  1. Welcome aboard, Rich.
  2. Would they do an indepth level of IP review for approval to the voting stage? I don't think it would make business sense from a labour cost perspective. There are so many submissions and most don't make it to 10,000 votes. IP specialists/lawyers can get pretty pricy.
  3. They seem to fit.
  4. I take care of my LEGO. I don't throw out broken parts as they can be useful for other LEGO or non-LEGO projects. My LEGO is generally clean except for some that my cat used as kitty litter. So who would like to buy some kiddy kitty used LEGO?
  5. There are 1L technic round cylinder pieces. Would that work?
  6. I use them and also build with them.
  7. The cheapest way for me was to wire an AC to 9V DC adapter to a LEGO AA battery box. I had lots of old power adapters lying around.
  8. Welcome aboard, Justin. What are you studying? We have a number of RPGs here like Brethren of the Brick Seas.
  9. You can also play around with gear ratios for higher speeds.
  10. Have you tried taking your train away from your home and to another place to try pairing? Just to rule out RF interference in your home/location. PUP LED might be a bit more expensive than the old PF LED if they have to add an additional component to ID the LED to the PUP HUB.
  11. They don't want to compete with Sbrick but decided to go against Buzzwizz and Pfx bricks?
  12. A spectrum analyzer might be a handy tool to see what's going on. There are many devices that use the 2.4GHz band: wifi, bluetooth, cordless phones, wireless security cameras, microwave ovens, etc. Water can absorb radio waves in the 2.4GHz. Having a lot of people around can impact your radio performance and signal strength since the human body has much water content.
  13. Logan's Run TV series was ok for a 70s show. If you remember Logan's Run, you must over 30 years-old. I don't think that was allowed.
  14. Hook up all the motors and sensors. On the EV3 menu screen, you can select the 3rd tab for the Bricks apps which has programs for the motor control and sensor readings. From there you can control lthe motors and show what valves the sensors are reading. https://le-www-live-s.legocdn.com/ev3/userguide/1.4.0/ev3_userguide_enus.pdf
  15. Good thing I enjoy soldering. I could solder the PF connector cable from my dead GBC PF motors to the PU motor...if it gets to the point I have to buy PU motors. You just need to connect the two wires that go to the motor itself. Next Double VIP, double the PF motor purchasing time.
  16. Great job. Box cab electrics are cool.
  17. Looks nice. Could those open magnet couplers be a product liability risk?
  18. I buy bulk LEDs and resistors and wire up my own. Sounds like the connectors are patented. Does that mean 3rd parties will have to license for use with their products?
  19. I now pronounce you man and LEGO. You may kiss the bridge. Marriage by dr_spock_888, on Flickr A lighter blue background may work better?
  20. I haven't watched TV in a long time. I tried to repair a TV today. It doesn't power on. Checked the power supply and was only outputting 6.3V on the pin labeled 12V. Off to the city's household electronics dump site it goes.
  21. They replaced my broken Mindstorm NXT after a capacitor exploded inside years later. I had to send the broken one back though. Basically it costed me the cost of shipping. It wasn't bought directly from LEGO. Maybe they do factor in their cost of customer service/support into their wholesale pricing structure too.
  22. If there is an existing STL of the PF one, you could try to modify it. Replace the bottom 3 pins with the star shape and make disc smaller. MeshMixer might be a good tool to combine parts.
  23. Simpler instructions expand the "reach" of the products to more customers who may have not the same skill level. They have to start somewhere to get them hooked and maintain that revenue stream. A fun challenge would be to toss out the instructions and build the set based on the box pictures.
  24. I used blue but haven't yet for Technic pics unless 1/2 bushings count.
