  1. I was thinking on the same lines for adjusting the shocks you could use a pulley that you tighten loosen with strings thereby adjusting the tension and travel on the shocks (and height too)
  2. would be great to have a motorised function for the stiffness of the suspension ... i don't think its been done before - accidentally maybe by moving the angle of the shocks in and out but usuall people do this for ground clearance only winches are so last year....
  3. only ZBLJ's tatra chassis with my own body for testing.... many more on the 'to-do' list
  4. you may have got them as a present but the rest of us have to pay him a present, and rightly so! I have spent in this MOC more than 60 hours of my little free time, why should I give them for free? Remember one important thing: more than 50% of the time spent in any of my cars are only to do the instructions. ... I think Epic technic was saying it is right to pay for instructions I don't think he was being sarcastic or wanting free instructions
  5. Great Chassis - looking forward to seeing peoples creations but at the moment not paying for that - no money left after christmas .... :-(
  6. Jaw-droppingly awesome - remind me not to enter any competitions you enter into in the future....
  7. LDD is great - building and realising all of the above, priceless - go build, make mistakes then ask some more questions and of course share photos!
  8. the dakar panda is heavily modified i suppose....
  9. if a normal 2wd 2cv can complete the dakar (and many have) then a 4x4 panda can too
  10. and lego have a history of lego re-releasing sets - sometimes 3 times - if it didn't work or make money they would have stopped ages ago
  11. Ropes and pulleys is another way - same as chains really but if you pulley the ropes you can get great power - to - weight capabilities think this but upside-down:
  12. direct drive the wheels but use the 'train set' remote with the variable speed as 'gearing', the L motors should have enough torque for this
  13. lego for me is expensive - the local shop markup is crazy and the online shop does not ship to me so no VIP points etc or special packs I can resell to recoup the costs so I only go for flagship sets if I can get a good used one on ebay or damaged box discount on play.com for example
  14. I thought this one too, but it uses the latest diff up front so technically can never be true transverse
  15. at last a non-vehicle lego MOC for a change....!
  16. very good! in the world of smartphones and tablets this will keep kids quite entertained for a long time
  17. ...then they get flack for producing models that are 'too complete' - get put on a shelf for display and not get played with enough... not stimulating the mind enough and i've seen it happen with my kids - lots of sets on the shelf and fewer taken apart to make new mocs I'm actually quite glad to see 42037 (forumla off-road racer) have a hideous colour scheme and look incomplete as no matter what age you are if you buy it/ received it - you'd want to customise it almost immediately
  18. worse still is when they claim its a 4x4 when referring to looks only not function (8435 for example)
  19. great work -I was wondering about this one - was it only available on the 8420 Motorbike?
  20. Depends on the comparison.... Madoca's 8x8 is very technically complex - out in the rough could it last as well as something with 8 motors and less gears to go wrong? Also to note the Fox is a creation of the owner - yes its Tatra-esque but doesn't claim to be so, Madocas claims to be a Tatra but tatra's don't have portal axles (pinzgauers do for example but only 6x6) the portal axles are a necessity though for the gearing and hubs... Performance-wise nothing beats the Fox in Looks Madoca's 8x8 attention to detail with the roll cage etc.. is beautifully done I think they are so different that they are both winners and should be in everyone's to do list one day (if you have no wife or kids and you can spend the money only on lego...)
  21. A beauty! perhaps one stud wider would look more proprtional but I understand the limitations of the parts you've used and you probably have to go 3 studs wider to get the same functionality which would ruin the looks.... another one for the 'must make this one day list' (not a very long list though) !
  22. Its a shame they didn't go down the Landrover Defender route, with the sheepo's getting through the lego ideas votes, and the stopping manufacturing of the defender Model a team up with Landrover would have been nice.
  23. large disc launcher makes a good car 'hood'
