  1. I wish they wouldn't add vehicles just for the sake of adding them. This set could've been $15 cheaper probably without that street sweeper. They have more than enough vehicle only sets, they don't need them in big sets like this...just to pad the price. Edit: that Friends headed baby is frightening.
  2. I thought it was a fairly accurate portrayal, sans characters. It took quite a few cues, the biggest one being the reason for the divide. I don't think it was that big of an exaggeration, it was a decent sized team involved. It would've taken forever to get a team introduced to even begun to rival what was in the comics. Plus, other studios own key characters.
  3. Captain America: Civil War.
  4. How on Earth is(was?) he a brand ambassador?! He seems very clueless on the very brand he's supposedly for. He must've taken Lord Business' agenda to heart. He's clearly ignorant of the AFOL community.
  5. I'm using the gazebo from 10222 Winter Village Post Office, although not in a square. The one from the set is likely too small for your square, but it'd be a good starting point for inspiration.
  6. I'm not sure it's a big enough issue for them to look I to though. Had I been in your shoes, I'm sure I'd think differently, but it looks like posts here are leaning towards the "no cracks" side. Granted it's a low number of participants. It definitely sucks to be on the receiving end of a bad piece.
  7. For sure. This guy is a just a classic robber type, like someone out of an old silent film.
  8. On the most recent "Fresh Off the Boat", there was 31025 Mountain Hut sitting on the shelf in the kids room. Problem is...that show is supposed tobe set in '95. I spotted it & did a "wait a minute!", be ause that set is from 2014. Bad continuity ABC!
  9. In Supes defense, considering he wasn't exactly being welcomed or trusted...he was hated. I could see why he wasn't in a 'cracking' mood, smile or joke. Also, as to Batman & the Robin suit, perhaps that will be addressed in his solo movie.
  10. I've got about 30. Way more if I bought all the ones I want. They mainly consist of Marvel & DC. A few 80's cartoons & video games & anime thrown in too. My favorites are Thanos & Voltron. I do hope to find the big Ant-Man.
  11. I gotta go with(as labeled by Brickset) Queasy Man from 10244 Fairground Mixer, Dart Player from 10246 Detecfive's Office, & Doctor from 4419 Helicopter Rescue, because of there uniqueness in my town. Plus, you can't help but laugh at Queasy Man's face.
  12. I like the double sided front facade. I was dying(of laughter) at this. It's great! The peg leg lady...woo boy. Awesome details on the inside as well.
  13. So much yes! How many tow trucks & helicopters do we really need? Seeing as they're expensive, especially the latest offering, kids are less likely to get it. I absolutely love the buildings in it, mostly the LEGO store & coffee stand. If they would've just axed a few of those vehicles, it would've been so mu h better.
  14. Another option for the dock walls would be, what they're officially called...I'm blanking on, but log bricks. They come in 1x2 & 1x4. Since its fresh in my mind since I rebuilt it recently, the blue tavern from 10193 Medevial Market Village has them at the base of it.
  15. To piggyback on this, perhaps adding cheese slopes to the grey plates(tan to match te slopes you already have?) might look good. Although they may stick out a bit much as the plates sit now. I really like the entry/middle section, something a bit different. Also, I like all thats going. Ow on the rooftops.
  16. That all brick(masonry) looks great!
  17. In defense, the HP line started as yellow. Awesome little build, always fun seeing HP make a return to the first page!
  18. While I've been lucky to not have any issues, but hearing this(again) makes me want to become one of those crazy germaphobes. Wash wash wash wash wash! I don't eat while LEGO-ing, but I don't always wash up when I'm tinkering. New sets I would typically wash up prior to.
  19. I can't say for sure as to the minifg making process, but the CMFs(book ones too?) come from the China factory. Ditto. I have many of the minifigs mentioned in this thread & I have zero problems. Take the Ghostbusters, as it was brought up again recently, I've had them built & on the stand since day 1 & nothing. No cracks.
  20. As for where I'm at, the only place where I can go into a store & walk out with one is a Brand store. I have seen adverts in store, Target, that say you can order the exclusives. Toys R Us & Barnes & Noble offer them on their website. None are physically in stire however.
  21. Very cool! This is something like I'd want to do. But more bar & less restaurant.
  22. Brick Bank is fabtatsic. The build was great & techniques were fun(the teller window section especially). Asto the article's complaint about play features. I don't see how they're a problem when they don't detract from the set in any way. The "money laundering" I find s quite funny. Pales in comparison to last years little bit of ingenuinity with the smuggling bit integrated in. I don't understand how he thought the added play feature ruined the build or design on this set. The laundry & deposit boxes would be the same either way...same woth the chimney... Ghostbusters HQ. If I had the money & was caught up on my purchases, I would've bought it more than likely. I would be hesitant because of price. Because I'm not a die hard fan, but at building itself is great. The detail is worth the price Assault on Hoth. Snooze fest. It's great for expanding a Hoth layout, I'm sure you can buy the individual sets cheaper than this though. The only saving grace is the shield generator & ion cannon. Not enough to warrant a purchase though. Batcave. Pretty mich the same as GHQ, but more likely for me to buy as its Superheroes, even though I ne er got into the show much. Village. Looking at the sets, I just don't get it. They're somewhat neat looking...just not worth it to me. Clearly that appeal ism or there because I don't play the game. This set, has a cool look to it, more so than the rest of this line.
  23. That's pretty nice. It's a good way to cover up the studded area without making the sidewalk huge.
  24. I like it, even the shiny finish, as someone else mentioned, it looks like a fresh rain. But man! I do love how clean it looks covering the 'studded' area. I did this before(when Modulars numbered 4). But now that I have more than double that & I seem to rearrange my layout every few months...it would be a bit of a pain. Plus, corner buildings throw off the alignment. Oh, and I love the all grey 10182 Cafe Corner. Very 'old timey' movie.
  25. That would be a very cool idea, but I wonder how it would mesh without getting everything... I would imagine it'd be difficult to make a cohesive build in multiple variables(for those who can't afford or just don't want to buy all the sections). I love that idea & have seen it mentioned time & time again on here in various places. I don't know...it may be easier than I think it would be. Ky just sounds like it may be more of a hassle than a benefit.
