  1. Ahh, it worked!
  2. I'm with you on that. I think trying on some smaller sets, like buildings from City or, as mentioned above, Winter Village sets. I'd like to get this down.
  3. This before or after you finish your massive Palace Cinema?
  4. Very cool! I did this last year waiting for Brick Bank. I don't have the room right now, unless I did a fairly good sized overhaul. I plan on crossing that bridge when I get to it. My town's a bit of a mess at the moment.
  5. I hear ya, both in depression/anxiety & being the only one into LEGO. I don't build MOC's myself, but maybe just start out building one of your sets to get the ball rolling.
  6. In recent memory, 10182 Cafe Corner. My reason, it was a great looking building. My usual motivation for buying sets of that price is minifigs-but I also need to really like the set- or be a building I can use for my town.
  7. Great job! I really like the bases you built. I set mine up, but just on those 48x48 baseplates. I like the connectivity so you can take the sets off & take apart. Then store the bases as well. Going to look into that for next year.
  8. Rewatching from the start, one a day until Tuesday when I see it, I looked into more about Sifo Dyas. I've read some interesting finger pointing at who people think it is. From Darth Maul to Qui-Gon Jinn to a play on Sidious. The most convincing theory is that it was Dooku posing as Dyas. Afterall, it was Dooku(Tyrannus) who hired Jango for the cloning. I'm getting ready to watch Ep. 3. I sort of remember the talk between Palpatine & Anakin...I'm pretty sure Dyas was the other Sith in the discussion, but I can't remember the dialogue. What are your guys' theories on who the impostor Dyas was? Since we know the real one died before the request for clones forth.
  9. Since getting back into comics more heavily, my LEGO has taken on new life. Now I mainly focus on Supeeheroes & City. I pick & choose from a few other themes as well when I can. Modulars, of course as well. For Superheroes, I'm more or less a completionist. As long as I'm able to, I get them all. City stuff is more sparse. I have a tabletop town, so stick mostly to buildings, vehicles when they're interesting or something really new. Trying to cutback on comics so I have more money for LEGO, there's just too much greatness I'm missing.
  10. I got this the other day as well. Everything about it is fantastic. The build, the figs, the end result. Especially for a Star Wars ship...it's really a breath of fresh air.
  11. 60117 Van & Caravan 60145 Buggy 40228 Geoffrey & Friends
  12. Baby Groot, he's so hot right now.
  13. Heh, that was honestly my favorite part of the entire crossover. I really like all these nods to the past these shows are doing. I loved seeing Commander Steel finally in costume. The "Star Labs hangar" was an awesome bit of nostalgia as well. And the shots of the full team.
  14. Another David Annandale Warhammer 40K book, "Warden of the Blade".
  15. A roundabout question regarding the movie... I bought "Catalyst" book by James Luceno. I'm gathering opinions on reading it before or after seeing the movie. I'm leaning towards reading it afterwards, because I don't want parts of the movie spoiled, possibly, by the book.
  16. Ip Man. Pretty amazing martial arts movie. Chronicling part of the life of Bruce Lee's master.
  17. There's no turning back now...these things are worse than Pringles. On a frustrating Pops! note...I have struck out on finding General Grevious(as well as Green Goblin & Scarlet Spider-Man). Checked 4 Walgreens...all but one, luckily the closest to me, has a terrible selection of them.
  18. Yeah, thanks to Black Friday...they were having a BOGO 50% on educational toys & games. They have a sparse collection of LEGO sets. But took advantage of the day.
  19. Just 76065 Captain America vs Red Skull. Went to Barnes & Noble looking for others, they had a buy one, get one 50%. Got the Mighty Micro for under $5 while buying presents.
  20. It's good to see "Clumsy Guy" is all healed up & back on his feet.
  21. Fantatsic Beasts and Where to Find Them It was refreshing to watch a Harry Potter movie & not nitpick it. I thought it was amazing. I loved seeing the "WB" accompanied by Hedwigs Theme again. Hearing some familiar names & discovering more about the wizarding world was great fun.
  22. Ooh, I love me some Counter Strike. Been eons since I've played. I play a lot of Starcraft 2.
  23. I also have shelved LotR. I made it about halfway through The Fellowship of the Ring...I don't know if it's that it's just nor as exciting because I've seen the movies a bunch so I know what's going to happen or what. I do want to read them as I haven't yet, but for whatever reason, I just kind of lost interest.
  24. That's a bummer. The one thing about the Inhumans that I don't particularly care for is their look...or lack thereof. Outside of the royal family, there's very few who loo human. With a TV budget, I don't see that changing. It'll be interesting to see how they handle Medusa. I do really like Ghost Rider's skull look, so I do have some confidence in them.
  25. I wondered if we had a thread about Easter eggs in sets, but not so much who designed them, although the license plates are a fun one. I thought a collective of things like the years on the buildings in the Modular theme, 1932 on 10197 Fire Brigade, the year Ole Kirk started business. And 1891 on 10224 Town Hall, the year Ole Kirk was born. And isn't "Raph" on the CMF Mechanic something?
