  1. nice! I'm a fan of pneumatics and glad you used them for this, it reminds me of the 8851 but a modern smaller scale version. I also love how you scetched it first (even though it came out a little different) I'm sketching a lot of mechanical ideas too (mostly at work so I kind of get some LEGO design stuff in at work) thought i may have been the only person these days to sketch stuff that's a good thing. but also a bad thing reflectively.
  2. cool bananas man these are great and would be very well placed in a LEGO modular setup (10246 or 10251 for example)
  3. Congrats to all winners and contestants! Well deserved winners. Many thanks to the eurobricks team for organising these contests, no doubt there is a ton of your time involved. I'll be entering any more if I can for sure. And thanks to LEGO of course for stumping up very nice prizes! Also thank you to all who voted some points to the Carniveil
  4. You very close to be having to move that land rover over into the scale modellers forum
  5. Great review Jim! It makes me feel like I've built it already even though I'll never be able to own it. my little contribution to space slugness... once ubiquitous in the galaxy these wheel eating slugs have almost been eradicated thanks to hover propulsion. Wheels are now nearly a thing of the past in the galaxy, watch out to anything left with wheels...
  6. how much of a difference does/did two main boom cylinders make to try and stop the fast dropping of the boom? it looks like you linked up the hoses close to the cylinders which should also limit cylinder air escape velocity time blah blah also is that the 8851 bucket? looks great on this set, so I may do that sometime as I have that bucket being unused for 30 years, I want to use it sorry i know this is relatively old post but I'm almost finished this build (yes a bit behind everyone) what a great set! especially for the price.
  7. I really like your vehicles! that fire engine is fantastic. a bit low like mentioned but nothing a plate on top of the axle wouldn't fix?

    U.BER

    glorious! this is inspiring me.
  9. Funny I was only thinking about something like this this morning. You've showed me how it should be done this is awesome! love the looks too! thanks for sharing your personal story too. And yes, glad you can find some fun again
  10. Thanks for the feedback @mocbuild101 I don't mind hearing a bit of critique. and as I haven't gotten too many votes maybe there is some more critique from others to help me on my future builds? Always happy to hear! good luck to all contenders!
  11. Great model! Love how you did the 'axles' its good that you spend your money on Lego instead of editing software haha, I enjoyed watching, it looks like you have nice hands
  12. 18: 10 8: 6 21: 4 22: 3 9: 2 19: 1 That was difficult to vote and a but surprised how my vote went in the end after what I was originally thinking, but I applied lots of formulas and points and charts. Good luck everyone.
  13. there is two sets of stairs so maybe there is confusion there. anyway this thing looks awesome! I have still to build the 42054 but from all I've seen so far, this should be the B model (retaining CLASS licence use etc). nicely done
  14. Awesome! Not a fan of guns etc but I do like the machine guns and how they operate And did I see the second EMP hit the fuselage
  15. Got to say this looks very nice! Except the steering selector stickers wonkiness... Nice work. Should have been the b model.
  16. I'd just like to add my 'how awesome this is' great everything and love the older race cars. this just works with full technic panels too
  17. Haha, c'mon man, that's like saying that the Ion canons won't blast anyone off the track because its just rubber hose, or the washing machine ride won't actually Make anyone sick because they will enjoy it too much. this thing looks great, swings well and turns awesome. Could be a real set.
  18. awesome. funny how the bricks just fly off and you (I) could hardly see the spinning thing hitting them. looked good. looks like a whole bunch of fun to operate. did you find all the studs...
  19. Perfect rowing motion. thanks for sharing, it's great!
  20. Thankyou for great comment! looking forward to properly going through all the other entries now I have time.
  21. thanks for kind comments. its great to have finished as it was a little stressful to find time to build this thing and thinking I may not get it finished in time. I guess we all have that problem though. good luck to all, its been fun! I might get around to building 42053 and 42054 now. Yay, just following instructions sounds good for a while.
  22. This is a very well polished vehicle from those great photos, no wonder you sat back with satisfaction. I sat back and looked at mine and thought about the Homer Simpson mobile. Looking forward to the video.
  23. abandon from tc12 or altogether? I was really looking forward to this working.
  24. CARNIVEIL Carniveil. If a wacky race is all about fun then there should be some carnival rides. And one operated by children (scale dictated children) just can’t be refused! Free sandwiches and free rides for all wacky race entrants on the ‘plunger’ (a turning, gut churning gravity drop) and ‘washing machine’ (just gut churning). From the era of blocky Lego and blocky graphics comes the look of the Carniveil to honour the early nineties wacky wheels. All manual features of the Carniveil include -HOG steering -6cyl engine driven from the driveline at two locations -‘washing machine’ ride driven off the vehicle driveline -‘plunger’ ride driven off the driveline through a double differential, one way output that lets the plunger operate in only one direction regardless of vehicle direction. -‘clothes dryer’ defence operated by 2x Lego string (x77ac50) -adjustable height front seats for carnival mode and race mode. -drivers steering operated by head swivel of driver (attached to HOG and seats) -‘Veil’ mode (fire engine) - clutch switch to disengage plunger for ‘Veil’ mode. My interpretation of the wacky race was like the Mille Miglia or cannonball run where all the race happens with normal citizen activity through Lego City. The idea of the Carniveil is to upset all the tummies of other entrants by supplying food and rides pre-race. Then when the race starts, the Carniveil, having to start at the back of the race so no one sees, transforms into the fire engine and speeds off through the field as all contestants must let emergency vehicles through. Then the ‘clothes dryer’ is deployed once at the front to stop other racers getting by. Don’t try and force your way past or you’ll end up killing children…Which is not in the spirit of a fun wacky race.
