[spoilers for the X-Wing series and Courtship of Princes Leia] The TIE Raptor or TIE/rpt was a starfighter design used by Warlord Zsinj's Empire during his reign from the Battle of Endor until his final defeat at the hands of the Hapan Royal Navy. A fast and manouverable design, it was not a regular SFS product like other TIE models, but was produced from Sienar components at the shipyards of Zsinj's hideout - Rancor Base - over Dathomir. Raptors are known to have participated in the battles of Vahaba and Selaggis, and were most likely used in many other missions and engagements, since Zsinj's elite troopers (also named Raptors) used them for space combat. The TIE/rpt was equipped with 4 laser cannons and 2 concussion missile launchers, but like most TIE models, lacked shielding, though some prototypes were produced. I admit my design is far from perfect, but I hope you still enjoy seeing my take on the Raptor. Pictures can be found on my Flickr page: Technical data and history of the TIE Raptor: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/TIE/rpt_starfighter You can learn more about Zsinj here: http://www.starwars.com/news/the-imperial-warlords-despoilers-of-an-empire-part-1 http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Zsinj

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka; Freebuild: Looking for Rebels Location: Kuat Time: 9 am Persons involved: Mads Heering; Stormtrooper Orwell Haggins; Stormtrooper Cornell Haggins; Stormtrooper The story: Three stormtroopers, Mads Heering the driver, Orwell Haggins the navigator and Cornell Haggins the gunner are driving through the wasteland of Kuat. Their mission is to spot Rebel activity on Kuat and report it. They're driving a new model of speeder. Actually, they're testing it. It is dispensable and so are they. They joined the imperial army 2 weeks ago and they still think they'll see the whole galaxy, fight great battles and change history. Perhaps they will, but at the moment they're driving through Kuat and looking for rebels. Additional photos: Conclusion: It was hard for me to post this build. It cannot match all those fantastic builds on this forum and my photographic skills are far from good. But still, I'd like to contribute to SoNE, so, if possible, please judge this build. Thanks for your attention!

Aside from patrolling the Tatooine dunes, Merc was assigned as local security for the Mos Eisley spaceport in search of a suspicious Rodian. Merc: Looks like we're here. Last part of our patrol route, Mos Eisley. Trooper: Worst part of Tatooine too. Merc: You heard stories about this place? Trooper: Plenty. Not too long ago there was something about two guys in a bar who picked a fight with some scrawny farm boy. You think they'd have no problem right? But then the kids old man showed up and chopped off one of the guys' arm. Merc: Heh, guess its true what they say. You won't find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than in Mos Eisley. Sergeant: Hey, you two! Quit standing around. Get back to searching for that Rodian. Trooper & Merc: Yes sir! Merc: Hey there's one over by that street vendor. Think it could be him? Trooper: Blasted, they all look the same to me. Merc: Come on, lets check it out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey guys, back with a small free-build. I initially had a larger set-up prepared but due to a lack of tan pieces I made it a vignette instead. Also the back beams are not my design. Please judge this build.

Sgt. Lucas Kirana: It happened again … this time while I was on Naboo. A bounty hunter working an unrelated job recognized former ISB Agent Goatm An, posing as a merchant captain. I'd been assigned to 'terminate' Goatm almost a year earlier and although we'd had one close encounter, most of the time it felt like I was chasing a ghost. This was the first solid lead we'd had in months. By the time I got to Naboo, the local garrison had identified the ship Goatm had been using, which led them to a house near the spaceport. It was the perfect cover for someone posing as a merchant working his way into respectability. The troops confirmed the house was empty, and then set-up a perimeter. They had orders not to touch or disturb anything before the scanning crew and ISB liaison arrived. They showed me inside, but I'm afraid I didn't make it too far... There was a plant. Something about the smell, or the shape ... reminded me... Something I'd seen before... Shortly after our first encounter, the ISB tracked Goatm to his mother's home planet: Aquilae. They sent a team of agents after him, but lost contact with the agents shortly after they landed. As the sun rose, I saw why. Goatm had been busy. Some of the bodies were already decayed, but others were fresh. Goatm was close, or he had been very recently. The stench was horrific … it was hard to breathe, the humid jungle air tasted of decay … and the flies … can a swarm of flies make that much noise? … the sound rising and falling ... as if the swarm itself had a … a voice... Yes, of course. I was just contemplating our next move. What's up? It's the scanning crew, sir. They found something. Good. … Was there something else, trooper? Uh, respectfully, sir, we've cleared the building, so you can secure your side arm. If you want to. Sir. My pistol. I hadn't even realized I'd drawn it. Roger that. Old habits … where's the scanning crew? Follow me, sir. To be continued ... Update - part 2 finally posted.

