Funko Products - Pop Vinyl, Dorbz, etc
Vindicare replied to HawkLord's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The other day, I saw a picture of Indy with the idol & machete. Can't recall of it's a SDCC exclusive, which Im leaning towards that, or a reveal. I bought Newt Scamander & Beast 3 pack woth a Cornish Pixie, Mandrake, & Grindylow, from Barnes & Noble as part of a special "con collectibles" promo. It has a "con exclusive" sticker...but a bit bummed it wasn't a SDCC sticker. -

I think this Mr. Freeze was a bit of "Batman Forever" inspired. The bulky armor that kept him alive & such. -

I'm excited & bummed to see the Fantastic Beasts story pack. I will definitely get it as its Harry Potter, but paying for content I won't use is boo...oh well. That backdrop build is...fantastic. Maybe I'll put it in the ground floor of 10182 Cafe Corner.- 527 replies

Definitely don't care about the second rate Iron Man...a little bummed about the Cap though. Oh well... -
That thing is amazing. I love the different theme rooms. Such a fantastic build, & the details are impressive. This will be on the non realistic wish list though.

I don't mind them. I get slightly irritable when placing them...like many of us. -

I've been debating storing by part more & more lately...as I've been picking parts out of sets to use on my town layout(I store them. Y set in containers right now) and keeping track via list what parts & how many I take out of any given set. But, the list keeping is getting a bit trivial...

California here. Just checked all my Ghostbusters again, all fine. Your wife could be onto something.

This is fantastic. I love the tiling. I have a large area mostly covered with dark tan. I buy from a local second hand LEGO store, so it's a bit limited. I was thinking about adding another color, & this reinforces that. I just might do this.- 22 replies

The other Modulars are a good place to look, as a few others have signage. The "HOTEL" sign in 10182 Cafe Corner is a good starting point. It's a straight forward build. 10211 Grand Emporium has a neat "SHOP" sign too. A capital B will be tricky, I think, as it could read as an 8 very easily. Perhaps making the lower curved part go a stud further out will avoid that.

Is it normal to get extra stickers in sets?

I don't remember getting one...until last week when I bought 76047 Black Panther Pursuit. -
76047 Black Panther Pursuit All caught up now. On Marvel, that is. And until the next wave.

Good start. A few more trees, maybe a bigger brick built one. A fountain or statue are nice additions. I use the statue from 60026 Town Square & the fountain from 10184 Town Plan, just to give some ideas on them both. Given your size, both may be a bit much though. Maybe a tiled walking path as well.

Time is the biggest hurdle for a book to movie adaptation. A book doesn't exactly have restraints, as I own 1,000 page books. A lot of time it's hard to pack all the info into a 2+ hour movie. Generally, I think studios do a good job of it. But I've seen some instances of movies changing or omitting big parts.

Ready Player One, Ernest Cline. A VR MMORPG story. It's the quest of all quests story. Lots of 80's movie, TV, video game references.

Generally, movies can't hold a candle to books. Most of the time, I enjoy the movies well enough, in between the snickering when thing are way off. Movies do a pretty damn good job of adapting though. That being sad... I absolutely hate the butchering of the Maze Runner books. Watching the Scorch Trials was rough. I would've enjoyed the movies far more had I not read the books first.

Me too. Seeing Scamander in the game, I'm excited to see his figure. Likely going to pass on this HP one...although the Hogwarts Express is a neat little build.
