  1. All that smoked trans-black on the tram is cool.
  2. Have you tried contacting LEGO customer service? They may replace defective parts.
  3. Congrats to the winners. Well done.
  4. Great job building a station to your LUG requirements. You have an interesting round tiles and studs ballasting technique.
  5. Thanks for the comparison. At one time I was thinking of MODing the 60052 into the Maersk GP40 design. Looking at the Maersk build instructions, it doesn't seem too hard (and expensive if you don't mind not having the Maersk blue colors).
  6. Sit down and physically count them. That's the most exact way. There are methods to estimate by weight, sets you own, etc.
  7. ME large radii tracks are good if you have the space for them. If you're tight for space in your home, then standard LEGO curves would have to do.
  8. YMMV - Your Mileage May Vary. Even the same brand of batteries may have production or design changes depending when you bought them or which plant/country they were made in. You could also "raise up" the contact with solder. It wouldn't get lost like tin balls.
  9. Thanks Amiko. I connected my PF LED to the second channel on the IR receiver and ran the wire under the 4x4 white tiles with studs. Welcome to Eurobricks. I don't have my engine in one piece any more but here are some pics of what I did minus the PF LEDs. I used a headlight brick instead of a technic 1x1 brick so that I can attach a round transclear stud for headlight lens. The modification was to the front platform to create a gap so that wires can fit under the nose. The wires were basically run from the IR receiver under white 4x4 tiles with studs, then under the seat of the engineer, and bunch up in the nose.
  10. Ha, my cat walked through my train table without knocking over any trains but he knocked down the 60052 gantry crane.
  11. It appears that the new green is also used for the small base for the Junior sets like 10679 Pirate Treasure Hunt.
  12. Good job. Captain Braunsfeld would approve.
  13. Fantastic build. Interesting to spot SpongeBob's Patrick in a booth.
  14. License = higher costs for you and me. Our friends over in the Technics forum know and complain they paid extra for the Mercedes logo on the 8110 Unimog set.
  15. They would fit in the 1x4x3 space that the tan train windows would take up. You won't have the rounded corners of the windows. I believe someone has used them in place of the tan train windows on this forum.
  16. Welcome to Eurobricks. Great job on the fort and village. 1 by bafigueira, on Flickr
  17. Welcome aboard, Sir Valiant. Happy to see one of my scouting missions join Eurobricks!
  18. Thanks for the review. Does the window panes snap into the one piece wall? Looks like pearl gold round tiles for gold pieces now?
  19. Great build. You captured it well. I don't think many of us here were even born when the movie first came out. Who's still afraid to go into the water?
  20. TGV inspired the design of the Horizon Express. HE doesn't have the TGV lettering on the side of the engine like the real TGV.
  21. Alien Conquest: Prepare for Invasion. Day 024 of 365: Alien Conquest by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  22. We have the same lens. I came from film SLR too. I bought a Canon Digital Rebel XT in 2005. The main difference I find with digital is you can change the ISO from shot to shot, you're not stuck at a film speed for the whole roll of film. Which parts of the camera are you getting confused?
  23. Welcome aboard.
  24. Does more time on emails mean less time packing and shipping?
  25. Rechargeables work for me when running the 60052 straight out of the box. Just make sure you get batteries whose positive tip fits through the plastic opening to the positive metal contacts. Or if you are not squirmish, you can try v6TransAM's suggestion of reaming the plastic openings larger.
