  1. Thank you for commenting @icm, I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I built this model as a test to see if i could get it build for under $150 USD, which, according to Bricklink, might just be possible as long as prices stay stable for a couple more days. I really did not want it too be too expensive, or touchy with physics, as too many of my projects look good on LDD and don't look so good in real brick. For example, I tried to mockup a spinning arm segments for the solar arrays that ended badly because it was just too weak and I couldn't get it any better, no matter how I tried. As to the Benny ship, i replaced it with a different, mini-figure scale model and restructured the post with new pictures and text such as the screenshot above. Please take a look at the first post for more details.
  2. I don't normally post in this section of Eurobricks, but as a fellow person with Autistic-spectrum disorder I would start with something rather small, such as this set seen below. I admittedly am not much of a Technic fan @Chilly, but I do know that a beginner Technic builder with learning difficulties *should* have little / no issue with the above 170-piece set.... unless he doesn't like stickers, then you might have to do that part. I suggested this set because if he doesn't like the Technic system, you don't want to spend gobs of money on a set he doesn't even want. If he does like it, there is a set coming out in 2019 (not out yet, should be by Jan 1st) he might like 579-part set number 42093 (Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1) as seen here: Now, the older, smaller set isn't made any more and is numbered 42046 ( Getaway Racer ). If you can't find it on Amazon, their is always Bricklink. I know they aren't pickups, but they are a good start to his lego technic collection from my standpoint as fellow autistic person.
  3. Sorry for the major bump, but the first post has been completely reworked with revised vehicles, new text and real world photos galore with more to come soon. Enjoy!
  4. NOTE: This car was NOT my design as I used the awesome video instructions made by @hachiroku as seen here based on the Lego Incredibles video game. I just wanted to build it real bricks too, and since he didn't have a topic already opened about this model, I thought I'd start one instead. I DO NOT want credit for the car! After I get my Classic Space base stuff done around this Christmas, I think I'm gonna work on a superhero team to go onto my town. This team will be the Parr family, consisting of Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Dash, Violet and of course, Jack-Jack. The rear of the car features a place for flame jet booster exhaust. The car seats one figure in the drivers seat. I'm also debating using the Clayface Splat Attack (set number 70904) set's parts minus Batman (as seen above) from the LEGO Batman movie line together with the Brick villain mini-figure (from Incredibles 2, as seen below from Bricklink) as kind of a she-creates-a-monster-and controls-it scenario. The scenario I'm envisioning is a train derailment (using my period-correct Aerotrain model, from the same time frame as the movie's: the early 1960's-ish) as a disaster caused by the two, whom I'm calling Brick and Mortar. They want to stop the train on it's way to a science convention, in order to steal the blueprints for a secret invention of an prominent scientist... along with kidnapping the scientist herself! (I'm going to use the Mayor McCaskill figure as the scientist in question, I think.) So, all in all, does this sound like a cool idea or not? Comments, questions, complaints, and suggestions are always welcome!
  5. (slight bump) Benny's car (inspired by @hachiroku and his Hudson Hornet model) and the revised house / office pictures with new radio antenna have been uploaded into the first post. (I apologize for the quality of some of the pictures of the car, as they are kinda fuzzy. They are the best ones of all the photos I took at that point, and i gave up trying to retake them.) Next up to be built: the modular base walls on December 25th-ish... this should be the last bit to be built, before calling this project complete.
  6. When the mad Scientist Dr. Floyd Parsons opened his doorway to the pre-big-bang time zone for the first time in 1914, he sent his wife Penny (wearing a makeshift gray pressure suit) into the portal and waited for her quick return. Unfortunately, something happened and the portal itself destabilized and shut down as a safety precaution on it's own. Eleven years pass for the Scientist, who becomes obsessed with reuniting with his lost love, delving every dime and ounce of energy into creating the rescue hover craft and fixing the portal machine onto said flying time-craft. He finishes it in the middle of the year 1925. An eternity passes for Penny, yet she does not age a day. She is taken in by the Brothers Three, whom she nicknames Alpha, Beta, and Omega. These strange alien beings are the sole inhabitants of the pre-big bang, being the sole survivors of a great war (they may have started it) and becoming almost omnipotent in the process of floating in the vast unending void of space. The Brothers Three ask only one thing of their kindness and helping keep her alive in the harsh environment: when rescue inevitably comes for Penny, let them come with her through the portal so they can help mankind achieve it's "destiny". Let her be their "herald", telling the governments of earth all about their amazing powers and how they can help serve man. So, will Dr. Parsons get his wife back? Will Penny allow the Brothers to follow her through the portal? And just what is this destiny these three are talking about? TO BE CONTINUED?
  7. @Johnny1360 you can see the digital version of both here. The real world one is on the to-finish-soon list, as it's a WIP in real life.
