  1. What a masterpiece design! I love it
  2. Maybe you can contact LEGO for help, also. Maybe they would say that they will offer you some replacement parts....

    [MOC] Peterbilt 579

Why don't you fill the grill with all black and use white strings for the stripes? The LBG half liftarms are too wide for the stripes...
  4. Current status: 8+N+R gearbox, D-N-R shifter, and the engine done. Also some color matchings and a little bit of interior --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, everyone. Today, I would like to introduce my new moc in progress (and the first to post here). It's Mercedes AMG GT R. (in 1:8, with porsche wheels&Tires) (From https://www.autoevolution.com/news/black-mercedes-amg-gt-r-does-insane-nurburgring-passes-110677.html) I'm planning to make it in black, as 3x11 curved black panels are available now. If amg gtr convertible model comes out, I want to try the convertible mechanism, too. My current status is only up to the drivetrain (engine&gearbox) And this is it. It's a 8 speed gearbox, with D-N-R which I built by myself. At first, I was goint to use charbel's 8 speed gearbox, which is awesome, but soon found out that the gear ratios aren't realistic (the last gear is 45 times faster than the first gear.) This gearbox is also combination of a common 4 speed gearbox and 2 speed gearbox, but different in the fact that the 2 speed gearbox is shifted every 90 degrees, and the 4speed gearbox is shifted every 180 degrees. And that resulted in a realitic gear ratio... in which the last gear is 6.25 times faster than the first gear. The hardest part was the mechanism to make one shift in the 4 speed gearbox while the paddel shift (which is not built yet) is shifted twice. The mechanism is here: Here's the sifting video: Under the chassis, you can see the D-N-R selector, which the gearstick to shift it is not built yet. As I only have times on Sunday afternoons, the progress will be very slow, but I will finish it sometime, so don't be angry even if the progress is slow. Comments are welcome, and advices are also welcome. Thanks. Oh, I missed some explanations on the gearbox. The 4 speed gearbox is just the regular one, with 1:1 to 1:5, and the 2 speed gearbox is 1:1 to 1:1.25 which doesn't work yet as currently I don't have any chains. The chains are also linked to reverse gear.
  5. @Jeroen Ottens Well, then I will work on implementing the 42054 mechanism.. Btw a commission from Mercedes? That is awesome !!! I hope that day comes in my technic life, too
  6. @Lipko I am also concerning about the slack, but as I said earlier, I want to try it first and I will tell you if it failed or not. Btw, I also currently have no idea how to put the 42054 steering mechanism into a independent-suspension car
  7. What a coincidence! I hope to make something different from your gt r, so could you upload some wip pictures? Not only I but everyone would love to see them. It'll have some gears, but not too much to make big friction. I'll try first, even if it fails. And even if it fails, I'll somewhen find a solution.
  8. 1. I chose the 8 speed gearbox as a core of this model, so I will never give up on using it. 2.@Jeroen Ottens, Currently I have a solution not to touch the wheel but only no time to implement it. So I find no reason to redesign the whole gearbox, which is operating well. Also, I need the spaces in the back not filled because I would like to add a convertible mechanism there. Btw, do you mean that you were also building an amg gt r? 3. The steering axle will go all the way to the back in the yellow area, and the switch will be on the back. FYI, I'm not using the same switch as the xerion tractor- I'm planning to use 42056's d-n-r selctor mechanism, which will be modified to be able to be changed only when the steering axle is at the original angle, which means it will be only changed when the steering wheel is at the original position.
  9. Thanks, @steph77. Problem solved. However, another problem arose. A huge one. I just built a simple front axle prototype, and...... Oh My God. the wheel touches the shifting mechanism..... To keep this model in scale, I have to redesign the shifting mechanism. A lot of work to do....... Btw, this model is going to have rear wheels steered also. (able to choose between either go the same way was the front wheels or the other way)
  10. I tried a shifting mechanism that I thought of myself, but it didn't work well. So I decided to use @Didumos69's paddle shift used in his ultimately playable 42056. So I made a quick replica of his mechanism, but it doesn't work. After one shift, the center knob isn't in the right angle. So I have to rotate it a bit for the next shift. What's wrong with it? Did I miss something?
  11. This is gonna be fun! Btw, first korean I saw here (except me)!
  12. @I_Igor Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, (as I'm not so good at english) but are you saying that we must not call them connecting rod?
  13. @tomek9210 as @AkiyamaWatarusaid, the transmission is at the rear axle. (from http://www.caricos.com/cars/m/mercedes-benz/2016_mercedes-amg_gt/images/140.html) but @AkiyamaWataru, the engine is not in the black area. see this: (from http://newatlas.com/new-amg-gt-sportscar/33756/)
  14. @I_Igor I've checked the engine scale: (From: http://www.amggtforum.com/forum/13-2016-mercedes-amg-gt-pictures/1722-amg-gt-naked-drive-train.html) and I thought a smaller one would fit better. (the bigger one is too long and too narrow.) also, as @IA creations said, it takes less space (in this case, 4studs). With the bigger one, the D-N-R selector had to go too much behind, and that looked so awful.
  15. @LvdH You are right, in the video it takes a lot of force, however, the force that I took was for keeping the liftarm behind the selector in the right place, not the selector itself. It will be okay if I add some reinforcements after on behind it. If it still takes a lot of force with aome reinforcements, I will change it to a smoother one. Thanks
  16. @Aventador2004 you are right, but it's still a prototype.
  17. @IA creations it is similar, though there's difference in the fact that he used technic cams, while I used simple 1x2 liftarms.
  18. A little progress yesterday... (some color-matching, some interior, d-n-r shifter, a new fake engine) First of all, I changed the original fake engine into a smaller one, for shortening the chassis, and finally the inteior and D-N-R shifter is in the right place: Some color-matching (or what should I call it?)- interior and exterior will be all in black, and any place else will be in LBG. And rearrangement done on the parts around the gearbox. Lastly the D-N-R shifter: Next, I'm going to work on the paddle shift, which I have an idea about.
  19. @AkiyamaWataru No, it's not a geneva mechanism. (I guess so) It's just making a 90°turn by rotating a liftarm (in larger radius) with a pin around the technic knob wheel. Or is it? I'm not very familiar with geneva mechanism, so maybe it is different from what I saw in a video on it, but still a geneva mech?
  20. @AkiyamaWataru @Aleh You both are right. I missed both gt3 and gt s. BTW, that's not the point of this topic
  21. Wow! The use of panels on the top of the cabin is so smart I'm also looking forward to the nose design
  22. Yes, that's what technic fans love. I would like to see it too Nice design and features!
