoshop. -
[MOC] Star Dust Drive-in Theatre - Lego ideas
Bricked1980 replied to fillishave's topic in LEGO Town
Another thing I forgot to mention... Your pictures are great and I would have found it very difficult to tell they are rendered images if you hadn't mentioned it in your original post. Would you mind telling me what software you used to render the pictures please? I have recently added my own MOC project to Eurobricks with all the images made up from digital renders but they are not as realistic looking as yours. -
[MOC] Star Dust Drive-in Theatre - Lego ideas
Bricked1980 replied to fillishave's topic in LEGO Town
This is a really lovely model. Just as with your "House of the Inventor MOC this looks very professionally designed and I can honestly say if this was selected by Lego Ideas and produced for sale I would definitely buy it. I think you've made it just the right size and included the right amount of details for an Ideas project so hopefully this will stand a good chance of reaching the 10,000 votes. The three vehicles you've included are great. My favourite is the truck but I also love both the cars. Great work! -
This is a really great and fun moc. The building itself is great and I really like the vehicles as well. Fantastic!

Think this is my favourite of today's picks. I have a bit of soft spot for any moc buildings that feature trees. Not sure why but I think adding a tree helps to give some organic shaping and contrasts well with the square blocky nature of buildings. If I ever make any other mocs I would definitely like to have a go at featuring a tree or two. By the way @LegoModularFan congrats on reaching the 500 posts milestone.
