  1. I’d forgotten about the green house and owlery. I was referring to the hospital wing and flying lessons. I’d love to see how you get on with some of those MOCs etc. I would love to have a go myself, but I only got into the castle to feed my Lego habit with no new builds that fitted my town to build. I’ve quite liked some of the HP castle builds, but have skipped the extra classroom modules etc.
  2. Ooh. Thats a bit special. Apologies.

  4. Thats a great image. I’m going to have to wait for my East Wing, as funds are tight at the moment. I also have run out of space. It’s a shame that it looks like this is the end of this run of the castle, and we have at least 2 sets which don’t seem to have anywhere to fit.
  5. I was going to ask about this, as in one of the other images released, it shows the smaller bridge joining to the dungeon level. I was wondering if this was to connect to an as yet unreleased section, or even the flying lessons, but this makes more sense. Out of interest, does anyone know where the flying lessons is supposed to connect to. Without a dungeon level, it doesn’t seem to fit.
  6. Looks like it will be expensive. 2100+ bricks so its going to be at least £200 ($250+), probably more I would have thought. Is the blurred tower in the background supposed to be the Hospital Wing, or are we expecting another set either later this year, or early next? I’m not sure my wallet could stand 2 more this year, as already, as a new collector of this range, I’m missing the boathouse, and some of the interior alternate sets, as they’re retired, and can’t afford to pay £70+ for the potions class on the second hand market, let alone the boathouse. I think its the figures that bump up the price!
  7. I am also wondering where they will be going for the 20th anniversary set. I think it’s likely to be a 48 stud wide one, and hopefully it’ll reference some of the last 10 years worth of modulars. I don’t know if it’ll be much taller than the usual heights, but I expect it to be a fair bit more expensive, possibly as much as £300/€350, maybe more given that the regular sized modular was £229 this year. I would love to see something like an enclosed shopping arcade, rather like the Victorians built in some cities in the UK. You could add a number of smaller businesses and the like, over two floors, with perhaps a couple of penthouse apartments on the top. I think thats quite unlikely however, as is a skyscraper imo. Whatever it is, some will love it, others wont, but I’ll still be adding it to my city, even if it means removing some of my MOCs.
  8. Hmm. Interesting. I quite like it overall, so I’m hopeful this is not just some AI generated crap, or knock off brand model. The shapes are very reminiscent of the Boutique Hotel, and I quite like the split, although the drop in height between the two sides is quite marked. I’m just wondering where it’ll fit best. Possibly next to assembly square, on the right, and maybe on the art gallery side of the boutique hotel. Of course I’ll be adding it to my collection.
  9. Thats mighty impressive for a 7 wide build. Congrats on the final build, and what must have been a lot of time spent trying to get it all together to work.
  10. There must be plenty on either rebrickable, or bricklink MOC sections, so have a look. I’ve built an amusement arcade (ground floor) and bowling alley (first floor), with a roof bar, with a hint of the art deco about it. The interior needs refining, and i was limited by brick selection, but I’m reasonably happy with it. I have attempted a Miami style hotel in the past, but had to dismantle it due to a house move, and never rebuilt it.
  11. Hmm I hope that rumour is not accurate. We had a music ‘store’ upstairs in Assembly Square, so I’m not so sure another one would be needed when there are plenty of other choices for themes of the modular are out there. The furniture store would be an interesting one, but what about a small food shop, such as a butchers or corner neighbourhood store. I’d also welcome some form of doctors surgery. I think a hospital is only likely to be made when its a 48x32 sized modular, unless they went for quite a tall 3 story modern structure, as they would probably lose a good ⅓ of the baseplate with an ambulance bay.
  12. Sadly we won’t be adding this years WV model to our Christmas lego set up. And if #Wicket is correct, then we won’t get next years either! So compared to the first winter village train, this one is something of a let down. The loco using standard carriage sized wheels looks so wrong. Neither of the wagons offer anything really new, compared to the previous version, and the tender looks almost the same. Such a shame. I was hoping this would offer existing train owners some additional interest in the wagon/carriage department. If I had to guess, I’d say this was a ‘second option’ after the initial model failed to get produced in time. I’m sure it’s not, but it just feels that way. Sadly we
  13. I don’t think it’s really an inverted modular. The connection points are not all in place for that. They are in place to make it a normal modular corner, however. Having now looked at the official images, and the 360 video on Lego.com, its got big holes in the wall designed to look like blast damage, but no bricks to make up those gaps. Also almost the entire of the rear side is designed to be pulled out in 6 panels, to access 6 of the cells. A great play feature, but makes it more difficult to site in a modular town.
  14. Whilst the Boutique Hotel was a 15th anniversary, I felt it lacked the scale of Assembly Square. We can only hope that the designers have something equal to or even better than, that 10th anniversary special for the 20th. I’d welcome a 48x32 again, but I also think it would be great to have 3 16x32s that can be placed in different orders, or even separately. They’d have to be a bit bigger/better than Birch Books & house though.
  15. That’s a really fab addition, and so much better than my attempt to create an historic quarter to my town. I have purchased the Lion Knights Castle, with the hope of tying it into the town, but have epically failed. You, however, have provided some excellent ideas as how it might be done. You should be rightfully proud of this model.
