Disappointed Lego Customer Service - Order cancelled
dr_spock replied to m3eu's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Or they double counted inventory or entered wrong values into the database. Don't think big data and massive computing power is a god send solution. It still boils down to how good and accurate the data you put in. There's a saying, "garbage in, garbage out." LEGO had too many problems with fraud. That's their policy. Find some friends or family in the country of shipping and have them buy it and forward to you.- 16 replies

Reminds me of those extensible semi-trailers for some reason.

Welcome to Eurobricks. What kind of macro lens do you have? I have a Canon 60mm which seems to be ok for LEGO work. What kind of DSLR? MOD=modification. If you are an acronym person, then you could say MOD = My Own Deviations.

Welcome aboard.

I think Chicago is the one to go to. Will you be bringing your GBC modules with you? I believe Tom Atkinson coordinates the GBC display.

You won't know if you don't try. You could start small with your local church and find out what people there might be interested in.

If getting more bricks is an issue, why not design and build your MOCs around what bricks you have? I think it could be more challenging and satisfying.

Want to make non-LEGO LEDs
dr_spock replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It will depend on the type of LEDs you're using and the power source. Here's an article on how to pick resistors for LEDs: http://www.evilmadscientist.com/2012/resistors-for-leds/ -
You would have to make some MOD for the PF LEDs. I added them for ditch lights on mine. You basically have to MOD the nose and front floor to make a gap for the wires to feed through. 60052 Cargo Train MOD by dr_spock_888, on Flickr

I remember your train entry last year. It was different. -
Technic guys into trains
dr_spock replied to davidmull's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You can use Technics parts for train MOC like motors, axles, gears, pins, technic bricks, etc. Come over to the Train forum. There are MOCs of those engines. The 60052 is pretty easy to MOD into a toy GP38. 60052 Cargo Train MOD by dr_spock_888, on Flickr -
Technic guys into trains
dr_spock replied to davidmull's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I like trains. Rediscovered my love for LEGO trains last year. Used to be into HO scale model trains too. -
I bought 60052, built it, and ended up parting it into a passenger train.

Welcome to trains. I'm a Technic guys turned to trains recently. Sets are not released every year like Technic flagships or sets. There are two streams of trains. There are CITY train sets which are geared towards kids. They come complete with tracks and Power Functions ready to run out of the box. There is the Creator Expert series which are more adult oriented with more details. They don't come with tracks or PFs. You can query Bricksets for the list of trains. Currenty CITY trains are 60051 passenger train and 60052 cargo train. There isn't a Creator Expert currently. 10233 Horizon Express has been discontinued. You might be able still find one here or there in retail stores or on BrickLink/Ebay.

Parry with your sabre, not your arm! I used to teach fencing and had to remind my beginners. :-D I built this module for ToroLUG's collectible minifigures series 13 habitat display collaboration. I don't have the series 13 fencers figs yet so Vader and Jar Jar are stand-ins. Day 013 of 365: Fencer Habitat by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Not really hate Jar Jar. Just wondering what could happen if his luck runs out. Maybe some pain killers can help with the pain. Day 014 of 365: Pain Killers by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Thanks. It is about 8 inches tall. The legs come off and fit inside the Death Star planet along with the body. Makes for easy transport to LUG events. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=514955

8258 Crane Truck. BTW, I think DrJB posted the same question just last month (Dec2014) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=103427 -
What's with this plethora of tiny parts?
dr_spock replied to DrJB's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Tweezers are your Friends. I don't think it is any different than tiny parts packs sold for superdetailing scale model trains like HO or N. -
I believe it was 2013. I don't recall any triple points in 2014. You picked a time to return when LEGO is more popular than ever and not much incentives required to drive sales.

https://lan.lego.com/static/build/docs/LEGO_Ambassador_Network_-_The_LEGO_LUGBULK_Program.pdf CONFIDENTIALITY โ Individual LEGO element prices viewable in the online ordering platform are confidential and should be restricted to AFOLs who are participating in the program. I don't think there is confidentiality on the program, just the pricing. If it is not on available list, then it is not LUGBULK orderable.

What the color change in the Green baseplates?
dr_spock replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It's a $2 increase in Canada to $9.99. That's about $8.50 in US Dollars. Many AFOLs seem to use trans-blue, trans-light blue and trans-clear studs for water now instead of blue base plates.