  8. Major Bump: I am back to work on the mad scientist's building (which is actually Sanctum Sanctorum Shownshown, set 76108), which now includes a upgraded version of set 76109 (Quantum Realm Explorers) turned into a time machine. To honor the truce between blue and yellow factions of how I should color this building, the green car stays where it is in the post! (Thanks to @iammac for the suggestion on that! ) This time machine is mostly a slight MOD of set 76109, (Quantum Realm Explorers) with two of this part for the side windscreens (un-printed in LDD, of course). The quite eccentric doctor is at the controls of the machine at the moment, but seems to have lost his large top hat due to lack of room for it in the cockpit. EDIT: and I am a Duke now too!
  9. Last weekend I bought and built the Quantum Realm Explorers set. (76109) I plan on making a ramshackle 1920's time machine out of it, to go with the steampunk Mad Scientist's lair I'm making out of the non-pizza parlor / apartment half of 76108 (Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown) that I bought when it first came out in May.
  10. Now loading in the main post, the Classic Space secure cargo transporter! (75217 MOD) This fuel hauler is finally finished in real life, and pictures have just been added to the first post. Also, Benny's new car (the '50's Hudson Hornet-like one) and some new arms for Astro-Bot 33 (the hands kept falling off the old ones!) have been ordered with some birthday cash. You should be seeing the new post sometime next week or so. Any thoughts?
  11. First post updated! (sorry for the bump!) This time, it's got a new 1920's transfer truck inspired by set 75972 (Dorado Showdown)!
  12. Thanks @Peppermint_M, and to all my fellow monster-makers! I'd like the purple Pharaoh's eye please!
  13. Welcome aboard the Astro-train! This stream-liner was a mix of the 1950's Earth train-set called the "Aerotrain", and the 1980's landmark speed-record-breaker "TGV" series built specifically for use by Classic Space forces as high-speed, high-security ground transports for senior level officers such as Benny. Unlike the Aerotrain, the Astro-train can have cars added or subtracted to it's consist, with the normal amount being three to five coaches plus the engine. (three are shown above) The train is nuclear Fusion powered, with a top speed of 300 MPH possible with banked curves and level track otherwise. In reality, I liked my take on the Classic Space Aerotrain, but it can't be built due to design and motorization issues. thus, I stretched the design into the model you see here, with added bonus, of the engine being able to pull freight cars, (such as Benny's road car on a flat car) too. This train is able to be motorized by 9V by easily replacing the front bogie with a motor. Also, the front 4 x 2 slope is missing this print, while the two 1 x 1 tiles near the windscreen are missing this number "60" print and the four fans on top of the loco are missing this turbine print. This is the baggage car, and like the rest of the train, all the doors open. This is the passenger car. (actually there are no inside details, so it can be whatever you want it to be!) I'm not too happy with the rear of this car, but I couldn't think of a good end cap for it... if anyone has any ideas, I'm open to any and all suggestions! (pictures would probably help the most if you do post an idea below) BUILDER'S NOTES: Now, this Astro-train is a flight of fancy only and will never be built, as my 75217 CS-styled Conveyex MOD should be built in real life this weekend, with real-world pictures coming by late Sunday or Monday. This newer model will take up my train spot on my Classic Space layout, even though it doesn't use actual train tracks. Also, parts are on order to fix an issue with Astro Bot 33's arms, as his hands keep coming off his wrists.
  14. (This is a mash up of the Vashta Nerada monster from Doctor Who and Benny the 1980-something space guy. I gave him the robot arm he has in the promo images from The LEGO Movie 2 but with a whisk instead of a hand for story reasons. It may not be the most inventive monster for this contest, but I thought it was cool.) Out among the stars, far beyond the furthest galaxy your can see from your humble home planet, and long after your time in this Universe is done, there is a planet called The Library, a 51st century planet filled with books and pamphlets and more paper that your could wrap your head around. However, in this paper - in the very wood the building is made of - is a alien species made of shadow just waiting to be unleashed. One hundred years ago, the Vashta Nerada (the name for these flesh hungry shadow beings) struck, and the library-going public panicked and ran for the exit teleporters, which overloaded and instead sent them to the computer core to be "Saved". Eventually, the Doctor rescues everyone and gets everything straightened out to leave the Library to it's fate.... well, almost everyone. Enter Benny the Classic Spaceman, who 100 year prior, was looking for an manual on how to re-program his robot arm, as it was stuck in egg-beater (or was an odd-looking laser gun?) form. He must have had his 1980's Walkman on in his helmet and not heard the evacuation sirens when the attack started. Who knows what thoughts went through him when the Vashta Nerada found him and entered his space suit. All that is know is that is the cries for SPACESHIP! were heard by many people when the Doctor finally rescued the rest of the library-goers 100 years later. Some even reported seen a strange skeleton-faced blue-space suited man with an eggbeater on his right arm, but they were just dismissed as delirious by rescue crews.
