Level Crossing - modern road plate version
Feuer Zug replied to Feuer Zug's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I will agree the "mirror effect" is not the best. Dead on with a flash seems to be the worst from the top photo. Overall, I am impressed and enjoy the new road plates. -
I gave the new road plates a try and found I enjoy them thoroughly. Now that I've modified my city layout to use the road plates and put a solid foundation under my buildings to account for this height, I had to build a new level crossing. On the crossing gates, the arms do swing up and down, but all the "lights" are either red or trans-red round plates. The new ramps work well in creating the hump to go from the level of the road plates to the level of the tracks. Thusly, I submit for your consideration, the level crossing. Now with a car stopped at the crossing gates and the Emerald Night passing through.

[MOC/IDEAS] BASEMENT & SEWERAGE (updated: 9,000+ supporters)
Feuer Zug replied to MOCingbird's topic in LEGO Town
This stinks (pun intended). Well done overall. I like the idea and the feel of the MOC. It's a nice setup for the basement of the building and the inclusion of the waste section would best fit under sidewalk. All it needs is access points. -
Oink oink. I smell bacon. Nicely done MOC.

Well done modification. It looks far better, and the discolored bricks add to the realism.- 3 replies

Wonderful building you've created. I like how you've included the ability to open it for play/show and have the smoke move. I will agree with @zoth33, the claw pieces make for an excellent thatched roof.

[MOC] Ancient Egyptian Cat Worshipping
Feuer Zug replied to Sebeus I's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well done. The ancient Egyptians worshiped cats, and mine seem to think they are direct descendants of that line. The colors are a fit for a real Egyptian temple from what I have seen as well. Bravo. -
Load up on energon cubes, we're headed to Cybertron! Insane collection. You've done excellent work making these. The re-imaged Soundwave is great.

Thank you. The additional windows do help the external aesthetic. In a way, you are correct about it being something similar to the Idea Book 7777 era. The outside could almost have been built with parts from that time (the dark bley roof would be different). I think most of the parts could be that old too. As mentioned originally, most of the parts came from used collections I picked up over the years.

Update time. I've expanded my train shed to 64 x 64 footprint (4x 32x32 baseplates). This extension allows 10277 Crocodile to fit completely within the doors on the run through track. Additionally, I widened the space between the stalls so I don't have to use flexi-track to get trains and rolling stock inside. The inside track is still flexi-track because I have so much of it. Besides, when rigidly connected to the baseplates, they work fine for this purpose. Other improvements include the roof. I acquired enough plates to finish it in one color and made it easy to remove now. On the exterior, I placed various items to give it a working look. Signal towers, stacks of pallets, a dumpster, and more. The final touch was adding the blue Stop track protection signs to the rails.

7 improvements for the new creator castle
Feuer Zug replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks for the modification tips. They do improve the overall look and feel of the castle. -
Lest we not forget, storage space and bandwidth cost money. Hence why many sites have ads and pay options. What happens when the person's account goes dormant? Wonderful diorama. You've captured a well known feature of each nation in Group B well. Those onion domes are spectacular, but I think the Finns have the best life there.

Great work on the dragon. I love the details in it. The remake is well done too.

Superb work on this art-deco masterpiece. The exterior is a good rendition of the real building and the interior is wonderful. The LEGO sign is a great touch.

Dead links do tend to happen on threads that are nearly a decade old. The site the files are linked to, MOC Pages, quietly yanked the plug nearly a year ago.

Well done. I see a considerable amount of work went into the design. That cab roof must have been a considerable challenge.
-
I agree. It's a wickedly cute little shunter. You captured the details superbly.

Quite the collection there. All are great looking cars. I'm still a fan of the 6-wide Speed Champions, they work better in a city layout for me. Keep it up.

Gorgeous build. Massive size and the details are great down to the smallest stud. Kudos.

My collection of 4-wide locomotives and rolling stock may not be as awesome as some works, or cute and functional as others, but here they are. SHRX GP9 ATSF F unit (recently modded the nose based on another's post here. Sorry, don't remember who.) BNSF ES44C4 Rock Island GP38-2 (Revived company)

Cute. They're all recognizable, yet distinctly a set. I like the use of the hinge for the nose.
