Just to check, if one were to build a crane, would said person be allowed to operate the turntable and turn it manually, or is that against the rules. Also, would the hook be able to be raised and lowered by a string. Thank you very much, Jim

Ok, that makes sense... sort of! I'm probably being really stupid, but if the compressor controls the rams for the outriggers, what will the middle and rear ram function and the rear spade outrigger function do?
-
This looks like it is going to be one big MOC. I'm slightly confused about what the compressor is going to drive if the crane has its own battery box and motor?

That is a very original MOC and similar to one I made quite recently. Mine was operated by one ultrasonic sensor and depending how far away your hand was from it, it would play a note. It was a reasonably simple program and is up on my Bricksafe (http://bricksafe.com/pages/Technic_Jim/lego-calculator). There are four parameters for the MyBlock and they are as follows The minimum distance your hand has to be away from the sensor to make that particular note The maximun distance your hand can be away from the sensor to make that particular note The length of the 'standard' note (more about this later) The note eg. A4, C6, F#3 The note that is played will be at volume 1, unless you push the touch sensor in which case it will be at volume 10. To play different length notes, you have to use the brick buttons: The top button plays a note of length 1 The right button plays a note of length 1/2 The bottom button olays a note of length 1/4 The left button plays a note of length 1/8 The centre button plays a note of length 1/16 That is all there is to it!

[TC10] Classic Locomotive

This is a very original entry, and if finished could well be a winner! I don't know if you have come across this MOC, but here is a smaller brother of what you are trying to create: I also found a couple more versions of the same idea, but nothing else. This is a very unique MOC! -
First time I've ever seen a banana used to build a super (hyper) car! Looks good though.

Me neither. All I get is just a black rectangle at the side of the screen? I think if people use the and tags though I can see them.

A cool MOC that isn't a vehicle; don't see many of them around! Do you have any pictures of the rubber band mechanism? -

I am really hoping that the 'street working cars' are just misinterpreted from a 'Street Cleaner/Sweeper'. 7242 was the first Lego set I got and I would love a Technic version. As for the others, it sounds like a good range of vehicles. -
Here is a program that puts the Number Create program to good use; it's a 14 function calculator! The functions are add, subtract, multiply, divide, exponential, roots, factorial, logarithms and the six trigonometric functions. Most of the functions were easy to achieve, but roots, factorial and log weren't. To work out any root of any number, I took the base of the root (square root - 2, cube root - 3, etc.), put it to the power of -1 to get the reciprocal then multiplied the number by that. Factorial was a rather complicated program which is on my Bricksafe (http://bricksafe.com...lego-calculator). Log in any base was also quite hard! To work it out, I took Log10 of the first number then divided it by Log10 of the second number which gave me Logsecond number(first number). That is all to it really. Oh, and three 14 way switches! If you want to play around with it, the whole program is on my Bricksafe. There is also a very exciting video (sorry about the hideous quality. It is really hard to film the screen of an EV3 with a first gen Ipad!): Hope you enjoy, Jim

Yay, EV3!!! I've only had one for less than a month (on loan), but am already in love with it. This project looks great and I am looking forward to see it develop.

Most USB cables have four wires: red, black, white and green. Red is positive; black is negative; white is DATA+; green is DATA-. Because USBs are Universal (Storage Bus) this should be the same everywhere, so I don't know what was going on with your cable! -
That's ok. If you need any more help, PM me and I'll directly send you the program.
