  1. While I only have the 40106, I would like to eventually get 10245, as they are a great pair. My idea for combining the two isn't all too creative, but I envision extending the house on one side, most likely the left, integrating the structure from 40106, adding a roof back towards the right the right side to house the large machine included with 10245. Basically creating a manufacturing wing. Possibly considering extending the other side to create space for a bedroom upstairs, and kitchen(ette) down. Difficult part of this is trying to create a good looking, seamless as possible floor with the house's obtuse angle. On a side note I hope, and wouldn't be surprised if someone turns this into a complete custom modular style house
  2. Very good looking train. Another +1 on the color scheme and I love the design of the dome cars
  3. Nice build timtosino, it looks great. Been wanting to add one to my collection. I really like the way you built yours
  4. Nice work on the animation, sounds, and special effects. It looks very smooth with so many things going on. Great job
  5. Wonderful work, Si-MOCs, from another C&H fan! I got so excited when I read the title and I saw you created it. Well done
  6. I actually bought that car for that very reason. Apart from the lights it was one of the few sets from that era of City, that I actually liked, but still a bad time for that theme IMO. Then again I just saw Galidor for the first time
  7. To me LEGO City is a cross between the US and Europe by the style of vehicles, trains included. Pretty vague I know, but look at the tow truck and flatbed. The tow truck is huge and has a long nose front, typical of the majority of our trucks here in the US. Modeled off of Peterbuilt. The flat bed has a van like front end from what I see of European design. Out flatbed car carriers have front end very similar to our larger trucks. Most European trucks seem to be flat heads while US has long nose looking less aerodynamic. Same goes with the train engines. 2010's Cargo Train > European, 2014's Cargo Train > US. Also, the US doesn't have and high speed train lines. Then there are the license plates, European style IMO
  8. It really depends on which set you are talking about. Though what I've seen in the past, regarding "check availability", usually indicates a set has had it's last run and they are selling up the remaining warehouse stock. If the product is unavailable at LEGOShop.com you can always try calling actual LEGO Stores to see if they have it on their shelves. Some will deliver to homes, that is how I got my Town Hall. As for ordering from US distributor for UK delivery, it IS country specific. US distributor does not deliver to UK
  9. Though I never was into the MF theme, I did consider buying this set just to have a hearse, unfortunately I opting out. I do really like this stance on it. It looks more menacing IMO. Hearse hot rods don't need to be jacked up, great mod
  10. It looks like that spill opened it up pretty good. How difficult would it be to remove the PF parts that can't get wet? I haven't had any experience with cleaning Technic with PF, but I have dealt with regular City/Train w/PF set cleaning by dismantling larger sections to access and remove the PF stuff. That or take it apart in as large sections as you can for cleaning and quicker reconstruction. If that would be to time demanding, I can only think of a spray bottle of water, tooth brush, and cloth. For larger sections where there are no PF parts you could dip in a bucket tupperware filled with water if it is really dirty. You could probably knock either of these out in less than an hour, while being very thorough
  11. According to my catelog dates, they release an issue every 3-5 months. The last, #15, was in late July, so the next may be in November or December. TaltoVT, might have a more definitive answer for you though, as I can only provide past history and speculation
  12. For me, Town "Jr." starting circa '97-'99, where the sets were over simplified and blocky. That or World City, circa 2003+. That seemed to be the new direction of City sets, going to a larger vehicular format (6W). Most of those sets seemed a bit futuristic and unappealing IMO
  13. I like the idea of a prompt letting the poster know what they are about to do. From what I've seen, it seems it's usually new members seeing something neat, sometimes something I, myself, would have never otherwise seen, commenting on an old MOC. Much fewer do I see topics that contain good general discussion resurrected. At least a prompt on both would catch the attention someone who may be unaware of what they are about to do. I think that would solve or, at least help reduce the number of random old MOC topics coming back up
  14. This is an awesome MOC! I love how large and detailed you made it. The pic with the staff out front is fantastic, you did an excellent job on their uniforms
  15. That is an awesome variation of the VW T1! I love everything about it
  16. One of my favorite police stations of all time. My younger brother got this for his 8th or 9th birthday and lasted until our youngest brother got a hold of it. I picked up a 2nd hand one 3 or 4 years ago from an ebay auction. It's crazy to see how some of the details inside are so ancient looking compared to newer sets. Computer fat-back monitors/key boards with most of the letters vs. the newer flat screens and full keyboard. I always loved the helicopter and boat
  17. Any time I get LEGO parts that are spring loaded, are under tension, or have track tread (1st gen. Arctic, City conveyor belts, etc) that can be stretched, deformed, or develop flat spots I alway leave them where those forces are at their minimal. Good practice for LEGO as well as other things, locking pliers, bike derailleurs, etc
  18. I love seeing dioramas like this. You did a fantastic job recreating it. For one who hadn't posted much you did it in a big way
  19. I just noticed they used the same stickers (or very similar) on the upper floor window panes as they did back in the 90's. Funny; nice throwback. Nice video too
  20. Wow, that is really something to look at! The light work really brings this to life. Fantastic job
  21. Went on and bought another Town Hall for normal retail. Probably the only modular I will combine two of. It looks so good, even larger standing alone IMO
  22. Nice job SamBo! Excellent representation, very clean
  23. Yes, buy the TH if you can. As I've been saying for almost a week now, the 10224 Town Hall on the US side is retired. 99.99% sure it will not have another 'in stock' run. Some seem to not believe, or want to believe it's going out, but I can only stress that it will be selling on secondary market... in the US for well over it's original $199, from now on... The rest of the world will follow suit soon. That saying hope in one hand, sh*t in the other, you will see what gets filled first. Not trying to be harsh or rude to anyone, but I get the sense there is still some confusion about it's status on the board. Town Hall > US > Retired, buy wherever you can find it now or you will really pony up later
  24. Two BL orders in a long, long time for 20 6x6 and 11 2x2 light bluish gray tiles and the other order for 700 2x2 lt, blgr tiles. Going to start building a runway I guess
  25. Closest thing would be the Town Hall with a modified interior. I don't think kids would enjoy lawyers and court proceedings like we would
