Activity - Exploration. Location- Aeristus - C04. After an uneventful time on Myderis, Mark of Orion and his prototype vehicle were tasked with surveying the currently contested planet of Aeristus, just one sector from Torresta, the home planet of the MANTISâ„¢ corp. After a few hours of testing ground speed on the open grasslands, Mark's radio emitted a distress call! Arriving at the scene, Mark discovered that his former crewmates were attacking a loathsome Kawashita stronghold and were in dire need of assistance! Mark fired up the Awesomnium-powered boosters and revved up the particle-disruptor rays on his Strider. "THIS ENDS NOW!" (Begin Commentary) Not happy with this build at all, I was extremely rushed for time - which also explains the very short story! But I wanted to get something in for MANTIS, so Enjoy!

The Siege of Alesia by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr Based off of the painting "Vercingetorix Throws Down His Arms at the Feet of Julius Caesar" 1899, by Lionel Noel Royer The Siege of Alesia by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr One of my favorite wars of history was the Gallic Wars which were a series of military campaigns waged by the Roman proconsul Julius Caesar against several Gallic tribes. Rome's war against the Gallic tribes lasted from 58 BC to 50 BC and culminated in the decisive Battle of Alesia in 52 BC, in which a complete Roman victory resulted in the expansion of the Roman Republic over the whole of Gaul (mainly present day France and Belgium). The wars paved the way for Julius Caesar to become the sole ruler of the Roman Republic. Built for Major B's "Recreate History" contest. Enjoy!

Hi everyone! This is my first time entering in a Eurobricks contest so i'm really excited . I decided to make a containertruck (like 8052 (the old one)). I started building very optimistic , 200 parts max would be easily possible i thought. When i finished my model, it counted around 250 parts, so I had to remove some parts. This was unfortunately at the expense of the beautiful and firmness. It now counts exactly 200 parts. However, I'm not totally happy with the result, and I hoped that some of you would have some tips how to improve my model . Have a nice day, Mark See the lxf file here: MINI Mini (8052) Containertruck.lxf (sorry for my bad English)

MINI BUILD ENTRY TOPIC This is the entry topic for the Technic Mini Build Contest. DESCRIPTION Build a LEGO Technic model with a maximum of 200 LEGO parts! Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set. DEADLINE Contest closes on August 1st, 2014. CONTEST INFORMATION More information about the contest can be found in the general discussion topic. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? Please take a careful look at the rules before posting in this topic. Each participant should create a post in this entry topic. Posts need to follow the rules stated below. Posts not following the rules will be disqualified so please read them carefully. ENTRY POST The entry post should contain: Entry name Part count Short summary of the functions Promotional image (this one should kick megablocks!) Parts image (a picture of all the parts used, spread out on a surface) Video's are not allowed in the entry post (they are allowed in your WIP topic) The promotional image needs to be clear and crisp image, which really shows the model in it's best way. Think of it as the image on the box. Building a great MOC is one thing, but a decent presentation really helps you to get more votes. It's allowed to do some photoshopping to enhance the quality of your image. It's even allowed to compose a single promotional image with a main picture and several subviews (example), as long as your image doesn't exceed the maximum width of 1024 pixels. So this is allowed and even encouraged: The part image needs to show ALL the parts used in the model. That way we can clearly see which, and how many, parts have been used. Here's my entry for Category A of Challenge I. I had a lot of fun putting this together and I think it turned out nicely. I'd like to receive UoP credit for: battle scene [Military Science], and fortifications [Military Science] = 2 credits The Wolfpack has many watchtowers throughout Nocturnus, some in better shape than others... After receiving word that a group of Hand of Corruption soldiers were in the area, Gavin planned a clever trap. Some of his men lured the group to one of their watchtowers. The Hand of Corruption soldiers, seeing their foes fleeing before them gave chase, just as Gavin had hoped they would: Gavin's men quickly ducked into the tower. And the horde following them quickly turned their attention to the fresh bacon lying on the doorstep. After all, their quarry was trapped in the tower, right? Gavin quickly seized his opportunity and knocked the prison cage off its supports and let it fall on the group below: I just got a new webhost so now my website address is brickbuilt.org (not .tk). This should fix the problems some of you were having with the site and make it much more reliable. I'm planning on making some major updates on the site in the near future as well. More pictures of the build can be seen at the new website, here. Any C&C is appreciated

