  1. Cool. Another Kim's Convenience Store MOC. The window on the roof was probably a temporary structure constructed for filming and removed when done.
  2. Numbered bags and different color pieces do help when you're in a speed build contest at an AFOL convention. I'd say, "sure". The older you get, it can get harder telling dark blue and black panels apart in less than ideal lighting conditions. LEGO should take us older than dirt into account too. Just like sets for 8-12 years-old containing Technic pieces... 41324-24 by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  3. I have a 42009 crane still MSIB. I'll get around to it one day. Too much building other things for LUG... I stand corrected. For those interested, there is a thread for keeping track of titles:
  4. How does this look with the colorbind glasses? Wasn't Technic originally about function over form? Thank you for the weight information. Makes me wonder if they color black with carbon since it is cheap, light weight, and readily available. I engrave LEGO and haven't noticed any difference milling black versus dark bley.
  5. Philo has pictures of the insides of the battery box on Brickshelf -> http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=399263
  6. Welcome aboard, Tom.
  7. With some effort rechargeable batteries in devices can be replaced. It wouldn't be as easy as swapping out rechargeable AAA batteries. Also with AAA you can have one set being used while another set is being recharged.
  8. If you find your property is being used without permission on YouTube, you can submit an infringement form. https://www.youtube.com/yt/about/copyright/#support-and-troubleshooting
  9. There is an unwritten rule of don't ask for titles on EB. Also be careful of what you say as it can be used against you in a title.
  10. How much is the difference between colours in weight for a 5L liftarm?
  11. I recall Technic turntables on the PAB Wall many years ago.
  12. Applying beer to the sticker may not work as well as soapy water. I used a very weak soapy solution when i was applying 3M Stongard film to my car. Once you have it where you want it, squeegee out the solution + air bubbles and viola. I print my own train stickers on label paper. Inkjet ink would run like crazy if it gets wet. Don't use that technique on inkjet clear labels either.
  13. The bat mobile has skid steering it would seem. One motor drives the left wheels, another one drives the right wheels. To turn, one side stops and the other moves. Or one side goes forward and the other side goes reverse.
  14. I think LEGO is going for economy of scale. Many of those technic pieces are also used in sets outside of the Technic theme like Friends sets geared toward 6-12 years old. The sets in that age range tend to have multicolor building techniques for ease of building and quicker to completion. I guess we need a new generation of kids with the same patience we had when we were kids to work though all those black axles of different lengths. Well, there is always Bricklink or manufacture your own parts in the colours you want. We'll call it MOP.
  15. Nice. What type of rails and ties did you use to make the tracks?
  16. They are toy trains and not model trains. Correct scale and prototype accuracy are not high on their design requirements. You can always MOD-ify the train sets to your liking. It is not to hard to extend a LEGO train. Unlike traditional model trains, no cutting, gluing, and painting are required. Keep in mind that LEGO standard curves and switches are fairly sharp. Making your cars too long can lead to operations and running problems unless you upgrade to 3rd party tracks with larger radii.
  17. John Deere doesn't have a trademark on the color green. They do for the yellow deer on the green logo. It would look better if it was one shade of green only.
  18. And this set too: The-Big-Race-Day-41352-box-front-flat by FriendsBricks, on Flickr No shortage of sets having coaster tracks.
  19. Deadpool 2. I enjoyed it too. No spoilers from me.
  20. Track pieces can be purchased separately if you need them. There are track packs available at the LEGO Store or S@H and other retailers.
  21. Multinational company fun. Years ago, LEGO was coming out with a pencil holder set. The folks in UK did the marketing blurb for Canada. They wrote perfect for holding your pencils and rubbers. Rubbers are not erasers in Canada.
  22. You could break them down into small sets, mediums sets, large sets and flagship set topics. It is easier to do individual set topics over in the train forum since there are only about 3 new trains.

  24. Yay, tax deductions. Unfortunately, people with older devices running old iOS or Android versions are SOL.
