  1. Very nice! You've nailed the look you were going for- I could see myself pining for that setup while looking at a 1989 Lego catalog!
  2. Nice chair and (simple but effective) desk, and the floor pattern & technique is lovely. Well done.
  3. Hull sections: 64645 64651 95227 All available is reasonable quantities, and would cost you probably about $10 altogether (they're only $1-2 each, generally) The slope you're talking about (Slope 65º 2x2x2) is part number 3678a/b (a without bottom tube, b with) are available in tan but a little less widely available so they'd probably end up running in in the $0.60-0.70/ea range for the quantity you need.
  4. Fantastic colors, really nice creatures, and that water- that's the most original technique I've seen! Just great!
  5. The minifig posing for the "maintenance" is great!
  6. Welcome to EB! Have you checked out http://www.brickit.co for generating a mosaic? I've used it before and it seems pretty solid. After uploading your pic you can define the mosaic size, generate a parts list, etc., and the results seem pretty good... plus it's very easy to use.
  7. Yes- not the same mold as the old large classic hull pieces, but same overall dimensions so you can definitely make it work for this MOC. You'll need to use another bow piece for the front and build-out the bit for the rudder, but that should work fine and would be a far easier compromise IMHO than changing up the whole color scheme.
  8. I'm also not 100% on the head, but overall it's very nice, and I love the color scheme!
  9. WOW! The lava looks so fluid! Great rock work (and the scorched areas) and overall design, too.
  10. Very nice! I really like all the vendors, and the way you hung up the shark for the fishmonger caught my eye. Lovely.
  11. Super design all-round! NPU on the 1x2 log brick on the back!
  12. Love the Classic Castle feel with the extra details layered on! As others have said, the use of the old sloped baseplate is excellent and I almost missed it! Nice posing of the poor villagers, too.
  13. Lovely scene, and great photography. And I, too, love those stairs!
  14. Nice scene, and I fully agree that the usage of bricks for the 2 minifigs in their seated positions is great!
  15. Beautiful all-around, and such NPU on the tree! It looks great... and it makes me think of a story about an enchanted tree that absorbs the axes of any woodsman who tries to fell it.

    Super cake

That cake is just "super"! Simple cake, but all the action you added is great and it looks like it fit in very well with the rest of the party theme.
  17. That is a fascinating marketing piece. Huh. Does it serve any purpose when assembled (like, are those holes at the top meant for something)?
  18. Maybe I should go check my mail! Really, though, I know it's off-topic, but that sounds interesting- can you post a pic of it?
  19. Welcome to EB! And I look forward to sharing the pain of missed Modulars-past with yet another addicted AFOL.
  20. Love it! I'm a big castle and space fan, so I've always kinda felt that they're concurrent and it's simply the style they choose to live in on the ground when they're not cruising around in space, not necessarily accurately reflecting their level of technological advancement. The ship and tower design are both nice, and I like all the posing. The squashed guy under the engine is gruesome and delightful.
  21. Ah, yes- I meant to comment on that as well. It would have been far too muddled and dark between the masts, sails, and rigging without that little touch, and it looks great.
  22. I think it's great. Not out-of-scale for an official set, and really gives a much more complete feel to the whole thing. Wish the official set had taken this route.
  23. I can confirm- no sound. I think they're just generally classified with the "Light & Sound System" bricks, but these were light-only. Also curious about replacing the battery... I'll have to dig some out, too!
  24. The whole build is excellent, but definitely another vote for the fabulous NPU with the fencing helmet! The mantis is just SO well executed.
  25. Nice! The waves crashing against the rocks is some NPU. :)
