MOC: Commercial Building (Juice Bar 41035 MOD)
LEGO Guy Bri replied to finnbricker's topic in LEGO Town
Great job on this building finnbricker, it's huge! I like the details on the inside, but a bar up two flights of stairs seems a bit dangerous Jokes aside, it's very nice build- 16 replies

List your favourite modulars in order of preference, and explain why?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to glendo's topic in LEGO Town
I've only built the Green Grocer and Fire Brigade (my Cafe Corner and Market St. came pre-assemble haven't been deconstructed), so choosing based on building is out for me. However,I'll rate them based on the way they look to me. Parisian Restaurant - Based on the way it looks inside and out really appeals to me. Obviously, this is nothing new. Fire Brigade - Has the better of the two vehicles that came with a modular and I really like the furniture/appliances in the kitchen/lounge. Pet Shop - Green Grocer - These just look good. Takes away inner city commercial style buildings that comes with normal city sets. Minifigs need a home and I love residential buildings. Cafe Corner - Town Hall - Big, but a bit bland. Interior and color makes up. Palace Cinema - Grand Emporium - Nothing really stood out out, though I do like the interiors of the PC and GE, and like the CC, there is freedom with MS. Market Street - -

Very nice steamer Srbandrews. Those slight alterations on the tender do look much better

Bought the 10243 Parisian Restaurant, but am now paying a tax on it? When/why did this happen? Someone said you only have to pay taxes on LEGO if there is a store, in my case, state. I don't know if thats true, but I do know I've never paid taxes on S@H before

Is that like $70 for both or $70 for one? I've been looking for another set of cars for me HE, but all I've seen is $70/each. On that train, I'd sooner buy the whole set and a Bricklink order for the windows to change the engine into a passenger wagon. When you say "stuck with the engine that I wouldn't be able to do nothing with" it sounds like you forgot it can be rebuilt into anything. This not to say I haven't purchased cars alone, but only from the City-style train (7939 and the like). I was paying between $13-18 per car when they were available. At the time ebay had a few sellers who were constantly parting out City-Train sets. When it came to the HE, EN, & Maersk, I think buying the whole set is money better spent. They have a much higher starting price. I can't speak for the HE, but with the Maersk, the engines will probably end up with a good secondary market if anything if you didn't plan to use or keep them

Modifiying the coal tender of Emerald Night
LEGO Guy Bri replied to TheLegoNewbie's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Sometimes it's better to google what you are looking for than using the search bar here. You have basically have to know what the topic title is beforehand to find it, as the search function is very specific. Anyway, here is a recent topic about modifying the tender from the E.N. to make more realistic coal with the added bonus of hiding a PF battery box. Hope this helps -
How to clean smoke damaged LEGO?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Agent Fusion's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You could try Magic Eraser sponges or a suitable equivalent. They work wonders on stains. I would try it on a printed piece that you wouldn't care to lose though. I am not sure if they would remove the print or not. I don't think they would, but just to be safe -
I'd like to believe it was 1638 Basic Bucket (Blue) or 715 Basic Building Set form 1990, me being 3 going on 4 then. Then there was 1896 Trauma Team from 1992. I remember playing with all three as a child but can't pin point the year I actually started receiving sets. All of the pieces were eventually used in childhood MOCs, so I ended up repurchasing 715 and 1896 a couple years ago

Great answer Sweet modular, love the interior. Great for a first post. I've been here for years and still haven't tried a modular. You've done an excellent job

That is an amazing build maydayartist! I couldn't imagine designing/building that in a in two weeks. It took me a month to build a 1:60ish scale of a truck! This is a really stunning MOC, well done