Dear LEGO and Star Wars enthusiasts, I'm glad to present to you my first MOC attempt, Lord Vader's personal TIE advanced, made in February. Last December, due to TFA hype, I've rediscovered my long-dozing passion for Star Wars and so/also, after more than 12 years, I restarted to build Legos. I was very disappointed, though, by TLG's 8017, and so I decided to design & build a TIE advanced, one of my favorite iconic starships, on my own. A great help came from the new cockpit parts (and sketch) from 75082 (Inquisitor's TIE advanced), which made everything simpler. Also, after discovering EB, I was able to admire many great MOCs, and certainly was influenced by many of them (moreover, discovering bricklink was quite like finding a goldmine). I've tried my best to obtain a balance among movie accuracy, playability and extreme SWOOOOOSHability. The model is in minifig scale, and even if it's quite big (with respect to 8017 and 75150), it's very lightweight. Piece count is about 500. I hope these photographs will give you a quite faithful portrait of my model, anyway I find their lack of tridimensionality disturbing. (Imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/M62yW) As regards the wings/solar panels, I tried to make them look as streamlined as possible, in contrast with the popular thick-contoured solution as seen in 9492 TIE (I was happy to see that TLG used a very similar approach in set 75150, TIE advanced + A-wing from Rebels). Rear views: Having a closer look to the central "core": i decided to use those smooth quarter-of-half-sphere pieces for the rear part of the cockpit. To recreate the gradual emergence of the central rectangle on the back, i placed small sloped pieces by its side, as you can see. (You can see that the wing/solar panel attachments are really solid. In fact the model is extremely swooshable and it won't come apart even in performing the most extreme flying maneuvers :D :D) As regards the front of the cockpit, I tried my best to give it a spherical outline: Inside of the cockpit (partially disassembled to look better inside): And finally the underside, showing the play features: laser shooters, activated by sliding with a finger on the round valve, and the engine-hyperdrive compartment with a special place to clip Vader's lightsaber. Unfortunately, i'm missing the minifigure of Lord Vader himself. When i'll get one, i'll update this post with a photo of him inside the cockpit. I hope that you will appreciate my little model, and I can't wait to receive your feedback and suggestions. :)

(This is my re-introduction into SoNE! Hope you enjoy the build. I'd like it to be judged.) Windusky entered the meeting room, after taking a deep breath. He had just finished his training last week, and already he had a well known officer recruiting him for his regiment. Windusky: "Reporting for duty, sir." Officer Crux: "Stand at attention, rookie." "Yes sir!" "Your strategy skill is quite impressive. Your test statistics show high scores." "I've been the best at holochess and battle-starship since i was a kid." "I see. Now, before i test your strategy skill for myself, i have your first mission. I need you to over see the mining operation on Kessel. Make sure the miners are doing their jobs right." "When should i head out?" "ASAP. Oh, and sergeant Thast here will be accompanying you." Sarg. Thast: "Your sending me with this rookie?" "Yes, to teach him the ropes. Now, you two get going. I want a report on the mining progress tomorrow." - "Yes sir!" Officer Rand: "You seem awfully sure of Windu's skills. Are you sure of him?" "I am. Weren't you paying attention during his strategy challenges?" "I was, until i fell asleep because he kept winning." "That's what i mean. He's good. He could even possibly take your place soon." "All i know is that you better have a good explanation to Lord Vader if Windu fails to fill his expectations." "Understood." To be Continued... Let me know what you think! CC is welcome, and i hope you enjoyed my re-introduction! I'll be working on the next freebuild soon! More pics of the build on my flickr page.

Officer: "Hello, and welcome to final review. You have now passed all required classes to graduate the academy." DLL: "Yes!" Officer: *clearing throat* "Average scores in Military tactics, average scores in Imperial History, average scores in engineering and technology courses... Average marksmanship. It says here in special notes that your professors found you to be... average. But good at following orders." DLL: "Yes. I'm very good at that." Officer: "Please be quiet." DLL: "..." Officer: "Good. You will be assigned to a Stormtrooper regiment now that you have successfully graduated. Your name will be DLL-5222. Is this understood?" DLL: "..." Officer: "you may speak." DLL: "Understood perfectly! Oh I'm so excited!" Officer: "I can tell. Now, before you leave, we must review several other items." DLL: "Yes, officer." Officer: "It says here that your parents are deceased." DLL: "Yes. Killed by rebels!" Officer: "Tragic. No... force sensitivity in your family of which you are aware?" DLL: "None! I tested negative every single time." Officer: "Excellent. It also says here that you have associated with Gotals... Filthy creatures." DLL: "Ha, yeah, sometimes they can smell pretty bad when they don't bathe! " Officer: "Indeed. And... what inspired you to join the imperial troops?" DLL: "I want to do my part! Like my Ma and Pa! I'm sure they would have wanted me to join up and help end the chaos and war that the rebellion is causing! I just want to make the galaxy a better place! " Officer. "Great. Review is over. DLL-5222, proceed to processing. You have officially graduated the Imperial Academy." DLL: "Yay! I'm gonna be a stormtrooper! Oh, Ma and Pa would be so proud!" Officer" *to the other officer* "She won't last a single deployment." Other Officer: "No. She's a goner for sure." Officer: "Next!" _________________ Just a quick little build to Introduce my character. Hope you like it! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Personnel Files: Currently, on Tatooine... I'm innocent, you Imperial goons! I have no idea what you are talking about! We've intercepted transmissions from your home detailing Imperial patrol movements in your neighborhood. While we don't know exactly who the intended recipients of these transmissions are, we do know the only reason why someone would send them is to help the Rebellion organize against us. It wasn't me! I've been framed! We'll let the interrogation droid determine that. TK-8554, hold on. Sir? See, see?! Listen to your commander! She knows I'm telling the truth! It's time for your initiation. Heh. Initiation? What's going to happen is that this Rebel sympathizer scum is going to resist arrest. And in the ensuing struggle, you are going to put a blaster bolt through him. Then we will leave his decrepit corpse here to desiccate and mummify as a warning to others who might think of betraying the Empire. And in my report, I will state how well you handled your first assignment. Wait...I'm just an old man! You can't do this! YOU FIEND! <pew> Congratulations, "Fiend". And welcome to Razer Squad. All comments and criticisms welcome!

