[MOC] AGV High Speed Train

Recommended Posts

I would like to present a model of a modern high-speed train based on Alstom's AGV in original livery.

The model features Jacobs bogies, spacious interior and automatic doors.

Stupendous! The amount of functionality crammed into this model, whilst keeping it highly detailed, is outstanding. I especially love the moving pantograph and doors. Well done!

My only critique is the hatchet job done on the jacobs bogies...

What do you mean? What did I do wrong? :look:

lol, You didn't do anything wrong!  I was just poking a bit of fun at the fact that the bogies use actual hatchets on them...!

Wow, incredible train!

Its design is wonderful - and it has opening doors.

Can you show some more details of the coupling?

Looks great.  It would be nice if you could post a couple more photos, we can't watch YouTube at work.  :classic:

Finally had a chance to watch the video- great mechanisms!  Nicely integrated pantograph-raising mechanism, access to the battery box, etc., and I agree that I'd love to see more on how those doors work as well!  :sweet:

Fantastic use of power functions in a really beautiful looking train!  It was just painful to watch going around those tiny radius curves.

Marvelous design sheo, I think you could not have done a better job. How did you pull of the door mechanism (while still allowing the car to be removable). I also like the way you did the access to the interior.

That build is just ridiculously good! Well done!

I know it's a small thing, but I especially like the detail in those seats.

I just wish Lego would release a train (one day) that had automatic doors like yours.

The coupling uses this part put on two axle pins.

There's a cardan shaft running through the train. Actually decoupling also requires disconnecting the shaft. I didn't show it in the video because it was difficult for me to shoot on camera.

It was only a demonstration of compatibility with standard Lego curves. I agree that the train needs large radius curves... and also a proper layout. :classic:

Aha that's the trick. Very smart! Good use of LEGO Technic parts :) Maybe you could even add an option to be able to connect the pantographs to the same axis then?

Wow! This is absolutely awesome! I love the opening doors. I think this deserves a spot on the front page! Thumbs up.
