  1. cute as a little button - very well finished - should be an official set!
  2. its almost worth buying the set for this C model only.... very nice indeed my local toysRus still has 42000 in stock too but not worth it after seeing this!
  3. these wheels are great but I find the hubs crack and break on the old grey ones - (black and yellow ok so far) though with enough wheels 12kg is 2 kg per wheen which is over what you would need anyway
  4. depends on the diffs the lower profile none-bevelled ones may fit but would make the body too long for us city slickers diffs are more of anecessity as no grass or soil to off road and allow wheel slip at home the need for diffs is greater on polished floors
  5. indeed it is very helpful, I got my 9398 box damaged and without guarrantee of missing parts, at a great price so I took the risk, I compared to a review (I forget whose it was) which had excellent pictures of all the bags and I found I was missing nothing luckily... but I sure would not have taken the risk without having a reference point
  6. so you need lots of pens then....
  7. I would try to use two centre differentials - longitudonally set - the left one would be between the left wheels and the right between the right wheels
  8. quite simply......Nuts! as crazy as a bag of babies
  9. there is still a lot of manual intervention needed (adding the weights, putting the 'feet' on the end of the (Grey? ) stabiliser pistons but you can imagine a team of minifigs running around sorting all this out ....
  10. very compact and great idea to use the mindstorms for regulation and winding
  11. 8880 was the last great B model - model - they should bring it back in studless for an anniversary or something
  12. This is how great MOCs start and evolve - with feedback and participation from others... shame you're not doing it 4x4 but who knows as you have not finished yet
  13. 17 : 10 18 : 6 1 : 4 9 : 3 8 : 2 11 : 1 these 6 had the wow factor for me - and in order of how playable and more likely lego would end up making these one day.
  14. in the end I thnk LEgo does bad B models on purpose... "I can do better than that" will make us try more and then need extra parts so we buy more sets (in the pre-bricklink days) or more bricks nowadays
  15. slow steering on a monster like this is not a bad thing.... I always had problems with Hydraulic steering - yours looks great - return to center is the key to make it useable Master/slave system would work but only if filled with oil/fluid
  16. 8421 - no B model just a cherry picker! that set has way more potential for B models than that
  17. ...and lets not get started with the energy needed to manufacture the parts, greases, oils etc... that keep the friction down - totally inefficient if you ask me having to wait for all those prehistoric forests to decompose into oil
  18. should be - but I'd recommend an airtank or two.... or use two pumps like 8455 does...
  19. my nearest TRU had loads of F1 42000 in stock all of a sudden...
  20. seeing the chrome bricks on the other thread makes me think this would be awesome with loadsa chrome
  21. Mine got rust and they have never been in water! where we live has very high humidity...
  22. I have all those 90s parts too - can't wait to make two and race them with the kids
  23. And there we all thought 3d printing would kill off ancient sculpting techniques like these...