After our briefing with the Commander, all of our troops rushed to their respective positions asap, I was tasked to deploy our troops safely in the frigate. The team boarded on HAAT/i(High Altitude Assault transport), which I flew safely to one of the safer hangar bays on the ship. The drop zone posed little threat with a few rebel troops disintegrated with my front beam guns. As soon as the area was clear, the task team consisting of the Lego Dwarf, Beltar, Tariq J, Kodan Black led by shadow commando Lord Tyrus, deployed and formed a perimeter before each headed out to his own mission.

Imperial Star Destroyer Avenger - in hyperspace, en route to classified location. This isn't what I signed on for. There's a reason I chose the Stormtrooper Corps over the officer's academy. Unfortunately, in war time, we don't have the luxury of choosing our duty. We're meeting in one of the TIE wing briefing rooms; the pilots are already boarding their fighters, ready to launch the moment we leave hyperspace. “We don't have much time, so I'll keep this brief." "The rebels have attacked an Imperial freighter, hoping to steal data from the supercomputer it's carrying. Our mission today is simple: we're going to stop them. You'll be riding over to the Suprosa on assault transports." "Artizan, you're lead pilot. We have several hanger bays to choose from – the main hanger is ideal, but we want the assault team to arrive in one piece so you drop them off at whichever site looks best." "Kodan – I need you and your team to secure the bridge. If the rebels can't escape with the information, they'll probably try to take the entire ship. We cannot let that happen." "Tyrus – Your team needs to take the engine room so that we can cut power to the bridge, if necessary. You'll also be able to remotely close blast doors from there, so we can cut the rebels off from the computer rooms." "Tariq and Dwarf, you two link up with our Quick Reaction Force. Tariq – your job is to secure any of the computer rooms that the rebels might try to breach. Dwarf– we expect rebel slicers might try to steal the data via remote uplinks. If that's detected, your job is to track them down and take them out." "Beltar – You'll be boarding with the other troops. Link up with the Suprosa's crew and treat any casualties you find. We'll dispatch you and the medical team to other locations as needed." "ZW - Ayt et res be'Sarge na sharee tze mal'meni." It means 'Listen to the Sarge, and don't screw up,' but I'm willing to bet hard credits no one else here speaks Zabraki. I don't speak it either, but I figured if I learned a phrase it might help his standing with the other troops. It's not easy for an alien in the Stormtrooper Corps, but the fact that he's here tells me he must have talent. I'll have to figure out what to do with him if he survives this mission. "Everyone – check your targets; we'll have multiple teams operating and I don't want any blue-on-blue. Use cover, but don't allow yourselves to be pinned down. Above all, do not let the rebels escape with the data." "The rebels seem to think that they can strike us with impunity. We're going to show them how very mistaken that belief is. General Brickdoctor will be watching … make him proud. Move out!"

