  1. Freebuild #1 June 616 There will be order on Isla de Romantica through liberal application of gun powder and shots. Monkey spies are everywhere. Watch your flank. Cannon Wagon by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  2. Amtrak has released a video of its final AEM-7 run: Thanks for the picture from the museum. Looks like they received the original DC version from Amtrak. I like those Budd Metroliners too. I never did end up getting them in HO scale back in the 1980s as planned. I think school or girls got in the way... Thank you. That's a Viewliner Sleeper. Is there a coach version of the Viewliner coming out? I think a diner and a sleeper/baggage versions are in testing? A Viewliner coach would be good, then I don't have to make a Amfleet II car MOC. I think North East Corridor modernization has been in the works for a long long time. If Congress should provide more funding to Amtrak. Yeah, those ACS-64s have overhang. I wonder if a LEGO version would have problems on those R40 curves and switches taking out track side plants and structures. Grazie.
  3. Thank you for taking on the write up. It was an uneventful MRCA (for me).
  4. Nice ballroom. Sounds like Gangwolf is playing piano chords A, B, B, A. Maybe music from Dr. Hook like When You're In Love with a Beautiful Gorilla will get the disco going.
  5. Earlier in the week, I sent my STL file to my local public library which offers 3D printing. The job was ready for pickup today. It costed me around $2 CAD to print 4 of the 13L half-width beams. They were printed with the holes laid flat per Efferman's advice. They feel pretty rough. They need cleanup and polishing. A 7L LEGO injection molded half beam for comparison, LEGO wins in quality.
  6. On June 18, 2016 Amtrak's AEM-7s made their final revenue run. After 37 years and over 220 million miles the electric locomotives are retired from service. The AEM-7s were also known as "toasters" for their boxy toaster shape and as "meatballs" for their ASEA Swedish components. They were replacements for the GG1s and GE E60s. Now they are replaced by the ACS-64. They were one of my favorite electric locomotives growing up. I was thrilled when they electrified the Northeast Corridor all the way to Boston, MA and I could see them from my bedroom window. Sad to see them go. Farewell to AEM-7 by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  7. Awesome. Thanks for sharing. I was wondering what you were going to do with all those minidolls you were collecting.
  8. It shouldn't be too hard to program a microcontroller to communicate directly with a BT game controller. Hmm, is that USB port power charging only?
  9. ^GoldVillage already posted that 2 posts up. The new pump looks like it has a Technic pin hole. Could it be adaptable to being driven by motor?
  10. What is your GBC BWE lift? Do you have an EB topic for it? Curious to see what it is.
  11. Cool. This can be great for LEGO trains. All self-contained unit is really useful and handy for those small shunter engine MOCs. I suppose you could pry/cut open the case to desolder the battery and solder in a new one when battery replacement time comes.
  12. LED lighting in the daylight spectrum would be low power usage and help distinguish between old grey and new grey. Also dark blue and blacks. http://www.westinghouselighting.com/color-temperature.aspx
  13. Congratulations to the EB Team.
  14. Oh no, not Trains. Let's see them try to spam the Review Academy forum. Who says you can't be burly and have soft skin?
  15. Nice. Must be a happy father's day for Vader.
  16. But you don't have the 42055 yet. My 42009 is still MSIB. I'll get around building it one day. I would keep my first self-bought LEGO set, 7710.
  17. Interesting. FPGAs aren't the easiest to work with. I guess you can get parallel hardware processing and speed in exchange for complexity. The dev board seems to make it easier without having to wire your own flash memory, JTAG, 3.3V voltage regulator, etc.
  18. Cool. You use a power pack car like the prototype FEC railroad uses a LNG fuel car -> http://www.railpictures.net/photo/580557/
  19. Excellent build. Great idea to have removable walls for photography.
  20. The tires do look too wide for OEM tires. They look like upsized tires that a Vdub owner would MOD his ride. I plan to MOD set with the same tires as the spare tire and the ones on the VW T1 Camper.
  21. There is already a thread on this topic in the Community Forum -> http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3764
