Is LEGO entering a Dark Age - or am I?
Digger of Bricks replied to Hive's topic in General LEGO Discussion
^ This ^ I'm not saying that they should completely head this direction, but I think Lego should take after Playmobil more, focusing on more classic, archetypical themes like Lego once used to. Playmobil may not be the powerhouse that Lego is now, but someone is buying their toys, and I'm sure that many of Lego's current offerings don't have much appeal to that demographic. -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
The last one turned out to be a four pack of generic adaptations of various past CMFs from the regular non-licensed line. Rest of Lego Toys R Us Bricktober 2017 Sets Revealed I will say, they are cool, especially the sailor recolored in Earth Blue and dezombified S14 Cheerleader. -
As a fan of Retro-futuristic concepts and other "the future that never was" type stuff, this new Power Functioned project by KristianBeuscl was really cool to see. Zeppelin LEGO Train

LEGO Ideas Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Okay, so one other project has made the Second 2017 Review before the deadline, and that is whatsuptoday's NASA Saturn-V Launch Umbilical Tower. It is the sixth and last project for the review, making it a rather small one. 6 Projects Qualify for the Second 2017 LEGO Ideas Review Maybe some addition carryover projects from the First 2017 Review will be added on if they are still up for consideration; but if not, I'm somewhat afraid this review will turn up with no winner. By default, the I Am Your Father project is already not on the table, so that leaves us with only five up for consideration. Anyone have a good guess what the most plausible winner of this review might be? -
That's what I was thinking, but I thought I'd ask him anyway. I had just made a request post on the Embassy's part suggestion topic for such a part, and afterwards spotted that piece browsing through his Blacktronite site.

So not just Space, but Retro Space? SWEEEEET!!! Thanks a lot for the date!

If these boxed CMF based promotions are to become a trend for awhile, I personally hope we will see a Space themed one in the future. Specifically, wouldn't it be cool to see a dual figured pack similar to this year's cave themed one, coming with slightly recolored versions of the S1 Spaceman and S6 Intergalactic-Girl. Perhaps the S1 Spaceman's suit would be recolored in Light Bluish Grey, while the S6 Intergalactic Girl's suit would be redone in Bright Reddish Violet. Also, Space fans would definitely love this helmet in those recolors. I guess a Castle themed pack would be cool also, perhaps including variants of the S13 King and S15 Queen.

Whoa, brutal! That venquiltrist in tweed is kinda cool; should we expect the full series in about a week? Also, will there be any Space themed CMFs in store? I really missed those from the previous series.

Brilliant! I think this is perhaps the first time I've seen Astro Kitty outfitted with her own CS themed ride! Nice subtle usage of the Wolverine claws for whiskers.

Alright, that '61 Vette is pretty cool, especially with that windshield in Trans-yellow. Funny, even though I knew that Lola in AoS was a '61 Vette, I didn't even think about the fact that technically the hovercar featured in the Detroit Steel set is unofficially Lego's first take on that model. The set may not be directly entied to the show, but the inspiration is of course obvious.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Oh well, thanks for that though @AgentKallus of Hydra. It's nice to see a part breakdown of this pack, and now I'm wondering if historical fans could be able to repurpose that black Spartan helmet. Maybe not, but perhaps it could at least be nicely reused on a fantasy character of some sort if not historical. Now as pastel as that Easter Bat-torso is, perhaps someone can reuse it for a more serious Batsuit variant. Edit: Here's the full Promobricks review that image is sourced from if anyone is interested. https://www.promobricks.de/review-lego-toysrus-bricktober-2017-lego-batman-minifiguren-5004939/41055 -
By the way, do you @1974 have a better standalone picture of this one transparent cone piece seen in the center of this picture? I can't tell if the part has smooth sides or straight, angular ones. A one brick high cone brick is a part I would have been definitely interested in if it were produced.

Body Battlers: A "New LEGO Theme" of MOCs
Digger of Bricks replied to Nuju Metru's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I've checked out your work for all four waves of your Dragonlands theme; and I'll say, you've really got knack for creating some amazing playset like creations! By the way, how many sets do you have in store for this theme? Have they all been completed or is it currently a work in progress? -
LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice find! The YouTube poster of this video is actually the creator of this early concept trailer, according to the video's description. There are a few interesting variances in the individual knights' designs; particularly, Clay dons a cape, Aaron has a plume and single eye HUD, and Axl has an overall more brutish barbarian look. By the way, I wonder if @Nabii has found some of the earlier concept art for this theme he said that he would be willing to share with us? -
Dang, that Diablo is awesome! You've really nailed the wedge side profile perfectly! I've always insisted that if Lego were to do Lamborghini for the Speed Champions theme, they would have to create a new, steep six wide windshield part for its sets. But after seeing what you have done here, maybe that canopy part would work just fine!

This is slightly related speculation, but I wonder if we will ever see TLG tweak the current minidoll in the near future for additional articulation, particularly next year. Why? Well I'm wondering if this will be necessary if we were ever to see minidoll characters make an appearance in 2019's The Lego Movie 2. This seems to me to be highly possible given what we know about the major role Finn's sister plays in the sequel. It just would be awkward to see minidolls animated within the confines of the established rules for motion of characters in the cinematic movies done so far. But then again, WB could just cheat with the animation irrespective of the actual physical product.

2017 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for sharing that! It was said somewhere earlier this week that one of the four figure packs to be offered next month was a Ninjago Movie based one. So now we'll have to see what the fourth pack is based upon. Like Target figure cubes, the City offerings are always too generic for me unfortunately, being based upon any of the subthemes current at the time. I would be much more interested in City offerings if they were perhaps more like CMF archetypes, such as uniquely designed citizens that would contribute to people packs. -

So what is this from, a Lego Club magazine? If so, that would help sort out the whole US/Europe release enigma. Edit: I found a Reddit post about this image, and one of the commenters said this is from the latest Lego Life magazine.- 1,601 replies

Body Battlers: A "New LEGO Theme" of MOCs
Digger of Bricks replied to Nuju Metru's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
What a quirky, novel concept! I'll just say, I haven't seen a hypothetical theme topic for awhile now, at least for the time I've been a member here; but having said that, I can't wait to see what you have in store for this project! It's interesting to see many of these 50's sci-fi MOCs pop up on this forum all of a sudden, primarily thank to @PaddyBricksplitter. I'm sure he will also be interested in this project. Edit: By the way, you should share this idea on @Peppermint_M's Future Action And Adventure Themes topic, she also would love this idea! -

Say, I really like that mod! To me, it kind of is like a marriage of Benny's SSS and 2009's 5974 Galactic Enforcer. Maybe that's just because of the canopy, but still, it works quite nicely. Now I have to say, one of the earlier builds on this topic I really dig are those Deep Space Fighters. As simple as they are, they have a sleek, automobile aesthetic I like.

HOLY SHIP!!! This thing is monstrously beautiful! That last rear shot of this behemoth is seriously impressive! Dang, if only Lego could do a serious airship, I'd be sold; and I'm not talking about a hot air balloon on its side. By the way, is that a Jurassic World Gyrosphere mounted on the front of this ship?