SoNE X by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr Tyrus’ latest mission was to infiltrate the engine bay aboard the Suprosa, and take out the power to the command deck computers. Once completed, he would be able to take full control of the blast doors, as the engine room engineers had second in command in the case of an airlock breach or other technical problem. His task was to shut off the Rebels’ route by closing the blast doors, preventing them from accessing the central computer terminal. While seemingly a fail-proof plan, on closer inspection, Tyrus could see that there were some problems. He knew from first hand experience that the Rebels had specialised equipment perfectly capable of breaching through Star Destroyer-grade blast doors, let alone the minimal plasteel plates on a frigate like the Suprosa. Upon facing a closed door, the Rebels would merely blast their way through. Tyrus had already thought of this, however. He’d secretly planned with Sergeant Davon an alternative: he'd close all of the doors, but one, in the hope that the Rebels would go for the easier option, and run straight into Davon's and the other troop's blasters. A small, but significant deviation, but he hoped command wouldn't mind. While loyal to the Empire, Davon had the same doubts in its leadership as Tyrus did. He’d turned down the job of captain because it meant he would spend almost every day at a desk with the same men that had sent many of his squad to their deaths. Instead, he’d become the sergeant of the Stormtroopers under Tyrus’ command. He liked Tyrus, and, despite being several years his senior, looked up to him. He knew that if there was anyone who could do a good job of commanding a legion of Stormtroopers, it was Tyrus. Therefore when Tyrus approached him after the briefing on the Avenger, saying that he had a slightly different plan, he didn’t stop to think before agreeing. Tyrus sat down on one of the seats aboard a HAAT, commanded by a pilot by the name of Artizan, alongside the Sergeant and a few troopers. Upon landing, Tryus gave a quick nod to Davon and they split up. SoNE X by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr He found the engine bay to be deserted, he presumed the crew had run for cover. He wasted no time in heading towards the computer terminals, carefully resting his blaster against the wall. Suddenly he heard a noise. He quickly spun round and flung the small knife in his belt, ducking just in time to miss the sizzling laser bolt that struck the wall where his head had been a split second ago. He heard a thud as the knife hit its mark followed by a second thud as an overall-covered body hit the ground. He reclaimed his blaster from the limp hand and fired at the engineer’s head before quickly returning to the console. SoNE X by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr Within minutes, he was through security and shutting all of the blast doors, bar the central corridor. He watched through the cameras as the Rebels turned and headed for the clear route. Tyrus smiled to himself as the stupid Rebels fell for the bait. With a simple ‘Now’ through his comm, he signalled to Davon to spring the trap. The cameras in the lower half of the central corridor saw a sudden flash of red, then lost connection... Zabrak Stormtrooper ZW-461 had simple orders straight from the Commander himself; "do everything the Sarge says and don't screw up." It sounds simple, but ZW had seemed to find the end of the Sarge's whip a lot recently. Now his simple orders were getting complicated. He was suppose to get a injured trooper to a back up ship and ZW had no idea where to find the ship. Even worse, they had fallen in with another squad and ZW forgot which trooper he was suppose to be transporting. Oh well, first things first, finding a ship... "...transporter? nope. transporter? nope. transporter? oh finally... "...huh, those markings look familiar... "Oh yeah, one of the farms back home use to sell to that corporation. This Survey Corps Unit must use them as a supplier." "Oh good, the hatch is open. Hopefully the pilot is in there and ready to go. If he is, I'll just tell him to wait while I go find TK-something something..." [ZW] "Hey! You're already here? And you fly? Oops, I think I just closed the hatch." [Goatm] "Yeah... I'm that guy... strap in we're taking off." [ZW] "Yeah, sure! I'll just grab on up here. So how do you know how to fly? I didn't think that was covered in the academy... "Wait a second?!? Where's your mustache? And pauldron? Awe man... I'm in trouble... Can you let me out? I've got to find a guy with a pauldron and a mustache." [Goatm] "No..." [Ep X] 08 - empty hangar by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr [ZW] "Oh, okay... where're we going, any way?" [Goatm] "I remember when I was in the Survey Corps. Seems a thousand years ago." [ZW] "Oh, cool, but I've really got to get back and..." [Goatm] "I had been test piloting this very shuttle when the ISB requisitioned me and the shuttle for a mission. Three of these assassins convened just over my shoulder. "They were taking a team to clear out a Zabrak colony in a worthless sector of the Outer Rim. Some poor bastards that just wanted to be left alone. "The colonists were slaughtered and on the trip home I opened the hatch and let the hit squad suck vacuum. These men embraced horror. Horror and moral terror without any thought of their personal morality and purpose. They were monsters." [Goatm] "A Zabrak in the Imperial ranks is nothing but a monster. There is no personal morality you could serve in concert with the Empire." [ZW] "Where are we? Are you going to kill me?" [Goatm] "We're on one of the moons orbiting Bothawui Prime. There's an Imperial Outpost to the east, a port with plenty of work to the west. Get out." To be continued... Goatm's new ship is a modified Gamma-Class Assault Shuttle commissioned to the Survey Corps. Goatm took advantage of the Suprosa assault to grab this long distance shuttle and to get access to current Imperial records. ZW-461 did not fulfill his orders from Commander Kirana to "not screw up." C&C appreciated.

