Thanks @Rick! I know I may be a member here now, but at least for those still lurking here, it must be a relief for some to see the return of the Embassy. Any chance that its obscuring from guests was in part due to a software upgrade glitch?

True, those do have some pretty good success on Ideas! The thing is though, most successful 10K modular formula projects have been rejected in past reviews since they were made as contributions to the existing Creator Expert line of modulars. This eventually became apparent, and therefore more users there started submitting modular projects that stood apart from the Creator Expert line. The one most noteworthy and successful example of this is this year's 21310 Old Fishing Store, a set most well received by many fans. So case in point, if one were to consider a modular formulated project, make a standalone one which doesn't lean on an already existing line.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part
Digger of Bricks replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Here is the full Collider article linked on The Brick Fan for anyone interested. http://collider.com/the-lego-movie-2-story-phil-lord-chris-miller/#sequel-details With the starting of production and revealing of these additional details, this all has me wondering if maybe we might see an official title card and/or announcement trailer for the sequel unveiled at New York Comic Con come the weekend of October 5th-8th. Also, and this is kind of really reaching here, perhaps maybe such an announcement may also come with the potential greenlighting of future cinematic spinoffs, but it would all depend upon the success of The Lego Ninjago Movie a few weeks earlier. According to the article I initially linked, the filming in question will take place in a studio in British Columbia, so I guess it will be involving live action scenes primarily. -

Called it. The sequel's release date currently is February 2019, so I wouldn't say they're running that late. -
What old themes should lego bring back?
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's true, also considering that Castle may be a better candidate for the Expert theme as opposed to Classic Space since its source material would be a lot more familiar to general consumers. What's a Blue/Grey/Trans-yellow spaceship to most people outside of AFOLs and those that grew up with the sets? As a normal three in one Creator set though, it's just to kids a cool, colorful spacecraft that has some alternate rebuilds that parents may find cool themselves even if they aren't familiar with its inspirations. Castle, on the other hand, would probably be attractive to those general consumers that would be interested in the Expert modular series or other highly detailed architectural D2C sets. Unlike Star Wars and other licensed UCS sets, the Creator Expert Modular series is made up of original designs with real life inspirations, something Castle based D2Cs would have in common with the line. -

I dig Superman's "sheepish" grin. Presumably he may feature an alternate expression right? An uncomfortable, awkward expression like this one would certainly be nice. -

What old themes should lego bring back?
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think that the non-Expert Creator theme can be a proving ground for testing of those themes success in the current market, since their price range would be more equivalent to that of an actual theme than an Expert Series set would. Also, regarding the nature of their builds, I think that may eventually change and evolve over time. For instance, looking at preliminaries of next year's sets for the theme, there does seem to be more of an overall shift towards minifigure centric sets, which shows it's eventually evolving towards something more accommodating for classic themed type sets. ^This Too^ -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Well hey, at least Green Arrow comes with an old fashioned bow and a quiver of arrows both in green, which is nice for those that don't like Hawkeye's bow for the character. -
Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Aside from the presumable solo DCEU Aquaman set that may or may not happen, I think plausibly we could see either additional Justice League Action based sets and/or sets based upon Young Justice. As far as that live action Titans show goes, I don't think it will be relevant enough for most consumers, let alone kids since I don't think it's going to be marketed to them. -

Well unless you don't mind them, you would probably need to sandpaper off those "briefs" prints. Oh, and as far as what shade of blue that is, I'm also pretty sure that is Dark Azure. -
[REVIEW] 70616 Ice Tank
Digger of Bricks replied to makoy's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Same here. Those Trans. White canopies in a unprinted form are a first, which is nice; but still, to have any canopy recolored in a transparent color other than Trans. White or Trans. Black is always is a much more ideal scenario. It just could be that the designers chose that for the canopies for visual differentiation between the cockpit area and the ice mixer under the rear tail of the tank. Otherwise, it may give the impression to some that the tank's cockpit has been flooded. -
I'm not sure if this exactly is the right topic to ask this, but it seemed to me to be the most appropriate thread to do so. One of the reasons I joined this forum after being a lurker here for so long, is because I was perplexed at the sudden disappearance of the Embassy Forum awhile ago. It was a forum I visited often, specifically the main Ideas discussion topic hosted there. I looked all over the place for the forum after it seemingly disappeared, and for awhile thought the forum had simply just been dismantled. But if that was the case at least, I presumed they must of have moved the Ideas discussion somewhere else. Couldn't find it at all, there were even no traces of it in frequent members activity feeds, nor the All Activity feed. But after I eventually joined, I was relieved to see it still existed, but still curious as to why it now has been completely hidden from non-members currently. Does anyone here know why this is the case?

Its interesting to hear that the Jurassic Park franchise is not synonymous or under the umbrella of Jurassic World. -
There is a lot of new TV spot footage I haven't seen in that compilation, thanks for sharing!

