Nice. Maybe you can make a mini-Ash to go with it, in the style of your Algernon Moncrieff!

[SoNE Ep IX - Freebuild 1] Wake up call
deraven replied to LucasLaughing's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
The proportions and detail are great, and it's a lovely homage. I agree that the micro TIE Bomber is excellent! -
Wow! The whole build is brilliant, but I especially love that dog! Great work!

Right- we have a similar (but larger) set on the windows in our den, and I've never heard them called anything but "Plantation Blinds" (though googling does come up with "Plantation Shutters" as well, but also always used inside from what I can see) and they are distinctly different from exterior shutters. As for the original question, I've also only ever seen shutters on the exterior and only occasionally operable from the inside as (at least in all the places I've seen them, and assuming they aren't just fixed in place as a decorative element) their purpose is to protect the windows in case of a severe storm and not for daily use for shade and such since that's what curtains or blinds are for.

Gorgeous! Wonderful level of detail in that small vig space! -
Clever concept and very well executed! Really unique and refershing to see something different like that to shake things up. Bravo!

[MOC] Sleeping Beauty Castle and Cinderella's Carriage
deraven replied to Stephle59's topic in LEGO Licensed
Stunning, and absolutely fantastic! The color scheme really works, and the structure has just the right level of detail with more intricate bits spread around the build that I'm sure really holds people's interest when looking it over. Beautifully done! -
A beautiful rendition at that size! I really like the way you did the cockpit- definitely one of the stumbling block when trying to make a Viper MOC more compact.

That's just completely unnecessary. And so awesome! -
Congrats on the upcoming addition to the family- soon you'll have another demand on your finances to add to your list... but at least it's easier to make the case for Lego purchase being for the kid than vehicular modifications! Welcome to EB!

I'm not a fan of harming Lego, but drastic measures to save 12v elements seems reasonable. Wow- I'm impressed that you were able to cut that pin in half so well! Still have all you finger tips, I hope! A half-pin would probably be easier as dr_spock noted, but I think your result looks better in the end than that would. This is great little tutorial to have up here; nice contribution to the community!

OMG, the brick separators! The sausage for the mouth is also NPU. I can see why you've got that phobia, if this is always how the "nice, happy clown" comes out! Nice little build.

That's lovely! I really like the barn (the roof is simple but effective, and doors are great!), the little garden out back, and the equipment shed. I can see a lot of time went into getting the little details right. A suggestion about your presentation, though- try fewer of the overall "big-picture" shots in the post and add some of the detailed ones since there's great stuff that can't be seen unless someone clicks through to the flickr link.

That is the greatest Bird-Ate-a-Box-and-Died Class ship I've ever seen! Nice build with the interior details crammed in, and fun story.

[MOC] History of the Batmobile in Mini-Scale Project

Just great! I especially like the 60's and Futura models! And, yes, with just those few bricks you've made an instantly-recognizable Batman and Robin duo. -
Game/Movie Medieval Heroes - custom minifigs
deraven replied to Ltfalcon's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Ah, OK. Big to Decool product, but otherwise still a nice result! -
I pulled one out of a drawer and 30391 fits a round 2x2 tile just fine, but I wasn't really thinking about the hub (as there are any number of ways to attach the tile, or even just have it sitting on there), but it turns out you're right and it's a 2346. You can clearly see it on the tire if you go a couple photos over in the stream. And looking at more pictures where you can see some of the steering assembly, I think 6248 hubs in gray are correct as well.

The overall scene and posing, etc. is very nice... but that diving mech! That's fantastic! Also, the hats on top of the diving helmets!

Game/Movie Medieval Heroes - custom minifigs
deraven replied to Ltfalcon's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Overall the figure is great, and I like the way you've kept the bow on there with the rubber band... and that custom tankard is still excellent! I'm also curious about the torso and legs as I don't recognize the print. -
I'm pretty sure it's 30391 ( http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/30391 ) and it does come up in LDD if you search that part #.

Well, up until a few months ago I would have said it's surely worldwide... but with all the price hikes and changes to promotions TLG has been doing, now I couldn't tell you. I get that they need to increase prices (shame they didn't plan ahead and do it more gradually), but also chopping the promotions we've come to expect at the same time is really disappointing. Double VIP points for only the first 4 days (with the "free" holiday set with $99 purchase not starting until the middle of the month) =