Please Judge this Freebuild Edit: AHHH! Just realized a part fell off before the photoshoot...Please imagine its there! Or Imagine it broke in a fight, and that's what the Imperial Patrol is for The story so far: First Day Aboard the Avenger At The Table-Before The Storm Rescue Mission Reassigned Eliminating The Competition Target Practice “Here we go again…” Evac Escape A Quick Transaction "Black Sunshine" After having missions involving the Black Sun, Beltar finally clocked in enough hours to get some alone time on his home, Coruscant. Beltar’s grandfather was a wealthy political figure in the Republic, but he had got involved in various crime syndicates over the years, he left a bulk of his possessions to his son, including a nearly mint BNTLY-1948 air speeder, one of the rarest, commonly used among the Skull Crime Syndicate back in the day, Beltar assumed this is how this one came into his possession…But first, he had to stop at his old friends, Mak’s, garage shop to pick her up… Mak: Back on Coruscant, eh old friend? I kept ‘er in the best condition I could…Was a trouble to find the parts you was missin’ Beltar: Ha! Good to see you too, always nervous, weren’t you. I’ll give you a check for all those pieces you had to acquire later, the salary of a medical officer in the empire at my level isn’t the best! Also…how many times did you taker her for a spin Mak…? I know you would… Mak: Your salary is probably better than mine down here, in these parts… And uh… Perhaps more than once… It’s a long story, but the thing is that she’s alright right now…! I was surprised that it was in the good condition that you brought it to me in! Beltar: Yea, well my good ol’ grandad loved his air speeders. Sometimes more than us. But, he got involved in some bad people, after the air speeder was shot down, he was killed, by a Corouscant gang, but surprisingly the thing was left in okay condition! Mak: You know the gang’s used to call these babies Black Sunshine’s back in the day, my father told me about it. Because apparently the Black Sun controlled the BNTLY Speeder Inc, and they sold modified ones to their partners, and rigged ones to their rivals… Beltar: I guess I learn something new every day, whether it be how to save a life or something about the Sun’s. Anyways, I should get going, vacations don’t come often! Mak: Aight ol friend! Perhaps later, I can buy you a drink! Same time as before? Beltar: Of course! Later than day while Beltar went for a ride on some familiar streets that he hasn’t seen since he joined the academy… He drove by the Falcon district, near the Eagle Bar… Something clicked in Beltar’s head. This area was controlled by the Skull Crime Syndicate, and the crate he shipped earlier this month…had the symbol of the Eagle Bar, a known hangout of the Skull C.S… As he noticed this, he spotted an air speeder out of the corner of his eye, and of course, they noticed him. And another light went off in his head, he then remembered he had seen one of them while delivering the crate, he must’ve been there to spy on the Imperials… “Gotta warn Sarge later,” Beltar muttered under his breath. And suddenly, shots fired, a chase started. Beltar knew he had to lose the Skull’s somehow, since the BNTLY-1942 was one of the smallest models built from BNYLY Speeders Inc., he saw a slight chance of fitting into the street, and he could get into alleys easier this way… Beltar: “Just a little lower, come on…” “COME ON BOYS, SHOOT HIM! YOUR AIMS IS WORSE THAN STORMIES!” “Yea, yea, yea, bossman, we got this!” “You’re all idiots….Keep firing…” “Aw, almost got him! Watch out for pedestrians though!” “SERIOUSLY? WE CAN”T LET HIM GET AWAY!” “Why bossman?” “That’s the Imp I saw on N.E.! And that’s Mr. Beltar’s BNTLY somehom!….Ha, coincidences! Lovely, lovely thing!” "Yea! We'll get 'im!" “Run! Run for our lives!” “Move! Outta my way!” “No respect for bystanders!” “THAT VIOLATES 11 CODES!” Sarge: “Wait. Is that Beltar?” “Maybe Imperials? Gotta run!” Shortly after this event, Beltar managed to lose the Skull’s through a tight alley maze, the engines where almost shot, and Beltar knew he was going to have to get this speeder fixed again. Hopefully the Skull’s don’t come looking for Mak’s Garage…or Beltar… This time, I tried to write far more than my other freebuild, because that wasn’t the best build or story wise at all. I also get better photographs! Anyways, hope you liked the build and story! C and C welcome! ~Beltar

Given the large scope of the Empire's operation we were all pulling duties we might not be usually assigned to. I had been sent to interrogate a captured Rebel. I figured that since I wasn't a trained interrogation specialist that this would not be a high value target. Since I wouldn't be dealing with a Rebel that would have likely been trained in interrogation resistance techniques I decided that bluffing would likely be my best choice. I entered the holding room and didn't address the Rebel at all. I set about powering up the interrogation droid and busying myself with looking like I was getting things ready when I really was just doing nothing. I never directly looked at the Rebel but I could sense his growing apprehension. Finally I finished with my "preparations" and got the droid positioned right in from of the Rebel. It was at this point that the Rebel tried to put on false bravado and defiantly said: "Do you really expect me to talk?" I calmly replied: "No Rebel scum, I expect you to die." The mask of arrogance was quickly changed into a sense of panic. "But ... but you haven't even interrogated me!" "Correct. We know that you have little of value to offer us as far as information. But you do have value. You see, this droid here will make sure that your screams are heard in the nearby cells. And then THOSE Rebels will be far more willing to offer up their information. See, you can be helpful!" I wasn't even sure if there were any Rebels in nearby cells. Or how well sound would travel for that matter. But it worked anyway. The Rebel started telling me everything he knew without me even asking.

This is part two – I'd suggest reading part one first: Wave of Mutilation The trooper in the foyer told me I'd find the scanning crew a few hallways down. I could hear laughter as I approached. They all had their backs to me. Okay, my turn. How can you tell an ISB spook is lying? Because his lips are moving, but I don't think you have the security clearance for that information, private. Ah, jeez, sir, I apologize, I didn't see – Stop talking. Specialist, what have you found? Well sir, the equipment detected a void space at the end of the hall that isn't in the building plans. We're trying to find the actuator now. Almost got it, should be right about … here - Alright, giggles, give me your bucket. Sir? And your grapple. And your E-11. I have an idea. 3 minutes later … Lucky for me no one was operating the remote turret. Clear. Come on down. So – this was the lair of Agent An. He'd used a drive-melter on the computer console – but it looks like he left a data stick behind. Surely not by accident. Daaamn. That's a very respectable collection. DL-44, Deece 17 … a Plex Launcher... If you asked me now, I couldn't tell you why I did it, but once I was sure the troopers were distracted by Goatm's armory, I slipped the data stick into my pocket. He left all this good stuff behind, but it looks like he took one thing with him. A hammer. Huh. See now, that wouldn't have been my first guess, but … ...but that's why I'm the spook? Hah, your words, sir, not mine. Yeah, well, I'm just a grunt on loan to the ISB, but there's going to be a shuttle full of real spooks here soon, and you'll find them to be less jovial than I am. So make sure giggles keeps his mouth shut. Roger that, sir. Alright, I'm sure he had a back door – once we find it we can get the scanning crew in here to do a proper search. I was pretty sure the only evidence Goatm had left behind was the data stick I'd pocketed, but it always pays to double check.

