This looks great. Love the little trains with the skull faces. You should get this uploaded to LEGO Ideas.

This looks a beautiful model. The close up shots showing the architectural details look great. Look forward to seeing your updates as you progress with the rest of the square.

This looks incredible. The close up shots panning over the surface of the walls look amazing with the tiled brickwork and how you've used varying colours for the bricks looks very realistic indeed. I agree with @LEGO Train 12 Volts comment about your trees. They look fantastic too!

That Water Tower is very impressive indeed. I missed this one last week too. Will go check out the main post now.

LEGO Ideas Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Just seen that a new Ideas showcase article has been added to Brickset and my traction engine model is in it. https://brickset.com/article/37919/ideas-showcase I would have thought the Tron set will be available for quite a while yet. It only came out a few months ago. Ship in A Bottle is still on sale and that came out at the start of the year. -

I'm pleased to see this one reach 10k. I've been following its progress and I know the guys have worked really hard to get it there and have produced some fantastic images and animations of the model along the way. I'm glad all that hard work has paid off for them. -
Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
I've done a bit of searching and here is an image of a harvester being transported on the back of a truck. Something like this recreated as a Lego set would be pretty awesome. I like your other suggestion too of a harvester dumping it's load in to a truck. I can definitely imagine Lego making a set based on something like that. -
Online Rendering
Bricked1980 replied to Scrubs's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
This is just incredible. In my opinion as close to photorealistic as it's possible to get. I have only been use mecabricks for a short time so still have much to learn, but I have to say how impressed I am with the rendering system and how quick and straightforward it is to use. -
Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
The first thing that came to my mind was one of these combine harvester machines. I believe lego released a model of something like this a few years back and a new one would be very welcome indeed. However these are massive machines and the name of the set would imply that it's another vehicle "transporting" one of these things. Not sure how that would work and what sort of huge vehicle could be used to transport one of these beasts. I think whenever we get set names leaked early they can often be taken with a pinch of salt. They are often leaked from non English language catalogues, and when the titles are translated it can end up meaning something slightly different. A good example is creator set 31077. When this was leaked earlier in the year everyone thought it was going to be some sort of pastry shop. Of course in the end it turned out to be called sweet surprises and nothing to do with pastry at all. So this harvester transporter could end up being a vehicle carrying harvested goods like logs or wood. Or could even be a truck or something carrying vegetables, fruit or other produce from the harvest. Who knows. Whatever it turns out to be it does sound as if it has the potential to be a good set. I hope it does end up being a farm or harvester machine of some sort. I really wanna see some farm vehicles and sets released. My Ideas Traction Engine would feel right at home. -

Just been reading through and am excited to hear discussion of some new city Farm sets. Is this just speculation or has there been a leak that there definitely are some farm sets coming out? -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I agree. Another good example is Parisian restaurant which in reality would obviously have more than just 2 tables inside the restaurant. As you say, the modulars have only ever had simplified interiors compared to how they would be in real life. So for this reason I reckon a hotel would make a great modular. In fact the more I think about it, this does seem to be one of the most likely candidates for the next set. -

This is very frustrating for you. It's not very helpful if they won't fully explain the reason why it was rejected. I can only assume it must be the Soviet flag, maybe for political reasons. -
Thanks very much. Now I've figured out how to see all the colours that are unavailable I'm just trying to work out a recoloured version of the model before I order the parts. The model I want to build is actually my Lego Ideas Traction Engine. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2a2ec583-9836-4868-8dc7-6b3bb0a2fe80 I did use quite a few unavailable colours in the model but I've been offered the chance to possibly exhibit the model if I can get one built. So I'm just in the process of making a revised version that doesn't look too drastically different to my original model.

Thanks for all the tips guys, that's really helpful. Thanks very much, I have been messing around with Stud.io this evening and that seems a great way of easily showing all the colours that are missing. I noticed this as well, my model has a couple of chain pieces in light bluish grey. When I import the model in to Stud.io it says the parts aren't available in that colour. If I manually search for them on BrickLink though it says that they are available. I've had a very quick go at using the wanted list feature in bricklink. I may have done something wrong but It gave me an estimated cost for my model which was far higher than I'd expected. It was showing up as around £140. There are less than 300 parts in the model so I think a lot of the cost was coming from the multiple delivery charges I'd have to pay. Is it sometimes cheaper to buy the parts directly from Lego using Bricks & Pieces and just having the one postage cost to pay? If so is there a quick way of uploading a parts list like you would do in Bricklink or would I have to manually add all the bricks to the basket one at a time? Many thanks, I'll have a look at that.

Hi everyone I have a model set up in LDD and I am now at the point where I'd like to order parts to build the model with real bricks. The problem is that many of the parts are not available in the colours I've used. Does anyone know of a simple way of showing the parts that are unavailable so that I can swap them out for colours that do exist? Or is it simply a case of painstakingly going through the model and checking each brick one at a time? I wasn't sure if there is a way of uploading the model to Bricklink so that it automatically highlights the missing parts and shows alternative colours that are available instead. Sorry if this sounds like an obvious thing to most people. I'm a bit of a novice with this though and although I've built lots of models in LDD I've never actually ordered parts for the models before and have quite limited experience of using Bricklink as well.

Just seen this and given it my support. It only needs around 1250 votes but now just 15 days left. It's a great booking building as well and would be heart breaking for the designer if it just falls short.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
That's interesting. I wonder if it means the new Expert set containing the plant based pieces will be announced in November rather than actually released that month. If so then that would almost certainly be the next modular. I'm making lots of assumptions here but maybe if they are gonna push the fact that it's got plant based stuff in it then could that be emphasised within the theme of the new model. Maybe a Modular Garden Centre or something related to plants. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Has it been confirmed that there will be a new Creator Expert set in November? If that's true then personally I don't imagine they'd re-release one of the classic modulars just 2 months before the presumed release of the brand new 2019 modular. The only way I could think that might happen is if they did a modular re-release "instead" of an all new model in January. I for one would love to see GG get re-released but not if it meant they were doing that instead of giving us a brand new model. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Bricked1980 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I agree and I'm hoping that this years release is not food related. I can't imagine them releasing a similar theme 2 years in a row. Does anyone think there is any chance of Lego releasing a modular Post Office? This is something I'd really like to see. -
A really great model from you once again! Got to agree with the other comments about the flower baskets, they look terrific. I really like the bright colours and different techniques used for texturing and details on the walls. Although it's a different setting, I reckon this would look great positioned next to your recent harbor side pub.

This is looking very promising. Think I like the yellow building the best, especially with the arches at the front supporting the upper floor. I'm thinking of trying a similar idea myself on my next moc. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out when it's finished.

What do you guys think of this design? https://archbrick.com/2018/07/30/white-house-modular/ It's by a moccer called Antonylegocreations. I can't embed the images as I don't think he's on Flickr but I first found this on Instagram earlier today, and then noticed it had been featured on Archbrick last week as well. Apparently it's his first modular. I really like it. The interior looks pretty cool as well with its grand piano.

I wonder what their response would be if the main set had been bought from amazon or somewhere other than s@h. Surely they wouldn't still supply one for free them
-
This is awesome. You cannot fault lego for customer service. A few weeks ago I ordered the exclusive microscale brand store set. When it arrived the box was dented and crushed in the corner. They sent me out a brand new replacement and also allowed me to keep the damaged set free of charge. @sed6 please let us know how much they charged you for the extra engine. The fact this set only comes with one loco is one of the things that puts me off getting it so if it's possible to buy a second engine at a reasonable price then I will definitely be interested in buying the set.