For the past two months I've been building my entry for the Enforces vs. Bandits competition, and it has finally arrived! Enforcers - Valuable Transport My source of inspiration is an actual valuable transport truck that I once saw driving over the Dutch highways: which led me to think: how cool would it be to hide some sort of advanced weaponry in there and have it fold open? First I thought about folding open the container, but in the end it's the entire truck that folds open. Also, the weapons I envisioned were different from what they have become, but the main idea is still there. So, the specs: Manual functions First of all, three of the four axles have steering. The third axle is idle, but has double tyres. I used the same steering linkage as D3K did in his Midi-scale pneumatic crane truck (with his permission), but I reinforced it, sacrificing some ground clearance. Another feature is that the doors of the cabin can open. Electric functions The truck houses the normal battery box driving an M motor. This drives a gearbox that operates three functions: transformation rotating the turrets raising/lowering the guns Transformation Getting the transformation to work was the biggest challenge. The entire sides of the truck are panels that are hinged at the bottom. Via a worm gear system they are deployed outwards. Also, the seats will rotate so that they face the weaponry, so that the driver can operate them. Because of the weight of the side panels, transforming back into transport mode takes well over a minute... Armament In battle mode, the truck shows two turrets carrying two guns, having three bullets each (making the total ammo 12). Via the gearbox the turrets can rotate together, and the guns can be raised. A spring-loaded mechanism is used to shoot. No specialized parts have been used, except the standard dark-gray 9.5L springs from set 8880. Shooting is done manually by rotating the knob wheels. The bullets are white 1x5 beams. Here's a computer image of all the functions. And, of course, the video.

So yeah, I decided to throw myself into making a hero model that looked good and detailed, looked exactly like a normal, every day HF hero and could also be built in real life (Aside from recolours.) The result? I present to you... Thrusher, Hero of Heroes! (Or, at least, he thinks so.) Basically, the story is that Mr. Makuro wanted to make a hero similar to Thresher, but way better in every way. He sketched up a few designs, throwing away the ones he didn't feel were right along the way. In the end, there were 3 designs left. He passed the designs over to the Design Experts in Hero Factory, and they got to work on improving the designs further. Even later, they found numerous flaws in the designs of two of the three designs, and then there was one. They fixed every flaw and improved every detail and then one flaw remained, although it was so small and unnoticeable that they chose to ignore it and go on with the construction. The armour had the flaw that it would be slightly weaker than Thresher's armour, but the Assembly Tower's programs hadn't been updated to say the specific type of armour that was to be used was in stock. The machines used default, incredibly weak armour instead and so Thrusher, the new hero, was too vulnerable to be sent into extreme battle situations. Now, Thrusher is only used for patrolling the streets of Makuhero City, looking out for crime so he can report to Mission Control and have heroes sent to deal with the situation. Sometimes, though, he fights and easily defeats criminals with his Top Mark Grade Plasma Rocket Shield and Tornado Staff and that leaves people wondering... is he really not fit to go on a real mission? Oh, and LDD file: thrusher.lxf

After the fall of Victor Revolword and the Hand of Corruption, it is time for rebuild. Valholl suffered great damage during the war, so there is much to be done. The Hall of Commerce was basically destroyed to the ground, so a completely new building has to be built. The whole population of Valholl takes part of the construction. For lifting heavy stone parts, a giant wheel was built. A strong volunteer (or who lost a bet last night in the Inn) has to pull the stone pieces up, using a wooden frame and a pulley. The kiln is for making roof-tiles. The raw tiles are put inside the kiln at the side. A lady in the background is making a fine job on the new window! The roof is built bit by bit, row to row. A new piece is just being pulled up by a smaller pulley. But who is down there? Lasvor is here to help! He is not a building expert, but even he can lift some wooden boards. The arches of the windows are built using wooden supporting. They hold the structure until the whole arch is ready. After it, the wood is removed and the arch should hold. Those dwarfs are good at what they are doing, the other arch behind him is holding for days! The stone ornaments are made by a handy stonemason. The stone floor is almost ready, nice job Red! The minifigs, who accomplished this tremendous job: Acknowledgements: I would like to thank for the Guédelon project for their unintentional help. I came across them while searching for suitable images about medieval building construction. Their photos helped me a lot by learning the phases of a construction, what side-works are necessary, etc.. .

(LCC) The Last Stand. by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr A lone Areani knight faces off against a horde of outlaws! They may outnumber him 100 to 1, but they will never take him alive! Achilles chased the Trojans to their city. The gods, seeing that he had killed too many of their children, decided that it was his time to die. He was killed after Paris shot a poisoned arrow that was guided by Apollo. --------------------------------------------------------------- Yeah, never anger the gods kids... This scene is loosely based on the actual Siege of Troy. I don't really know much about the story, and I haven't read the whole thing yet so if it's not 100% accurate just enjoy the build. More pictures on Flickr! http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Thanks for viewing and have a great day!