Note: This freebuild and my next one are homages to one of the great American war films (Great? Wars not make one great). This freebuild takes place several months after my Ep VIII Entry. ---------------- Everyone gets everything they want. I wanted a mission, and for my sins they gave me one. Brought it up to me like room service. It was a real choice mission, and when it was over I'd never want another. Oh yeah, Sergeant. The bastards had given me a promotion. I suppose on datapad the engagement at Clovis looked good enough. Using a pair of TIE Bombers for CAS we killed over 200 of the local rebels, and only suffered two Imperial fatalities. Of course, when those two fatalities are your closest friends, closer than brothers, and when you're the one who killed them by calling in an airstrike to the wrong grid ... well, it doesn't look as good anymore. Back to Mos Eisley? Sh*t. I must be in trouble this time. Is this about that REMF who had a big mouth and ended up with a broken face? No, no ... I already got written up for that one. --------------------------

Note - this freebuild takes place shortly after Wake up call. Imperial Star Destroyer Avenger Level 84 [Restricted Area] ISB Major: Sergeant, welcome. Please, stand at ease. ISB Colonel: Sergeant ... is there something on your face? Sgt. Lucas Kirana: Yes sir. Sorry, sir. They've had me working in the hangers. It takes a few days to get the engine oil completely off. Sir. ISB Colonel: But you're feeling fit? You're ready for duty? Lucas: Yes, sir. Very much so, sir. ISB Major: You've seen a lot of action, haven't you Sergeant? Lucas: Yes, sir, I have. ISB Major: Your record specifies almost a dozen combat missions this year which involved you and other members of the 142nd SpecOps battalion working directly for the Imperial Security Bureau. Lucas: ... I'm not presently disposed to discuss those operations, sir. ISB Major: Did you not execute missions for the ISB while working as a commando? Lucas: ... No sir. ISB Major: Did you not infiltrate Bothawui via wingsuit last year, to extract a compromised ISB agent? Lucas: ... ISB Major: Did you not return two days later and execute thirteen members of a rebel cell identified by that agent? Sergeant? Lucas: Sir, I am unaware of any such operation, nor would I be disposed to discuss such an operation, if it did in fact exist. Sir. ISB Colonel: Okay, that's fine. Sergeant, have you heard of Agent Goatm An? Lucas: I don't believe so, sir. ISB Colonel: Davin, why don't you play those recordings. These were monitored out of a shuttle, used by a former Separatist tracker we sent after An. This has been verified as Agent An's voice. Recording: Date 38.9.8. 0400 hours. “I watched a granite slug, crawl along the edge of a vibroblade. That's my dream ... it's my nightmare. Crawling ... slithering, along the edge ... of a vibroblade. And surviving.” Date 33.9.17. 2300 hours. “But we must kill them. We must ... incinerate them. Shaak after shaak, kaadu after kaadu, ship after ship, army after army. And they call me an assassin. What do you call it, when the assassins accuse the assassin? They lie … they lie, and we have to be merciful for those who lie... Those nabobs, I hate them. I do hate them” He had a grasp of tactics and strategy that surpassed many of his commanding officers. And he was a good man, too. A man of wit, and humor. He's gone AWOL now, totally off the reservation. Stole an Imperial ship and disappeared. And, I have another piece of shocking news for you: Agent An was about to be arrested for murder. I don't follow, sir. Murdered who? He's left a trail of bodies, to be frank. People he suspected of being traitors or double agents, mainly. Well, you see, Lucas, in this war, things get ... confused out there. Power, ideals, the old morality, and practical military necessity. But out there, working alone, it must be a temptation to take matters into your own hands. To play God, if you will. Because there's a conflict in every human heart, between the rational and the irrational, between good and evil. And good does not always triumph. Sometimes ... the dark side overcomes what Chancellor Palpatine called 'the better angels of our nature.' And, very obviously, he has gone insane. Your mission is to proceed to the Outer Rim, pick up Goatm's path via the Seperatist shuttle, learn what you can along the way. When you find Goatm, get close to him by whatever means available, and ... terminate Goatm's mission. He's out there operating without any decent restraint, totally beyond the pale of any acceptable human conduct. After all that, we still have to use euphemisms. It's an old term, from the corporate sector. To "terminate" someone, of course, meant to fire them. If someone was "terminated with prejudice" they'd be blacklisted, and unable to find work in any related guilds. Someone terminated with "extreme prejudice" ... well, you'd be surprised how easy it is for the CEO of a major company to have someone killed. You understand, Sergeant, that this mission does not exist, nor will it ever exist... A galaxy full of rebels, and they send me to kill one of our own. Sh*t, charging a man with murder in a war like this is like handing out speeding tickets at the Boonta Eve Classic. I took the mission. What the hell else was I going to do? But I really didn't know what I'd do when I found him.

