Alternate wheels, 8860
Rockbrick replied to Grosse Kind's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wheels look good but... swapping the steering over is easy on the 8860 - but why the longer axles ? and the gearbox changes? -
Well done to all entries, I have scored only in order of which one I would buy off the shelf in order or preference, if they were real lego sets sitting in a shop. (so the most complex and wow model may not even score here at all) 7:10 17:6 16:4 4:3 2:2 5:1

So the Porsche seems to have sequential gearbox with flappy gear change paddles plus possible RC and brakes by the look of the size of the wheels.... you could fit a small family in there the more i look the more I understand the 299€ pricing apart from the licencing IP issues - the seats are back to being the work of art old technic car seats used to be...etc... we have to thank the MOCers like Sheepo et al. etc... who have been making complex cars like this that lego 'feels' the need to catch-up with something 'wow' Still wish they'd done a pastel green landrover defender like the last one that was made...and that was the reason they did not do one with the lego ideas channel

much better than the official lego version and as for the bucket being too small - in real life multiple attachments are possible and for this job a small one was needed

RC Mini Truck
Rockbrick replied to Chade's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
On my first job I managed to crash into one once (whilst also driving another one [same model]) and it flipped over... the model is great - i love things at this scale but why not flip the motors and have one drive each side (no need for diff and better turning) great details -

I got some cheap set of 4 from ebay china - they took a long time to come but were great fit - copies of ackermans no doubt however over time the rubber has become 'dusty' and the tyres mark the floor, walls, hands a lot so only for outdoor use at the moment.