This is my entry to the 4th Global Challenge of the Lands of Classic Castle Roleplay. Mark of Falworth and his mighty host laid siege to the equally mighty Lenfel fortress that barred the way to Stonewald. After five days of constant artillery bombardment, the walls were breached only slightly. Just enough for two men to pass through at a time. The Loreesi had a severe time pressure, for to delay even for a week would give the armies of Lenfald time to gather in such force that there would be no chance of escape. So, Mark of Falworth hatched a bold plan. As there was no time to build a battering ram or siege tower, Mark equipped his War Elephants with short ladders so that they became living armored siege towers! And dismounting his Heavy Knights and re-mounting them on the elephants placed his finest fighters within easy reach of the fifteen-foot high wall. The infantry charged towards the tiny hole in the wall, which was thickly filled with furious Lenfels. To clear this obstacle they shot Loreesi fire from a portable tube-pump. The surviving Lenfels hastily withdrew into the courtyard. And on top of all this, five Areani Knights suddenly appeared out of nowhere behind the walls and began cutting down the astonished Lenfels still trying to defend the breach. All these factors combined led to the remarkably speedy overthrow of a castle that was once deemed impenetrable. And Mark of Falworth continued on his quest... ...For the Glory of Loreos! Also check it out on Flickr! And be sure to check out the Video! Thanks for viewing and have a great day! :)

(LCC){GC3} Part 2 Part 1 The Prince of Loreos instructed Mark of Falworth to take a strong body of troops to the south of the terrible Magic Island, and there besiege a certain fortress of great strength and evil reputation... After a brief barrage of artillery both sides quickly realized that the walls and towers were much too strong for the small amount of catapults that the crusaders had brought overseas. So, after a fortnight's labor, the besieging army constructed movable towers and ladders to scale the walls of the castle. The well-trained, iron-clad knights of Loreos fearlessly charged towards the enemy walls! Arrows, war-cries, and screams filled the air as the ladders were thrown in place. Meanwhile, the great siege towers rumbled their way forward. The defenders' arrows and javelins were useless against such machinery. Just as the siege tower bridge slammed onto the parapet, and the victory of the crusaders seemed certain, lo and behold, a mighty dragon swooped in and crashed onto the wall. It spewed a searing hot stream of flame right into the astonished knights! Taken by surprise, the knights nevertheless dauntlessly resumed their charge, straight towards the ferocious beast! In this siege of Lost Souls, who shall prevail? _________________________ This was so fun to make! I haven't built a big siege in a while. See more pictures on Flickr.

This is my first build for Challenge VI, used quite a few techniques I've tried before and a new one that I haven't seen used by anyone else before. On the top floor windows I used plate modified with ring to attach the tiles at the sides of the windows because I'd ran out of headlight bricks. The neat thing is using those you can put tiles on the inner part of a 1 wide wall, the SNOT tiles also sit farther into the wall than those attached to headlight brick. Daydelon castle was built recently under the supervision of Glorfindel. After the elemental attacks his old castle was destroyed and not wanting to leave the town defenseless: Glorfindel ordered the construction of a new castle. Now he has rallied several clans that live in the mountains nearby and is riding out to attack Revolword: (scored build 1) And tons more pics including interiors here: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=73 After gathering as many men as possible, including Erikur and Sigolf Brimbane, Glorfindel headed for Cedrica. As the troops were passing through northern Avalonia they came across a small group of Avalonians. The group huddled together with the men on the outer edge when it first saw the army . Upon seeing the Mitgardian flag one of the two soldiers in the cluster stepped forward and adressed Glorfindel: "Will you give us aid? The fortress of Cameria was taken by The Hand of Corruption and Cameria has been ravaged. Only we managed to escape with our lives. You have enough soldiers to take the castle back, the army that took the fortress was not large and it is only several days travel from here." Glorfindel answered after some thought: "We will help you, we are on our way to Cedrica but every fortress is valuable." More pics: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=278 Glorfindel quickly planned the attack on the fortress and three days later the assault on the Fortress of Cameria began: (scored build 2) Defender's view: The dwarves and some clansmen attack the doors: Looking up the river, as far as I know the bridge design is new: waterfall: Armed with the element of surprise and outnumbering the defenders, the Mitgardian army soon had the fortress captured. Only a couple of the defenders were left alive, and only for questioning... This build was heavily inspired by Sirens-of-Titan's incredible Vostok Fortress.Lots more pics here: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=285 After taking control of the fortress Glorfindel and his officers interrogated the two Hand of Corruption soldiers that had survived: (scored build 3) The interrogation: The story these soldiers told was almost unbelievable... Only days before Revolword, with two bodyguards, had come to inspect the town and congratulate the Hand of Corruption forces on another victory: Little did the fool realize how near his doom was. As Revolword left, his own guards and the Hand of Corruption betrayed him: The two bodyguards left at once to tell Rellik Nam of the success of his plans. Revolword never realized Rellik, his supposed ally, was really using the wizard to further his own plan of dominance over Historica. The Hand of Corruption has grown strong while Historica has been weakened... Glorfindel realizing the importance of this event, after confirming the truth of the tale, quickly wrote to Elon Chorian: Then he gave the letter to one of his most trusted soldiers and sent him to find Elon: Revolword has fallen, yet the Hand of Corruption is stronger than ever before and seeks total control of Historica... Here are pictures of some of the other rooms not directly involved in the story: More detail pictures and pictures of the whole thing together here: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=399 And yes all these rooms are only one build, they all hook together to form the complete interior. All C&C welcome
