REVIEW: 71011 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15
Hobbythom replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Excellent review of an excellent series. The only one I really don't like is the mech. I'd take the others any day! -
Interesting subject and an excellent display of rockwork!

This is an amazing build. The façade is textured in a very realistic way. The interior is great too. Awesome job!

Great review. You almost make me want to buy one. I don't know what it is with these sets. On the one hand they are so nicely designed and cute on the other side I never seriously consider buying one. I can't explain what it is that holds me back.

Beautifull build There is so much to look at!

Very cool build! I would love to see the entire hall ! The doors a new for me, where are they from?

Excellent build. Just the type of schools you find in older European cities. My favorite part is the way you made the gym with the big floormats. Instantly recognizable! Great job.

Getting glass out of a small window.
Hobbythom replied to Orange Leader's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I use the ol' thumb but I can understand if you are reluctant to apply more force. -
Given the fact that Lego increased sales again this year to an all-time high, I don't think your observation about people not buying sets is correct. In term of originality and such: there is an enormous amounts of themes available. And whether innovation within some themes would be welcome (looking at you City), overall I think there is a very diverse offering in both themes and sets.

Getting glass out of a small window.
Hobbythom replied to Orange Leader's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Are you certain it is this type of window? I ask because there is an older type in which the windows are fixed. -
Such a nice build. It oozes cosiness!

I find it a bit bland honestly. There isn't a whole lot of colour which makes the snackbar feel a bit 'cold'. The soft serve machine is a great build. It deserves a more inviting snackbar in my humble opinion.

Very convincing scene! I to would like a how to for those pine trees -
Thanks for posting the behind the scenes pictures. Very insightful

Wow! I really, really like this! I could see this in a park in Bruxels. Great job!

Very impressive build. It reminds me of the Villa Borghese. An interior would surely be amazingly detailed. A park or garden surrounding the villa would probably also add tons of flavour

Wether it is to tall depends on what stands next to it! Given the width, I would personally lower it by one floor. The building could use a bit of dark tan. Perhaps chang the tiles on the side of the building to dark tan?

Incredibly cool layout with some awesome MOC's and MOD's. I do wonder how you get the baseplates to line up with both the brickbuild roads and the technichpart cobbelstone road. If you have a picture of the whole thing being build up, it would be greatly appreciated.
