  1. They also haven't had a $200 dollar one either. I don't have sales figures, but I would guess there is quite a difference in the amount of buyers willing to pay $200 for a large set vs. $150 for a similar size toy. Another thing, that may or may not have anything to do with anything, is that there were 4 modulars available at one time. All I know, from previous experiences with set availability, is that if "Sold Out" starts appearing on their site, something is on it's way out. I really do hope you are right, though. I wanted to combine two of them like others have done
  2. Nice improvements! I always try to add an engine bay to models when they allow it, so I will definitely be installing one on this. Well done
  3. Maybe so, but all of the actual LEGO stores I called being out/not scheduled to have more in stock, TH no longer available online for Toys R' Us and Walmart, and it's status online on LEGO.com do point to her saying there are no more scheduled deliveries/runs of the set being accurate. Somebodys somewheres gots to knows somethings. The computers never lie . I will give you the benefit of the doubt though, but I didn't want to risk it. An additional $17 on shipping + set guarantee beats the $50 I was quoted overseas Note that I wouldn't be surprised to see it back on their website in a week or so, should some be found leftover. They'll go quickly, so it wouldn't hurt to check their site daily if you're trying to get one
  4. In the U.S. it has retired production. No new Town Halls are scheduled to be made or delivered to the U.S. LEGO distributor in, I believe, Mississippi. That was according to the lady at customer service I spoke with Wed. morning. Europe will still most likely have it available for another month
  5. I greatly appreciate you help. I was able to find one in Florida that will ship it to me, but I do recommend to anyone wanting to buy this, start calling stores ASAP as stocks really seem to be dwindling. Here is a list of the states in which I called every store that, A) Are out of stock or B) Do not ship: Ohio x3 Alabama x1 Maryland x2 Virginia x2 North Carolina x2 Pennsylvania x1 - King of Prussia store has it in stock but does not ship New Jersey x4 Florida: x2 of 4 - Adventure Mall - out of stock Downtown Disney Market Place - where I was able to order mine. $199.99 + $17.85 fedex. They could be your best bet and here is a direct link to the LEGO Store finder for further help Town has has been retired, TLG is no longer producing it. There is a chance they will find hidden stock in their warehouse, but that is a gamble. It appears the Pet Shop will still be available for the time being. I cannot guarantee about the availability on the Pet Shop, as I haven't spoken with LEGO Customer Service, but they did assure me the Town Hall is on it's last leg
  6. Unfortunately here is the news I received from LEGO.com/US... The Town Hall's back order status is in regards to a shipment coming in for distribution to those who ordered it (if you click on 10224 on the site, its status is still 'sold out'). In other words, those sets on backorder are already purchased. There is no expected restock date for this set, it is effectively 'sold out'. They said I could check back in a week or so to see if they found any leftover sets in their warehouse. They also recommended calling LEGO Store's to see if they have stock. Since I don't live near any within 3-4hr drive, I also had to make sure the store could ship it. Some do some don't. I, being on the east, called 20 some stores looking for it, finding King of Prussia in PA has it, but doesn't ship. I found somewhere near Disney, Fl that ships, but the other 18+ stores I called either didn't have it. You can also try booking it to your nearest Toys R' Us or Walmart with fingers crossed, or go my route. Other than that, expect a minimum of $40USD for overseas shipping on a large heavy set
  7. 100% collector at the moment since I moved all my LEGO out of my parents due to no build room in their new location. Before I was building 10-20% of the time, 5% Moding my current built sets and 75-85% collecting new sets for expansion. 100% out of my mind
  8. First thanks to those who helped answer my question below. A few days ago while preparing an order on LEGO.com I noticed the Town Hall was removed from my bag so I searched for it to find it's status on 'Sold Out' and was shock/ panicked because Toys R' Us/Walmart are 'Out of Online Stock' as well and eBay/Amazon sellers were getting/asking $280+. I promptly asked for any insight. Well today I saw that the Town Hall has been moved to 'Out of Stock/Expected to ship 8/20'. So while my initial worry of missing it has been quashed, it does seem like it my be on it's EOL. Speculation of course
  9. Wonderful set of MOCs sonicstarlight! Love the bike shop, great old styling
  10. Awesome build, I love high detailed airports. It's great to see one built to the large plane scale of today
  11. Bought a much cheaper version of 60046 Helicopter Surveillance and 10224 Town Hall
  12. Does anybody know why the Town Hall was discontinued after 2 years? Low sales? I was very surprised and disappointed I didn't buy one sooner, now I'll take a loss on shipping
  13. Done, but no cookies or lemonade?
  14. Fantastic re-imagining of the Simsons House! I love the idea of these characters as masks
  15. Wonderful MOC Gideon! Looking at it lit up is my favorite pic. The detailing is fantastic, well done
  16. Another fantastic installment Farnheim!
  17. Of course! Granted this would require thousands of pieces, but it is very doable
  18. I'm not to thrilled about the direction these Creator building sets are going. They seem very tiny, cramped, and shallow, especially if placed near one of the Creator houses. I like the concept of Postal and/or new agent, but the actual building is way too small. I can also imagine this being quite expensive as well
  19. A couple years ago I won and ebay auction of 1991's 4558 Metroliner and 93's 4547 Club Car for $150+$20 for shipping. Both relative rarities on ebay, especially considering that I got both for the original MSRP for the Metroliner, alone at $149. The only time I had previously seen the Club Car was anywhere from $50-100. So all in all, a good day. Other good auction winnings included a couple Santa Fe cars for under $40/each, much lower than other auctions I had followed, as well and a BNIB 10083 Hobby Train for $120
  20. Both are great MOCs, but I love the Morgan! One of my favorite vehicles in production
  21. You can always buy, build, display, resell to free up new space. Every story I've read about people coming back into LEGO, having previously sold off their collection, have always had regrets on doing so, so I'm on the bandwagon of don't sell your collection, or at least the ones that are really important to you. I too, have had similar feelings about my LEGO collecting. It's a hallow feeling. They're just accumulating now with ambition to one day build and display, but not in a near foreseeable future. It's kind of a love/hate relationship. I love the way they look, but hate spending money on them when I could invest, or save what I would otherwise spend on them. If I were you, like others have said, I would work at cutting way back on spending and only get what really appeals to you, but unless you are absolutely sure about quitting, theres a good chance you won't
  22. Only GTA games on PS3 (GTA V is the only ATM) are what I play or really look forward to. Other that IV and V on PS3, I have Red Dead Redemption, but haven't played it yet. I have HALO games and Forza 4, but still haven't opened my XBOX 360 in over 3 or 4 years (I used my brothers until he went to college). So, driving/racing/realism games are my preference, RDR has similar appeal as a "before cars/GTA type" feel to it. Halo is is the only shooter/future/space/war game(s) I play(ed). My friend is pretty into games and he and I played the campaign on 3 and I really enjoyed the story/play mechanics/versus of the game, so I bought/played the others
  23. Ha! That is wild, creative, and ingenious! If I were a bigger gamer (only have 4) or had DVD's, this would be something I'd love to have. Thanks for sharing, I love seeing task functional MOCs. It made me smile
  24. Awesome MOC Brickedin! A modular surf shop was a great concept and you built it very nicely. Great job
  25. An all-of-the-sudden nostalgic urge to search the internet for LEGO cities and ebay. I had bought plenty of car parts off ebay when it hit me. Maybe I could find some of the sets I wanted, but never received. It started with rerelease of 6597 Century Sky Way, the 10159 City Airport. From there, the snowball effect
