  1. Sure, that would be a win-win for both parties. Besides, sets and/or themes that incorporate modifications and/or alternate builds are always most welcomed, for me at least.
  2. As much as System based "big bang" themes can annoy me, I know that they can have the potential for something more of my liking down the road. In retrospect, regarding Nexo Knights, it has been my favorite amongst all three of the more recent System based, supplementary media driven "big bang" themes. The theme has given us some AWESOME parts, and Ice Planet 2002 fans have gained some great Trans. Neon Orange canopies and parts from these sets. So, whatever may be next in succession after this theme, I eagerly anticipate it. But like I had said, the chances of that ever happening are absolute zilch. With the House of Mouse at the helm, there's seemingly no end in sight. Oh, well okay then. A fantastical take on the nautical genre might produce some interesting results, but like with Nexo Knights, taking the theme in that direction might not fare well with Lego Pirate fans. Come to think of it, 2019 will be Lego Pirates 30th anniversary, and if we have a new "big bang" coming that year... Oh dear.
  3. Well, from what I can see, I like how the Mustang Fastback turned out, with its color choice of Earth Green. Personally though, I would have preferred if it weren't a racing version of the car, but I guess you would just simply leave off those particular stickers.
  4. I know it doesn't pertain to animal molds, but does the arctic explorer standing next to that husky look like to you he's wearing a new hat mold? To me, it sort of resembles a bomber hat.
  5. Since there was a successful Ideas project based upon that locomotive, I'd think it could be likely too; but, since Doc's locomotive time machine appeared so briefly at the end of the third film, I think a better choice of a set would be one based upon the locomotive that propelled the time machine off the cliff in the third movie's finale. It would be made up of the black locomotive with tender, the railroad track modified DeLorean, and a stretch of straight track for display. Three minifigures would be included, who would be Doc and Marty in western attire, and Clara of course. Besides, such a set with a plainer looking locomotive would then be more of interest to Lego Train fans.
  6. Ha! Actually, those are the new rollercoaster 45° curve pieces introduced in the Joker Manor set. Brilliant reusage of them to say the least.
  7. There is now a leaked catalog spread for all the sets for the Speed Champions theme on Instagram under #legoleak.
  8. Well, looks like I was wrong about my last prediction. The King vs. the Elf it is then!
  9. The thing is, this topic was more intended for sharing your own ideas for new action/adventure themes, not really for speculation. This topic though, posted below, is probably more suited for plauable speculative discussion and rumors. I'll give a hearty AMEN to that though!
  10. For me, preferably, I'd like to see a Dieselpunk/Decopunk/Teslapunk take on the Adventurers theme, filled with fantastical warplanes, mechanical men, mad scientist barons, sky pirates, ancient doomsday devices, etc. To me, that sounds like that's more than enough to make for one wild "big bang" theme! Yeah, but, it's hard to imagine how Lego could create a band of heroic pirates with well meaning intentions, as pirates are typically portayed as amoral opportunists. Not unless Disney halts all the other anthology spin-offs that are in the pipeline AND Rian Johnson's planned FOURTH trilogy to be following the current sequel trilogy. Like that's ever going to happen. ^ This ^
  11. The only thing is, which topic should we now engage in speculative discussion of possible future licensed themes? If someone has actual rumors of a new licensed theme(s), it should be discussed on Cornelius's topic you directed us to. But if we want to engage in plausible speculation (not wishlisting) of what new themes may be on the horizon, is there another topic for that?
  12. That looks pretty darn impressive! I do think that 4×4 angled brick works really well for the back of the mech.
  13. Indeed, that or all the posts in this topic get split up into other respective topics.
  14. Ah, OK then, never mind my last post on the other topic.
  15. Definitely more sure for January of 2019 than for the summer of 2018?
  16. Seems like it, and it's kind of annoying me. I think both of those are quite plausible, but I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up getting a cleaned up remake of the initial set. Hear Hear!
  17. I definitely could see any one of those two scenarios happening sometime next year, though I'd be quite disappointed if the latter one happened. If the film gets pushed back to 2020, good, at least we would have an open slot for some other CMS for then. But, I do wonder how far along TLG had come with designing sets and products for the movie, if any progress at all that is.
  18. Unless Nexo Knights outperformed the usual expectations in the same way Ninjago did, the theme should run a typical three year lifespan, therefore making this its last year anyway. Chima came the same year Ninjago was supposed to wrap up, and Nexo Knights the year after Chima wrapped up. So yes, I'd definitely be expecting a replacement "big bang" theme for the System come 2019. But, if that theme were to come this summer, I have a wishful theory as to what it could be. Given Ninjago is a hyperbolic take on the late 90's Ninja subtheme of Castle, Chima being a action themed take on Fabuland (at least that's how I see it), and Nexo Knights as a science fictioned mesh of Castle, perhaps the next "big bang" will continue that tradition of being inspired by past themes. What if this theme could be based upon/inspired after the Adventurers theme? If we are to indeed see the next "big bang" theme to arrive this summer, then 2018 would be the most appropriate year for one inspired after Adventurers since it would be the theme's twentieth anniversary!
  19. I initially missed this piece of news amongst some of the other leaks, but dang, both of those sound like wild sets, especially the AT-RT! Wouldn't it be crazy if this set reintroduced that one shade of metallic blue, the one seen on these guys back in 2002? If so, it would be the perfect color to construct both Gypsy Danger and/or Gypsy Avenger.
  20. That's a really different Santa you've done there! Any particular portrayals/depictions you've used as inspiration?
  21. Yeah, and I've imagined every possible way Lego could pull off a Space theme that doesn't resemble Star Wars, but I really don't think Lego will even attempt anything unfortunately.
  22. Much like the second BTTF Ideas (CUUSOO) project that was rejected, I'd hope for a USC/Creator Expert scale DeLorean time machine, just to make up for the lackluster constructed minifig scaled set we did get.
  23. I just want to know what this potential replacement theme suggested by @Falconfan1414 may be and how soon we may expect it.
  24. The Marvel/DC Super Heroes themes are pretty broad in their scope, so sets based off of prior movies really aren't out of the question, it's just that Lego already has enough sets to base upon upcoming movies anyway. If Lego were branding each line of sets based upon a single currently relevant MCU entry under that movie's name (that is, as a theme in as of itself), I'd think there would then be less of a possibility for sets based upon past films. Uh, monopolies aren't really a good thing in the broader scope of things, so I really wouldn't wish for such a thing to happen solely for the sake of having Lego within reach of more licensed properties. Unless you are being sarcastic, if so, apologies for not perceiving that on my part.
