[MOC] New Tube line opens to Botanical Gardens station
Feuer Zug replied to Tube Map Central's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Congrats on making your design work. The thin liftarm does well as the coupler between cars. I see how you mutilated a baseplate to secure the bottom of the tram wheel equipped bogies. Glad my design thoughts were helpful. It looks wonderful completed. Now can we see it with the Botanical Gardens station?- 7 replies

You made this modification look like it was purpose built that way from LEGO. Great work on it.

LL-925 Galaxy Cruiser (Classic Space - with instructions!)
Feuer Zug replied to Celloguy's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Sweet classic style build. Thanks for sharing. -
Excellent design. The styling is done well, the diorama in the middle and how the floors work around is cool, and the guy photocopying cash is hilarious.

[MOC] LEGO 15 Class Malayan Railway Narrow Gauge Shunter

Cute narrow gauge shunter. Capturing the angle on the full height nose must have been hard, good work on making it fit.- 18 replies

Nice rendition of a small Tokyo station. I remember the crowds on their trains headed into downtown. It's amazing how many people they can quickly get into the cars and have them on their way. Nobody (funny name) noted he spray painted the brick separators. I don't mind it as they do tend to accumulate and it's a stretch at times to figure out how to use them.

Ninjago reimagined in Western Setting
Feuer Zug replied to Jamin Star's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
An interesting take on merging Ninjago and the Wild West. I can't wait to see how you incorporate Garmadon. -
[MOC] The Crumbling Bridge
Feuer Zug replied to Norton74's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The all-terrain vehicle is a stunning build. You've got everything needed except the kitchen sink. The dead tree in the diorama is well done and I think it would be funnier if they were retreating from the skunk, rather than the bear. -

Stunning diorama. I can almost see this fitting in an ancient Greek setup perfectly.- 13 replies

While a reboot to classic space would be phenomenal and welcomed by many, the reality is it would be seen as a conflict of interest with the Star Wars franchise. LEGO seems hesitant to do anything that might cause friction with the license holder as it is a major product line for them. With the success of the Mandalorian series, they definitely want to follow the money in this case. I do hope something classic anything comes from the recent fan vote, but space would be my preference. That might be as close as we get since the LEGO Movie gave us Spaceship! Spaceship! Spaceship!

Excellent idea. You married the pizza truck to a spaceship perfectly. The logo is great and the minifig a perfect throwback.

VIA Rail Canada - The Canadian train hit 10,000 on LEGO Ideas
Feuer Zug replied to NickLafreniere's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Congratulation on achieving the 10,000 mark. Here's to a favorable selection during the review phase. -
Excellent job recreating a modern Amtrak consist. Both car designs match well, especially for working in 6 wide. The P42DC is acceptable, but something about that nose. I'm sure it's not such an issue at speed. Kudos.

If you have access to the old style train couplings (part 2920), could you use part 3176 (Plate, Modified 3 x 2 with Hole) to install it? You might have to mount the coupling upside down. For your redesign challenge, I have an idea. I'm not sure how perfectly it works, but it might give you some idea. The colors are from what was easily accessible. Feel free to change them as you see fit.

[MOC] Chicago Aurora & Elgin #308 Interurban
Feuer Zug replied to coaster's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Fine collection of well constructed interurbans. It's said before the Great Depression, you could take interurbans from Chicago to NYC. -
SD100, my Hogwart's Express does decently with two cars being pulled by the M motor. I did not mention that I have modified my cars and the tender to use roller bearings. That reduces the friction considerably. The train usually runs on R40 curves as seen with regular LEGO switches to enter and exit sidings. Also, try without the rods. Those took some trial and error with various parts to get them "just" right. Tolerances were critical. Even now, about half an hour is all it can run before the rods need checking.

Insane detail work. I can visualize being in such a real street. Great job.

Thank you. It provides a better visual if the silo has the right cars to run through it. Not often old BN cars get hooked to a UP locomotive, but I appreciate you noticing they are covered grain hoppers.

The grain silo has been a landmark across the North American breadbasket since the railroads moved west. For my layout, I built a small setup on a 32x32 baseplate. The roof over the grain load/unloading area is removable for play value at shows. Additionally, one wall is removable so the interior (including grain elevator) is visible. The brick built ear of corn is based on design on the combine harvester from 2009.

Simple, yet detailed. An effective, and often overlooked part of modern railway operations. Good work.