My TIE's cockpit is very snug, but it ironically feels huge because the viewport looks out into the neverending expanse of space. It never feels cramped or claustrophobic as a result. But my lastest mission which is actually in a space much larger has me quite apprehensive. I've somehow ended up working for the Black Sun under the orders of the Empire. I'm supposed to be helping to destroy the Ororo transportation company. And despite my status as a pilot, they saw fit to send me in with a small specialized ground force. Not sure how that works, but I'm smart enough not to ask questions. I'm the explosives "expert" on this mission and the other guys are mostly around to make sure I'm able to do what I need to do. We are going to target a main electrical room via an underground tunnel used for maintenance. Once I blow that up other elements will carry out more direct assaults. We shouldn't run into anyone, so I'm hoping I get to just plant the charges and get out. These new thermal detonators are quite powerful and should easily be able to knock out the electricity. I triple checked their timing settings so we should have enough time to exit the tunnel before they go off. Things are so different on the ground. In space the explosions happen but they are brief. And there is no sound. But here on the ground the explosions are vivid, noisy, and can be felt in your stomach. The rumble initially is felt in your feet and makes the hairs on your neck stand up. It is awe inspiring the power those explosives hold. No Figs:

The horror... When the Wookie first attacked, I tore my flesh and beat my metal frame. "You cannot kill me beast!" I said to him as he approached our camp like a firefly in the night. But he continued to relentlessly shadow our camp. He was consumed by his fear. Finally, he did get a hold of the girl. His claws on her throat, the other stretching her arm, he looked at me with joy. At long last, he had us pinned and we would be forced to get him out of this distant valley. But his exp ression changed as the girl called out and I did nothing. I then picked up my hammer and approached him. First a trickle of blood, a snap of bone, tearing of sinew. Panic came over his face, then determination. Blood poured from her neck and he readied himself to face me. I put him down like a sick mutt. The ISB had installed a short range beacon to her heart. When it stopped beating, the handful of trackers that followed our scent to Gordon descended into the valley. Empty threats. Please judge. This takes place on the neutral planet of Aquilae

Note, this is part 3 of the story. Part 1: Wake up call Part 2: Going to extremes ----------------- It was a terrible idea for a mission, so of course High Command was very enthusiastic about it. Pose as mercenaries and help Black Sun destroy the headquarters of a competitor, in hopes of ... what? Gaining the trust of a criminal empire? I didn't want anything to do with it, but once we learned that Agent Goatm An had been spotted at the site, I had no choice. I infiltrate the base with a squad of Dark Troopers, dressed as Mandalorians; once inside I leave the squad and head for the maintenance hanger where Goatm's ship had been spotted. It's not long until I start finding bodies or, more accurately, pieces of bodies. For a second I suspect Goatm, but whoever killed these Ororo employees enjoyed it, and I can't see Goatm gleefully slaughtering unarmed civilians. Traitors or enemies, sure, but this seems too random, too unnecessary. I find their sentry around the next corner. Typical, Black Sun scum. It takes a special kind of stupid to bring a full-sized repeating rifle to a close-quarters battle. There's a pair of them in the next room. One thug's helmet partially deflects my first shot, but not the second. The big guy is faster than he looks. If he'd fired his blaster instead of swinging it like an axe, he might have gotten lucky. I guess this solves the mystery of the carved up bodies. The Mandalorian armor stops the blade, but I can feel ribs snap. That's going to hurt later. The thing about big guys, especially those that spend a lot of time in space, is they have weak joints. When he pulls back the axe, I drop to the floor and kick his knee so hard that the snap makes me wince. I don't know what series of poor life decisions led him to wear a helmet without full head protection, but I take advantage of it. As I turn to enter the utility tunnel I see him. Agent Goam An. Walking slowly toward the main hanger. I follow, cautiously. The hanger comes into view. I can see fighting on the far end of it, a combat walker and some heavily armored troops. Closer, a hooded figure wearing armor, running my way. Even as I start to raise my weapon, my brain dismisses him as a threat. His hands are empty, and his eyes are full of the kind of terror that can't be faked. And there, right in front of me, is Goatm. I could finish it now; his armor doesn't look strong enough to stop blaster fire. For some reason, I hesitate. I'm prepared to drop him if he makes a threatening movement, but I find myself calling out. “Agent An.” He stops, keeping his hands in view. The battle rages inside the hanger, and out in space, but my universe has contracted to this small bubble. I think I'm prepared for anything, but he says the one thing I don't expect. My name. “Sergeant Kirana.” I don't hear the explosion, but I feel it. The deck seems to lurch slightly upward, and dust falls from the walls. Then with a surprisingly quiet sound, almost a whimper, the magnetic shield at the mouth of the hanger vanishes and everything inside rushes into the void of open space. It gets chaotic for a few seconds, and then the blast doors slam shut. The last glimpse I get of Goatm, he seems as surprised as I am. I don't think the explosion was his doing, but it's given him an escape route all the same. I try to open the door - I have 30 minutes of air in my suit - but the safety overrides have locked all access. Damn. I walk to the window instead. A red ship flies past and dips it's wings toward me. Using the magnifier optics in my helmet, I can just make out Goatm inside the cockpit. Well, no reason to stick around here any longer; I have a feeling the entire base is going to become an unhealthy environment very soon. Better see if I can find the Shadow Trooper squad and hitch a ride home. I have a feeling Goatm and I will be meeting again. ----------------------