  15. I've been thinking about remaking my 2-6-0+0-6-2 Garratt steam loco in a different color, and adding a matching it to the passenger consist. I decided on dark blue with light bluish gray sections and wanted some opinions on adding it the mystery train seen in the first post... What do you guys think of this?
  16. Sadly, that is all the Railbricks issues ever made. You can see their spiritual successor in the blog Brick Model Railroader.
  17. I say yellow looks best, personally. I can't quite put my finger on why, but it just looks better than the others.
  18. Welcome to Mr. Ham's food stall, where you can get your just-caught fish; fresh apples and cherries too! Mr. Ham just moved to Lego City from the faraway land of Ninjago, where his stall was under constant threat of destruction from Lord Garmadon and his aquatic army. Mr. Ham's nerves are still a little raw from the ordeal, and if he's not at his stall you can most likely find him cowering behind the service counter in fear... but don't hold it against him. You try being attacked almost everyday for 16+ years! This model is a mashup of sets 10229 - Winter village Cottage, (for most of the truck) set 70607 - Ninjago City Chase, (for the food stall itself and fancy light poles) and as-yet unreleased set 75972 - Dorado Showdown (the inspiration for the building itself). Together, these sets make a fresh food market with an apartment for the stall / truck owner upstairs. The rear of the building. As you can see, the building folds on the hinges seen here to allow for access to the inside details, which locks shut on a Technic pin. The upstairs apartment features a bed. The rest of the furniture has yet to be unpacked, as evidenced by the boxes and crates in the corner. The downstairs stall has a table and bottle of root-beer, plus a garbage can and barrel of more root beer. (to refill the bottle that soothes Mr. Ham's nerves) As soon as Mister Ham's nerves calm down, he plans on using this vintage stake-bed truck to deliver groceries to the bigger customers and to pick up supplies from his sources, instead of paying to have it dropped off at the stall. Rear view of the truck. The roof comes off the truck to sit the driver inside. (minus the hat) This is Mr. Ham (photo from BrickLink). When he is driving his truck, his hair looks like this. (NOTE: LDD is missing six of one part in dark bluish gray for the upper window frames on the front side that are just floating there. They will be replaced with the proper bracket when built in real life... whenever that will be!) The LDD file for the building and truck can be found here at Bricksafe . As usual, comments, questions, complaints and suggestions are always welcome!
  19. Thanks to @Digger of Bricks for mentioning me and attracting my attention to this thread. However, in actuality, I'm partial to the Dorado Showdown set with the hover truck and street vendor backdrop for my Space Police IV theme and related space-ships.
  20. This is the Asteroid 7 Gas Station, run by ex-Black Hole gang members Squidman and Squidtron inside the shell of the old burned-out Squidman's Pitstop. The Asteroid 7 is part of a small chain of gas stations that are independent from Octan Corp, using a competing brand (also called Asteroid 7) that has slipped through Lord Business' finger's more times than he'd like to admit. As the two Squid-beings built the station on the wreck of their old hideout they were able to incorporate some carry-over features such as hidden weapons systems, a top-notch defense grid, and a self-destructing reactor, just in case. Here is the repair bay, where Squidtron stores his tools to work on customers hover vehicles. As he is a cyborg, he can access schematics for any make or model from the internet directly to his brain, and then work on the car just as well as any seasoned expert, even if he'd never seen the car type before. When he is done, all he has to do is store the info in the station's main super-computer, and delete the local file from his head to save space for the next job. The pay desk has a wall-mounted computer screen to help keep track of who is where on the ground premises or airspace at any time. As the station is on a back-water hyper-way, it is not well used. The only ones who travel by are either those who should be there, as in refugees seeking shelter from Space Police IV officers, ones who should not be there, as in the hated SP officers seeking runaways, and finally, lost travelers looking for some way point they missed. True travelers who are not lost are a rarity indeed. The fission reactor provides the fuel for the customers, making Coaxium in three different refined qualities for customers to buy, much like gasoline was bought in three types back on old Earth. (The reactor makes Coaxium as Nuclear waste, which is used in hover engines as fuel.) The Coaxium fission reactor provides three different varieties of hover fuel for cars, trucks, and speeder bikes. The difference between trucks (white) and cars (green) is determined by engine rating, while speeder bikes is kinda obvious. (yellow) In reality, I was inspired by set 5980 (Squidman's Pitstop) and a set of tile alphabet (that I used for my double-sided GAS sign) by Steve Throm as showcased on New Elementary here. I plan on using this 4 x 2 tile for the "Asteroid 7" logo, with the word "Asteroid" spelled out in 1 x 1 tiles above on the other, smaller sign next to the "GAS" one. This may be built sometime next year (2019), if possible. Comments, suggestions, questions, and complaints welcome!
