How important is it for you to write "LEGO" vs Lego?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to DPrime's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I capitalize LEGO, but it doesn't bother me that others do or don't. Before I learned they wanted to be addressed in all caps, I used on a capital 'L' in the same way I use caps for all proper nouns that call for it. An example where that doesn't apply is ebay. It used to be eBay, but has since changed to ebay for the logo -
Now I'm really having second thoughts on only two. I saw LegoSjaak's at 6 cars awhile ago and it got me thinking... Now this has brought it up again; maybe 2 aren't enough. I was going to buy a bigger tv so I can see it from my bed, but I suppose my 20" will be fine

I'd pit my money on the 1x1 brick. I'd say about 90-95% of all my factory sets (Town/City/Train) have a couple of them. I'm sure that piece is just as common across other themes, as well. For a more general answer, I'd probably bet on the tire (non-specific tread)

Some of these sound pretty brutal! Alas, I'm another with sore fingers from separating plates and experienced stepping in a stray brick a few times. Thankfully, that's the worst of it

Will I Get The Mini Cooper Mini Model?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to CrazyDalton777's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Seriously!? Man, I was afraid the mini MINI would only be available for the first promotion. That was only reason I bought the larger model so early. I was originally planning to buy it later next year or as late as possible -
Wow, went in a 180! This looks fantastic, I love the transitions from dark to light shades of each color. Your large MOC dioramas are wonderful

LEGO in Film & TV: Index of Appearances
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Izzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
While it's not from any one specific show, I have noticed on many of the DIY or how things are made shows, I've noticed whenever they are describing something made from ABS pellets, the narrator almost always says " The same stuff LEGOs are made from" -
Had to take advantage of the 40109 Mini MINI Cooper freebie this month so, I ordered the 10242 MINI Cooper MkVII and 60048 Police Dog Unit

That is a fantastic FEL, SR29! Very detailed, I could only wish TLG would release one like this. How did you manage to incorporate suspension?

That is an incredible lucky find! I'd love to have another, but they are way over the $280 I originally paid years ago. I just can't bring myself to spend that much (or more) on a single set again. I'll just have to settle increasing the height of my 7747's

Yay more police. The hovercraft sound interesting though. It's been a while since the last one, even if it wasn't that great of a set IMO

Wow, that is one fantastic station ! You did an excellent job recreating it. The front caught my eye, but the cover over the tracks is really something. Great job

Really nice restaurant songwm! I see some Bavarian influences on the topside of the building? I like the gazebo led to by the bridge, it would be a lovely place to enjoy dinner. Good luck in the contest

Could 2014 Make Lego Fans Bankrupt?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to BrickBuilder3213's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Bankrupt? Never! I save for things I want whether for this hobby or for other things. Granted I'd be able to buy better, more important things much sooner without LEGO. My issue has become City has many rather expensive ($40-100) sets out this year. I wish they'd back off those price points, especially considering how many pieces you get in the set. Case and point 60046 Helicopter Surveillance (2014) w/528pcs for $74.99 vs. 10222 Winter Post Office (2012) w/822 pcs for $69.99. For those wanting to say "Well the helicopter has some large pieces that translate to more expensive piece, there is the 1st gen. 3451 Sopwith Camel w/574pcs for $50 form 2001. It may not from City, but we don't have to pay extra for licensed sets from either -
Which Themes Deserve a Reboot?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Lancethecat's topic in General LEGO Discussion
+1 for Divers. They were great sets with some really neat boats to offset the speed, police, coast guard, and cargo boats/ships. I'd also prefer the larger scale cars (T1, Beetle, Mini) be under the Model Team name rather than in Creator. So I guess in a way a new Model Team, as well- 438 replies

Love this set, as well. I love this scale for models and this one is a great addition to the line. Can't wait to get one