Body Battlers: A "New LEGO Theme" of MOCs
Digger of Bricks replied to Nuju Metru's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Well, Gastro's Diner is certainly a fun, appropriate flagship set to conclude this wave with. For me, the most clever part of this set is your usage of that one strange Trans. Neon Green snake part from Ninjago used for the neon signs of diner. That just works awfully well, it was the first thing that caught my eye. All in all, this has really been a fun, novel series of set creations! They are all great in their own respects, but your initial Chevrolac set is still the crown jewel of this wave! I should add, your Antibody officers were also a fun character addition to these sets, I kind of really liked those. By the way, do you have plans for another wave for this theme in mind? If not, any other theme ideas in the pipeline? -
Hilarious, and honestly not a bad idea! Come to think of it, this is probably the first Blacktron II MOC I've seen on this forum in awhile now. The old style black plastic wheels work nicely on this. Looking forward to seeing the other vehicular sections of this!

Nexo Elf?! Is that a complementary Elf archetype for the Nexo Knights theme or is it a more vaguer Techno, Cyberpunk Elf?

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Digger of Bricks replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Presumably, Egghead has the same coattail element donned by both TLBM Alfred in Earth Blue and Disney Castle Mickey in Black, so having it in White is nice. -
Well, though it wasn't a Juniors set, we did get that one Maui bigfig in the one of the Moana sets; so bigfigs have been used outside of older boys' themes. If you look at the Wiki article I linked for next year's sequel, it says that nearly all of Disney's Princess characters will be making appearances in the film voiced by their original voice actors. Also, some Star Wars and Marvel characters will appear in the sequel, to some degree or another. I'm not sure how much of a role any of the princess characters will play in the movie, but since its technically marketed towards boys, hypothetical sets would feature minifigures as opposed to minidolls. So maybe, such sets may perhaps give us some of those princess characters in minifigure form.

I should add, I really like the Rag Doll's teddy bear with its rustic, Boyd-like colors and prints, including its old plaid bowtie. My mom has tons of Boyds teddy bears, so seeing that is kind of cool. By the way @Robert8, I remember you mentioning earlier on this topic your interest in a Batman: The Animated Series CMS. Are you still interested in that, and if so, would you perhaps be planning on designing one in the far future after the completion of Series J?
-
Oh my, there are actually quite a few figures in this CMS I seriously dig! For one, the Retro Robot is not quite what I was expecting; but nonetheless, it looks great and its base color of Sand Green would make it pair well with the S17 Retro Space Hero. Also, a red raygun would certainly be great! Some of the others here I really would love TLG to do would be that old fashioned movie director, the rag doll, the female rogue, and definitely the pilgrim. If Lego did a pilgrim though, I would want it to come with a new live turkey mold, something I know @Roebuck would be thrilled about! Scrolling down, I saw the text read Jetpack Guy and for a split second thought it was going to be a Rocketeer type archetype. Well it wasn't what hoped for, but that still a rather cool figure, something I'd definitely would be interested in if it were done for an actual CMS. All in all, you've done another awesome, diverse CMS with a great selection! Looking forward to Series J!

Does anyone think that Lego might consider doing at least a Juniors subtheme of sets for November 2018's sequel to Wreck-It Ralph next year? Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 - Wikipedia

I have a few less specific suggestions, some that may have already been suggested on this topic that I may elaborate on in detail in the future. If any of these ideas inspire you to expand upon them in this topic's suggestion fill out form, I would love to hear what you may have in mind. For historical archetypes, how about a Babylonian King and/or Soldier, a Victorian Gentleman and/or Gentlewoman, an Arabian Prince and/or Princess, an Oriental Emperor and/or Empress, an Evil King and/or Queen, a Frontiersman and/or Frontierswoman, a Calvary General and/or Soldier, and finally, a Dutch Boy and/or Girl? For fantasy archetypes, how about a Sorceress, a Swamp Monster, and a Fantasy Knight (the kind you would see on the gaudy cover art of 1980's fantasy paperback novels )? For science fiction archetypes, how about a Space Cop, a Time Traveler (something Steampunk/Jules Verne in style), a Classic Space-themed Starfighter Pilot, a female counterpart to the S17 Retro Space Hero, and a generic Superhero and/or Superheroine? For City centric based archetypes, how about a Barber, a Professional Cyclist, a Canadian Mountie, an Archaeologist, a Bird Watcher, a Film Director, a Female Hippie, a Prom suit guy, a Fly Fisherman, a Golfer, and finally a Train Conductor and/or Engineer? What a great idea! When I first saw that new TLBM Mr. Freeze armor piece, I had thought the exact same thing! I had made a similar suggestion earlier on this topic for a villainous archetype as a counter to the S17 Retro Space Hero proposing usage of the same armor part recolored in black.