  21. Thank you @TheBuildingBlock, I plan on adding this to my real-world buildings sometime next year. Thanks @Kristel! I agree, the original set felt unfinished with the truck sticking out the back. Thanks @carebear!
  22. This smaller space freighter is meant to get smaller, yet very dense loads through heavy planetary blockades without being noticed due to shape-and-trajectory-jamming technology and four experimental high speed engines that can let them outrun all but one of the ships in the Space Police IV armory. The name of this extraordinary vessel is the RES-Q and was built by Jack Stone Industries as a one off before they were absorbed into Octan Corporation. Mr. Stone himself destroyed the plans and took the ship and a bunch of spare parts to a hidden asteroid at great personal risk (he was killed by Lord Business for this later on), where it was picked by it's current pilot and crew who then joined the Resistance against the Space Police IV. The ship features two laser guns near the lower engines, (in trans yellow, on the light bluish gray bars) and two large fins with RES-Q printed on them from the ill-fated Jack Stone theme. The rear of the ship and the four huge engines. This section also has the hidden cargo compartment, which is accessible via the folding roof section. The name of the alien figure of the left is Kranxx. In the almost ten years since the fall of the Black Hole Gang he has put his organizing and secret-gathering skills to better use now that he is a part of the resistance against the outright corrupt Space Police IV. He runs the blockade runner space freighter RES-Q alongside his pilot Valkyrie or "V" as she is known informally by the group. Valkyrie (on the right) is from the Marvel Universe and was sent to the LEGO Universe on accident by the Bifrost. She was found floating in space by Kranxx, and he helped her to learn about her new home in a strange and unfamiliar universe. As a pilot, her skills are unmatched by any organic, non-augmented being found so far. "V", as she likes to be called, also has started to have feelings for Kranxx.... though it remains to be seen if he returns the affections! In reality, this is a modification of set 75178. (Jakuu Quadjumper) I removed the exploding engines feature, added yellow parts instead of the regular dark orange, and changed the main windscreen to trans-light blue. The figures are a mix of Star Wars, Space Police III, and Marvel. Comments, Question, Complains, and suggestions, are always welcome!
  23. I'll have to get back to you about that! This car was a @hachiroku design of the Hudson Hornet that I modified into being build-able for Benny and my Classic Space base. You can see the original model here. I also took inspiration from set 10232 (Palace Cinema) for the rear taillights and the top of the hood. (As a side note, this newer model of Benny's car is a possible replacement for the current car seen in the first post, which is just a bit too big for my tastes, and has already been used stylistically on another space-y model in another color... which I had forgotten when I ordered Benny's car originally. Of course, the first car would donate most of it's parts to this later model when it is built in real life.) As usual, the Classic Space logo piece goes on the middle of the rear of the trunk on the center 4 x 2 slope. The entire roof of the car lifts away to place Benny at the controls, like as shown. Comments, questions, and complaints and welcome still!
  24. This building is inspired by set 10263 (Winter Village Fire Station), while the pumper truck was originally designed by Brick City Depot alongside their version of a Winter Village fire station. The fire truck has been built in real life for almost a year, but a good fire station design to go with it has eluded me until very recently, when I downloaded set 10263 from Eurobricks' "official LEGO sets in LDD" topic (which was built by @Migui94, just to be clear. ) As you can see, both have been heavily modified, with the building having an opening rear half / removable roof and an bright red color scheme and the truck being rebuilt from the front end to the cab. (which has a roof!) The rear of the building has a couple windows and plenty of room for the fire truck inside, while the top of the tower has a water barrel. Inside on the front half is the fireman's pole, with half the the living quarters upstairs and some equipment down near the truck. The building locks shut on a Technic pin to keep the building from opening during transit to shows / during storage. The upper floor roof is also removable on the two half-sections, to access the enclosed bunk-room and get at the kitchen better. Four figures can sleep in the bunk beds, (good luck getting the two in the bottom sections, though!) and the pool table is supposed to have this print for the eight ball. The kitchen section has two chairs, a radio, telephone, dog bed, stove, sink and coffee machine. Please NOTE: the building is only open-able to 90 degrees. Any further bashes the roof into itself or the wall into the outside lantern (if the roof is removed). This fire truck was originally designed by Brick City Depot alongside their Winter Village fire station, but was been heavily redesigned by me a while back to better fit with the rest of my early 1900's vehicles. This truck features two hoses, two fire extinguishers and a ladder. One seat is included for the driver. As usual, comments, questions, complaints, and suggestions are welcome!
  25. Has anyone got the Jakuu Quadjumper (Star Wars set 75178) built? If not, I'd really appreciated it if somebody did try to re-create it.... (please?)
