[BTSC] BoBS Tournament Soccer Cup 618
dr_spock replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That's a good suggestion. I'll have to do some recoding and testing of the spreadsheet to support groups of 5 before we can start the matches. -
You could try a traceroute to see if you have a slow network router somewhere along the way here.

Welcome aboard. Great avatar.

Lego Shop not delivering to Parcel Locker (Rant)
dr_spock replied to diepotato47's topic in Community
I get packages for my daughter's university friend who lives in student resident and her packages (non-LEGO) keep getting lost. I think with LEGO S@H, you can ship the package to a friend's or relative's home address. That could be an option if you have nearby relatives or non-student resident friends. -
It may be beneficial to convert bitmaps (jpeg) files to a vector file. Or look for SVG files online of the graphics you want. With a vector file, you can scale the graphic up without it becoming too pixelated. There are open source programs like Inkscape that can edit vector files and do the bitmap conversion too. It depends on your source material. Resizing from big to small, I usually don't need to do that for my stickers.

[BTSC] BoBS Tournament Soccer Cup 618
dr_spock replied to dr_spock's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you everyone for entering the 618 BoBS Cup. I love your creativity and humour. With 9 teams entered, I may change the format to 3 groups of 3. Adding 7 NPCs is too many. That's nearly 50% of the teams which increases the chances of NPCs winning. -
Welcome to Eurobricks, Alejandro. Photographing LEGO is fun.

Welcome aboard, Wifey Blocks.

It looks simple to use. No profiles to load, no iOS or Android version compatibility issues. I wonder if they'll do a speed controller version for trains.

Sounds like fun. Ghost train would be good since I have to build something for the Lego Discovery Centre Adult Night Halloweeen theme. Out of my comfort zone would be my local country trains since I build mainly foreign trains.

Build The Impossible

It looks like you built the impossible NDA. Is it impossible to break your NDA? -
Signature Technic Quirks?
dr_spock replied to jwarner's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I add signature technic beams, bricks and tiles to my MOCs. It makes it easier to identify and pack up my stuff after an event. -
Welcome aboard, Gneird.

Nice job. Have you considered white for the hand rails? It's more visible than bley for engineer's safety. If you plan to use a train motor, you may have to adjust the fuel tank and/or mount point. It looks like it might be in way of the longer motor bogie. Don't forget the Ad Blue (urea) exhaust gas scrubber for extra enviro-Friendliness bonus points.

Nice review. I wonder if the mechanism can be modified so that it eats and poops like the Creator Rainforest Animats' parrot. Canadian Thanksgiving is coming up in a couple weeks. It might be fun to put on on the dining table.

Do You Consider the Unikitty Blind Bags to be CMF?
dr_spock replied to Schwa's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Brickset and Brlicklink classify them under Collectible Minifigures. https://brickset.com/minifigs/category-Collectible-Minifigures/subcategory-Unikitty! https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=41775-1#T=S&O={"iconly":0} LEGO calls them collectible figures. https://shop.lego.com/en-CA/Unikitty-Collectibles-Series-1-41775 -
Very nice. Clever motor mount. Will you have a group photo of all your engines together?

Got scammed on Ebay.......got money back but still kind pissed
dr_spock replied to LegoDW's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Walmart auction off skid loads of their open boxes, returns, damaged, overstocks, etc. You can bid on a skid of their AS-IS goods on their auction website. If you win, then resell each item separately online such as on eBay or in your own discount warehouse store. Maybe someone ended up with that box of rice at auction. You never know... -
[MOC] Laura's Narrow-Gauge Rolling Stock Roster
dr_spock replied to Laura Beinbrech's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice. I used those small wheels in my MOC of a Stadler GTW2/6. Some lube might be good to prevent ABS dust if you plan to run all day at an event.- 11 replies

Desert752 built one for his entry in the "TRIPLE" contest we had over in the Technic forum a few years ago.

Here's a link to a pic on my flickr. Oops. It should be fixed now.