After the Imperials had successfully captured many Rebels in Kuat, Dark Trooper Tyrus had been personally requested by Admiral Zapal to attend an interrogation of a Rebel hotshot pilot that had destroyed the Admiral's Star Destroyer a month ago with a lucky torpedo, leaving him with just an Interdictor. He had made contact with the Avenger and was delighted to hear that Tyrus' squad had captured the fleeing pilot on their surveys of Kuat. As a gesture of thanks, Zapal invited Tyrus to join him on his Intedictor cruiser, personally decorated to his tastes (though far to light and cheerful for Tyrus'), to witness the interrogation and eventual destruction of the pilot. Tyrus walked into the interogation bay and squinted at the harsh, white lights that illuminated the room. The Admiral had been joined by another Commando, Jargo Fine, along with a couple of Stormtroopers. Tyrus had brought a trooper that had carried the pilot 9km across Kuat's surface back to the Imperial Shuttle, SK-13L. "Don't you just love to hear them scream..." The Admiral said to Tyrus and Fine, as a few small drills pierced the pilot's stomach. Tyrus had heard things about Admiral Zapal, about how he had crushed the heads of a Rebel woman and child with his bear hands, but he was even more sadastic in person. He grimaced as he watched the torture take place, but the pilot didn't really yield anything they didn't already know. He was just being punished by destroying the Admiral's flagship. Suddenly the other Commando, Fine, murmured something into his headset. No one else seemed to notice, but Tyrus suspected something dodgy... To people, a man and a woman, dressed in scruffy clothes entered the room. Tyrus and SK-13L de-holstered their weapons and the Admiral turned round but the other Stormtroopers and Fine didn't react. SoNE XI by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr SoNE XI by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr The man strode over to the Admiral and held a long blade to his throat. "Admiral Zapal. It's nice to finally meet you." "Who are you? How did you get onto my ship?" The Admiral replied, his staunch gaze failing to falter. "We have had men stationed on your ship for weeks. Jaul and Lo'kar here," he said, pointing at the Stormtroopers beside him, "are prime examples of this. They've been reporting your movements and plans for ages, my men slowly replacing yours on this ship. Next we'll have the Avenger. As to my name, that doesn't matter. All that matters is you," He said, "And him," pointing at Tyrus. "Tell us what you want," said Tyrus, walking towards the newcomers. "I just said. We the Admiral dead for all the atrocious war crimes he has committed." Tyrus secretly couldn't disagree with that point. "Also, we would like you as well." With that, the man stepped towards the Admiral and sliced his throat open. The Admiral gasped and fell into a pool of his own blood. "You want me dead too? Well come and get me!" Tyrus said, signalling SK-13L to join him in cover behind the medical equipment. SoNE XI by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr SoNE XI by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr Tyrus and SK-13L fought hard. They managed to take out one of the traitor Stormtroopers and the Commando, Fine. "Run," Tyrus said to SK-13L, "I'll cover you. You need to inform the Avenger that they are going to be under attack. Tell them to purge the Intedictor, Vanquish, It's not worth the risk they could cause. An Intedictor in the hands of bounty hunters will be very dangerous." SK-13L nodded and started to rush down a ventilation shaft. He didn't get far before. The bounty hunter male had thrown his blade and Tyrus watched as SK-13L's back was split open. Tyrus could hear his cries of pain before they were suddenly silenced by a blaster bold from one of the rogue troopers. Tyrus looked back at the attackers and was immediately hit by a stun bolt. He dropped his blaster pistol as he fought to stay conscious. He saw the woman stride towards him and watched helplessly as a bag was pulled over his head, the darkness looming ever closer until he could see nothing but black. He dropped to the floor, unconscious... Sorry about the mediocre build and rushed story, hopefully I'll have time tomorrow morning to modify the story... Modified.

Trooper: I'm just sayin, if we got walkers and tanks how come they sending us in first? Sgt Kirana: Jax, the whole point is that we outpace the walkers and rush the city before the rebels can hunker down. Trooper: Sure, sarge, I got that part, but the hover tanks are almost fast as us. Why not send them first? I mean, might be mines in the road or, or bombs... Trooper: Exactly! You're not going to send a million-credit tank to scout for mines when you can send a refurbished swamp speeder, right? It's simple economics, Jax. We were one of several fast assault convoys; a mixture of upgraded swamp speeders, troop carriers and assorted light armor. The plan was to hit Kuat city from several directions at once, and establish forward outposts while the walkers encircled the city. Any rebels who fled from our advance would be chased down by the units behind us. We arrived at our AO, the central market, around 0900. Sgt Kirana: Acklay 2-1 to Acklay Actual. Lt. Tanager: Send it 2-1. Sgt Kirana: Ma'am, we have reached the central market and are preparing to set-up a defensive cordon... Sgt Kirana: I have eyes on what appear to be armed militia... ... as well as an individual on a rooftop who seems to be relaying our position via a handheld comm unit. ...request permission to occupy the building and bring in the suspicious individual for questioning, over. Lt Tanager: Solid copy 2-1. You are cleared to occupy structures as you see fit until we've established our forward operating base. You are also cleared to detain and interrogate any suspicious individuals, but current ROE states you are not to engage any neutral militia unless threatened. How copy, over? Sgt Kirana: 2-1 copies all. Thank you ma'am. Lt Tanager: Happy hunting, 2-1. A few close ups of the market: A few more swamp speeder shots:
