  1. @suffocation The two Android phones I tried both recognized the BuWizz units as HMSoft, and could connect to only one unit using the Crane profile. The BuWizz units got recognized as BuWizz + identifying number on an iPad (unique identifying number for each one), so my guess is that the Android app uses the generic device type to identify the units. It's a bummer, as the first versions of the app identified each BuWizz unit by its unique number. I'm still running tests, so I'll update you on the results.
  2. @Didumos69 The finished version looks very nice! I'm guessing you will be massaging the details now. By the way, I played around with the BuWizz units over the weekend. It rained most of the time, so I didn't get a chance to test them outdoors, but I ran into a different problem. Both Android phones I tied see the units but seem to only control one BuWizz at a time. I don't know if ot has anything to do with the fact that both phones are rooted, bit I doubt it (different processors, different Android versions). The units are not detected as "BuWizz", they only show up as "HMSoft". The only way I could control both units at the same time was through an iPad, but I only tested it tonight, too late for outdoor testing. I'll keep playing with the Android app to see if anything to be improved, and I'll plan a dual unit projet for the outdoors. In the meantime I hope your connection issues are a thing of the past.
  3. Good idea leaving access to the USB port and power button. Knowing your building style, the BuWizz bricks are probably a structural element and taking them out to recharge would be difficult. I have two BuWizz bricks here, but haven't used them in combination yet. I'll charge them tonight and do some tests this weekend.
  4. This is a very nice MOC! It looks pretty good for a prototype, and the functions are well executed. For the independent use of cranes, you can have each one working through a driving ring, so each crane only works when the gear is selected. In theory you can have them turning in opposite directions, too. I'm not sure if the independent rotation adds any benefit, and you will have synchronization issues to solve. By the way, I noticed that there are no outriggers on this model - is this typical for s truck of this type, or is this something on your to-do list?
  5. Hi @david4662, welcome to Eurobricks. You can program EV3 using many languages, including C++. I suggest visiting http://www.ev3dev.org/docs/programming-languages/ for a complete list. Visit the rest of that website for instructions on downloading and using the Linux image required for programming in different languages.

  8. Holy cow, Grum, you lucked out with so little damage. I'm sorry it happened, but I'm pretty sure you're more determined than before to get it done. Stay strong buddy! By the way, when you were writing about chairs I had an idea of using two chairs a few feet apart, laying a smooth metal rod across them, then using a string or two to raise and lower the arm. It would make for a quick, primitive crane, although your current method seems to be working fairly well - as long as you don't have brushes with the controller.
  9. Great little SUV, the video is fantastic. Those low angle shots make it look like a real car and show off the speed.
  10. @jaffrry Nice build, I'm impressed with the driving speed. Brick models are usually heavier and slower, and the small tracks aren't the strongest, so it's very cool to see the good performance.
  11. This MOC looks great! I noticed a bit of vibration on the arm in the video - is this caused by the u-joints being close to their bending limit?
  12. Nice original MOC! The finishing touches on the controller and control tower are very good, and the tube routing is very clean. The video is great, too! By the way, I expected the gangway to be the Abbey Road crosswalk.
  13. I'm not sure if this MOC belongs in the Technic or Star Wars forum, but I'll post it here and let the moderators decide. I recently picked up set # 75532, Star Wars Scout Trooper & Speeder Bike. It's a very nice set, but has no alternate build, so I made a C-Model (or B, I suppose) out of it. Here is what the original looks like: Endor Walker I built a Star Wars-themed walker as the alternate model: Functions: Opening cabin Tilting cabin Pivoting feet and legs Features: Cabin with seat Twin cannons Turbine engine under cabin The legs and feet can be set in many different poses, with each of them moving independently. The cabin can tilt once the legs are in place, allowing the aiming of cannons. Here are some more pictures: Inside the cabin is a seat: Rear section:
  14. Awesome build, it looks like an official set. The level bucket is quite impressive to watch.
  15. A great little pair - I especially like the forklift with its three functions in such a small package.
  16. I'm sure it could be easily avoided by placing a clutch gear in the drive train... Seriously, I doubt you will ever see a car gearbox that's motorized from Lego. It brings too much risk of damaged parts. Edit: @Milan I like your review quite a bit, especially the use of Gifs to show the functions. Keep up the great work.

  18. I'm glad to hear that my method was useful! It's crazy how much it stuck with me over the years. I had a job many years ago where I used it when installing chains on industrial machines. But enough reminiscing - your build is going great, you should be quite proud. I'm still curious as to how you'll lift the arm to install it.
  19. Very good model, the pickup mechanism with the brushes works great. I like the video quite a bit, it showed your model but also explains how its real life equivalent works.
  20. #8! Wu-Tang represent! Seriously, I love the black/yellow combo. 3 and 4 would work well if the rims were brown, as it's a complimentary colour for light blue.
  21. This model looks fantastic. I'm a bit concerned about the white windshield elements staying connected, but I don't have much experience with rigid hoses, so it may work. Keep the updates coming, you have something very nice on your hands.
  22. I think this product was mentioned in another thread. Looks like fun, but I'm not sure you can build many other models. The limitation will be the additional weight that can be carried by the 6 motors. I don't find this info on their website.
