  1. OK, thanks for clarifying. I just suppose it's the lighting in that photo, but I indeed would have been so thrilled to learn that gun was instead done in Copper. The Gold is great, but Copper would have just been ten fold better.
  2. Do these "Disney related" sets sit under the broadly named "Disney" theme (the one all Disney Princess sets got relegated to in 2017), or are these sets under a namesake theme of their own?
  3. Ah, an unlicensed one, right? Do you know if it is the "computer world" set constraction theme we heard rumored of a little while ago, or is it hopefully a System based one we haven't heard of already?
  4. Um, about that Killer Moth. Is that raygun actually Copper Metallic, instead of Pearl Gold like we had all presumed?
  5. Over on Promobricks in the link below, there's a teaser image from the 2018 1HY catalog for City's Arctic subtheme. Nothing really, other than a single arctic explorer figure with a husky wearing a supply pack. But, the explorer figure does seem to be donning what looks like to me to be a bomber hat in Bright Red (pictorial example shown below link). https://www.promobricks.de/lego-city-2018-polar-forscher-kehren-zurueck-teaser-im-neuen-lego-katalog/49166
  6. Well, if we are getting a second D2C for TLNM theme, I would like the same to happen for for The Lego Batman Movie, as I felt the Joker Manor wasn't the greatest of D2Cs to get for that movie. I'd love a Gotham City modular much like the Ninjago City one, as that's what I was hoping for before the announcement of the Joker Manor set.
  7. The S13 King for me, though I feel that the Roman Commander will end up winning this one, as the King may be a bit too cartoonish for some. Either way, it will be an interesting matchup in the end.
  8. There are probably a vast number of recolored parts from this year I could mention, but for me, the one particular standout recolor from this year is canopy part 21849 recolored in Trans-yellow. And, even though we didn't see much usage of it during its introductory year, Copper Metallic is definitely the color of the year for me. Here's hoping we will see much more usage of it for 2018!
  9. As blurry as the set pictures were, the TV show based sets look solid from what I can tell. As for a SECOND D2C set for TLNM, I'm a bit baffled that's actually going to happen, given the movie's lackluster box office performance. I wonder if the set will feature scaled down models of some of the ninja's mechs. Dieselpunk? Maybe more gritty, but from what I can tell, I don't see enough of an Art Deco, 1940's WWII aesthetic in those set images.
  10. Well nonetheless, this is all very interesting, but all we seem to be hearing about are licensed themes for next year, lots of them. I mean come on, where are all the new in-house themes we are supposed to be getting instead? I want to see the return of smaller scale themes like Power Miners, Ultra Agents, Galaxy Squad, Kingdoms, Pharaoh's Quest, Atlantis, Monster Fighters, etc.
  11. I just hope that these two Fantastic Beasts sets come with some worthwhile minifigures we can repurpose for some 1920's, prohibition era citizens.
  12. Oh, so it's The Nightmare Before Christmas? Legend of Zelda? Adventure Time? Jurassic Park?
  13. Remember that strange circular 4×4 base that came with Polka Dot Man in the Ultimate Batmobile? I thought that would eventually be the next CMF display plate right after the fact starting with the TLNM series, but perhaps we will we see its debut in Series 18?
  14. Beetlejuice? Is this information from that leaked 1HY catalog first shown by Promobricks, and are the two Ideas projects that you speak of both based upon a single license? The only two times I remember that happening were with the Ghostbusters and Doctor Who franchises (but maybe I'm wrong about that part).

While I would have scoffed at the idea of post-apocalyptic CMF a few years ago, it doesn't sound as far fetched now, as we've seen a few Ninjago waves in recent years with villains that seem to come awfully close to that look and style. I'd imagine such an archetype would be called something along the lines of "Highway Bully" or "Wasteland Wanderer". Have you seen this design of @Robert8's?
  16. If anything, I think they probably should push back The Billion Brick Race to February 2020, as that installment is slatted for May 24th of 2019, only three months after The Lego Movie's sequel.
  17. Sure, I just hope that it won't be a (insert animal/inanimate object here) suit guy party 2.0. But, I also do hope that by that time it will be a Series 20, and that 2019 will have room for at least Series 19. I don't want to see a year without at least one regular series, as that's a precedent I hope will never be set.
  18. I wonder if Disney will want to merchandise this movie into the Disney Princess franchise, therefore making it all the more possible to see Lego follow suit.
  19. Around what time in 2018 would you guys expect WB to release the official synopsis and new casting announcements for the sequel? Any plausible guesses? If there ever was a Lego movie focused primarily on Disney properties (Marvel and Star Wars included), I'd best guess it would be completely non-canon and different from WB's cinematic universe, kind of like Sony's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Or, WB and Disney strike an agreement to share Disney characters to become a part of WB cinematic universe movies with no charges or royalties under the condition that Disney takes all profits from any cinematic Lego movies focused on their properties, much like the Disney/Sony Spider-Man deal. Honestly though, I think the only Lego we'll ever see in any Disney movies will be as cameos in films such as the Toy Story franchise and potential Wreck-It-Ralph sequels.
  20. Actually, I would prefer that scenario instead, as I'd much rather want to see an original, in-house take on the genre over a licensed one. Now maybe I'm wrong about this, but I think this movie is perhaps the first major motion picture to really delve into the Steampunk genre, as others only featured elements of it as opposed to a fully realized alternate historical timeline.
  21. I can see why. Well, it goes without saying, but I find that some of the most beautiful Lego creations are those that aren't scaled recreations of particular real life objects, but those that flow with the System to create inspired reimaginings of those objects. Being a corner building, that one looks like it's just waiting to be reimagined as a modular, if you can capture those wispy curves.
  22. Huh, the choice between the TLNM Shark Army Great White and the S9 Chicken Suit Guy was tough, but only because I could care less for either figure. Now I hope that the S9 Forest Maiden and S10 Warrior Woman do well in the next game, as those two are amazing CMFs.
  23. Wow, I forgot about those guys. Along with those interesting helmets of theirs, I like your updated color scheme of Dark Red, Earth Green, Reddish Brown, and Dark Bluish Grey.
