EV3 Tank Platform
Technic Jim replied to msx80's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice! I do love a good bit of EV3. Is it possible to make a shot video showing its capabilities - it would be interesting to see how the servo motors cope of road. After all, they do have a really high torque rating. Also, how far is the range of the live stream camera? -
Wow! What surface does the laser cut onto. To me it looks like a Lego plate? If so, how does the Lego hold up?

Wow - that is one big model! The speed is great as well. One question though, for such a huge model with a reasonably high gear ratio, how good is the torque? Also, how well do the PF battery packs power the RC motors?

couple of quadbikes
Technic Jim replied to steph77's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice quad bikes! I hadn't actually come across 6 wheel variants before, but a quick Google search showed that they do exist. -
It looks really cool! To drive the crane's functions are there motors mounted in the superstructure or just two functions through the turntable? If they do go through the turntable, which method did you use?

Santa's New Ride
Technic Jim replied to BusterHaus's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It looks great! However, is it quick enough to travel the world in one night?! Also, do you have any pictures of the walking mechanism? Cheers, Jim- 7 replies

Hold on a minute; doesn't this seem familiar... However, great minds think alike! (But not always about steering). Anyway, here is my contribution to the festive season! There is a sleigh which houses a M Motor and a 3:1 geartrain reduction. Out front there is a sort of reindeer creature beast (after all: Santa ==> Satan....) with the walking mechanism rather rudely stolen from this video - cheers ISOGAWAYoshito! The video: Merry Christmas everyone and a (hopefully) Lego filled 2017! Now for some pictures: The whole bundle. Thinking about it, I should have put a universal joint or two in there! The stuff of nightmares (looks never were my strong point)! That juicy undershot. Its OK, it is in the right forum! P.S A LDD file will be available after Christmas. See you then!

Let me guess... Is it a bucket wheel excavator? -

I've accidentally oredered the wrong sized 3rd silicone hose part off Ebay and the size isn't the same as the Lego Tubes. The inner diameter is 2mm but the outer diameter is around 7mm. Would I be able to use this part purely for air carrying reasons.
