  1. Nice review. Much more interesting models than they appear at first glance. For some reason, though, more so than most, the excavator specifically looks to me like it should transform into a robot at any moment!
  2. Nice! Those stud shooters work surprisingly well as scoops.
  3. Welcome to EB, im_hungry! I'm a scifi and Star Trek fan myself, and this Bird of Prey looks awesome! The color scheme with the dark red accents is nice... and a lot easier to do in Lego than all the variations of green or browns that we usually see them in. Choosing the command deck and mess hall as the main play areas to feature makes sense. Are you sure you don't want to build in a tank for holding whales? As for sharing pictures, the paperclip/upload option on Eurobricks that you're talking about is only for very small images to be used in your signature line here on the board and that sort of stuff. You only get 100K total, so even 1 regular image pushed you to the limit of available space. For sharing photos of MOCs, etc., you'll want to use a 3rd party service and since you're already using Flickr, here's a tutorial on linking/embedding Flickr images in your posts: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/97921-flickr-tutorial/ Looking forward to seeing how this comes together in real bricks! Happy building.
  4. Wow - so much lovely detail in such a small area! The tree is nice, and that bit of ruins looks good with that texture and color selection.
  5. Quite nice. The hood ornament in the last few photos is a bit big, but I like the silver claws used for ornamentation on the back - that's a great detail that adds a lot to the overall look.
  6. Looks great! I know it's not the most complicated part of the build, but that fence is really well done and ties into the rock work nicely.
  7. A lot to like here! That plant is spiffy, good use of the trans panel for the hologram, and definitely a great entrance you've made there. I like the detail of the control panel being angled toward the visitor.
  8. Looking good! Doing an interior as well, or just exterior and landscaping?
  9. Great build! That roof looks great for the relatively simple technique - really works well with the building style, too. The blocky base and classic palm trees give this a lovely neo-classic feel.
  10. I... uh... I'm going to need a moment here to process this... They're so beautiful.
  11. Looks great. Some nice parts usage throughout. I would consider adding some multicolored 1x1 round plates or tiles scattered at the bottom to simulate aquarium gravel.
  12. That's a fun use of that new part! Of course, a 1x2 version of it would probably help with the scale, but nice for what we've got to work with at the moment.
  13. Lovely compact but complete shop. The use of the old windows on the front is nice, and the, uh, "production facility" in the back looks like what I'd expect for the type of product they're selling.
  14. Hi.
  15. Boy, back when photos were taken on actual film? I don't think so, but might have a couple of pics of the Star Trek stuff I build around the same time. I remember building a micro starship Enterprise out of, like, 10 pieces and letting my imagination do the rest! And the A-wing is lovely, too! Like you said, if some visionary had thought a little more creatively at the time maybe Lego would have skipped some of the Jack Stone type of stuff along the way.
  16. Welcome to EB, Evan (on your almost 1-year anniversary)! Glad you found your way out of the dark ages and to Eurobricks. Happy building!
  17. Such a wonderful, nostalgic build! Thanks for putting in the effort to make the instructions.
  18. This is fantastic! The scale is deceptive at first glance, and you've made great use of it. Wonderful job capturing so many of the details and design elements, and you've kept the look even with the foreshortening. Would love to see the entire facade done this way!
  19. Those are excellent! I definitely made some myself back in the day, but the thing that strikes me the most is how good these can look just using some more modern SNOT techniques even with the limited parts palette of the time.
  20. Fantastic! I love the little details and choices you've made throughout. Using a cookie and a waffle for log ends in the woodpile is interesting (the waffle might be a bit of a stretch, but the cookie definitely works!), the hammers used as stonework, bigfig pieces used in the landscape, so many interesting textures used without them being distracting - all great stuff.
  21. I see- I had assumed you had that part of the model that was still built and then a pile of additional pieces that went with it. Without that, it's just a matter of being creative with how the rest of the model was designed unless someone does have a picture of the completed model somewhere or the instructions. Good luck!
  22. I assume it's this one: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?G=KC018#T=P There were a bunch of them that were Pirate-themed starting from 1989/1990 (like this one of yours) and various similar releases since. You can see some of them here: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=G&catString=334.61.688 I think the one you're referring to may have only been available in the UK, and was certainly less common - may have been an item available to Lego Club members at the time, like the Islander one from the same era. I guess technically yours would be a "keyring" not "keychain" since it had the black plastic loop instead of the metal chain. While uncommon, I don't think it's particularly rare or high-value. It looks like the last one that sold on Bricklink went for USD $10, but still a neat item to have.
  23. Welcome to EB, NicoVolberg! It's probably unlikely - but not impossible! - that someone will have the instructions, but if you post the rest of the loose parts as well I imagine it wouldn't be that hard to figure out how it goes together.
  24. Looks very nice, with a good amount of detail added so it's not just a bland, single-color blob. Those curved slopes on the hinge sides of the gates add some nice visual interest there as well which otherwise might have just been more of the same. Nice build.
